I struggled with addiction for 20+ years. Thanks to southwest Carolina treatment center I’ve been clean for 4 years. Everyone at the clinic is nice. Sterling is down to earth and easy to talk to. He cares about the people he works with. He genuinely wants to know how you are doing. Everyone at the clinic is very helpful ,hopeful, and I get to feeling that they genuinely care about helping curve addiction in our community. 10/26/25 still using this same clinic, sterling is no longer there . Vick is my counselor now and he's awesome. He doesn't rush and takes the time to talk with me for as long as I need . This place saved my life literally. If you need help and have been unsuccessful at treatment several times please do yourself a favor and get to a clinic who offers out patient therapy.

My treatment plan through SWCTC saved my life. I'd never heard of methadone and a friend told me about it. I was in denial and had spent so much money and time finding drugs. My whole existence depended on getting my pills. I wanted to stop and prayed for a way. I've been clean for 22 years now. If you really want to stop, call SWCTC or a clinic near you to make an appointment so you too can get help without going through a horrific withdrawal.

Ive been going there for 4 years. I used to be so bad off I couldnt be a person. I couldnt function as one. My therapist helped me think about things I already knew I just couldnt connect. Thanks to her my issues have been dissolving. Not completely. However you cant heal overnight or in a week's time. Brains just dont allow it. It just depends on the severity.

Such great folks here. The receptionist desk is full of helpful women, the facility is secure, and well kept with nice decor, both inside and outside. I haven't experienced the adult facilities, but my 8 year old has been seeing a counselor there for play therapy since he was 6, Allycia G, and she is wonderful. Such a blessing to see someone in this field that genuinely loves their job, and is very gifted at it. She has helped him so much, I can't thank her enough. They have been a Godsend. Highly recommend.

WOW!!! What a wonderfully blessed place.. a special place; that as soon as u pull into the driveway , the Presence Of God just envelopes U!! This place & This woman: Stacey Carroll, are both miracles. The much needed structure is within their daily schedule, the term "downtime" isn't an option. The program is packed with classes equivalent to course studies, the Biblical Teachers are knowledgeable with an understanding if the Bible, the atmosphere is one of "kindred spirits".. like that of king David & Jonathon.. or Ruth & Naomi. What is said here, stays here. Stacey Carroll is one the most pure hearted women of God I have ever had the honor to be around. She walks it.. like she talks it!! Backs it up daily, she was more than a role model or an example to me.. she has & is a "big sister" to me. I am an Alumni of Shalom. I stayed at the " farm:" for 9 months, then to the Shalom halfway house until my Motherb had a 2nd massive stroke that killed her swallowing reflexes.. Jesus took her home 1 week to the date of the 2nd stroke... Had I been out there using atthe time of hrb stroke & passing..I know I would inintenionally overedosed. Stacey took me under her wing & I almost bought a house in Belton.. It is 59 minutes Stacey from my place to u!! I will be texting you I a few.. I made you a Peach, with Graham Crustm mixed berries, almonds, chocolate & strawberry syrup with Cool Whip for the top.. I have ftozen this pie.. God willing you will have time for me to bring that pie over today and I will get us some pizza but I have a 10 minute that's running behind and he's got some small children so I got the pie down though do text me back you will have my number or you should and I'll holler at you this morning I've been working a lot at night I'm a certified caregiver and I can do sign language, also. But I have been so crazy busy in this business because there have been three different Court battles headed my way I will be able to retainthat piece of property.. we will talk soon.. love you.. praying for all of you please keep me in your prayers also.. From my experience over months of working intensively to survive traumatic and complicated grief, everyone with whom I interact with at OMHC has been and continues to be compassionate, patient, and expert professionals. From the first day when I arrived and collapsed into a lobby chair with tears streaming and reality shifted from normal, I was rescued and cared for by these remarkable people. Working weekly with both a grief counselor and a physician, I discovered that the interplay between my underlying medical conditions and high functioning autism were being dramatically affected by the traumatic grief. This caused a period of reactive psychosis or shift from reality where nothing seemed real and I could once again see and speak with my recently departed mother. Without help, people with autism do not process grief like a neuro-normal and as such are more profoundly affected and can become very ill, like I had. The underlying adrenal insufficiency and narcolepsy, which were caused by prior damage to the pituitary and hypothalamus organs of the brain, are potentially life-threatening if not treated appropriately. Due to the autism and subsequent inability to process traumatic grief, my neurological medical conditions were thrown into disequilibrium. The result was daily adrenal crises and significant reduction in neurotransmitters of the brain. Some of these are responsible for higher brain function, such as the executive functions, namely decision making, reasoning abilities, cognitive processing of information (difficulty taking in and understanding information), and even impulse control. Insomnia. Inability to eat mainly because food didn't just taste a little off but rather it tasted rotten. The world seemed to be very far away and foggy. My head felt like a huge rock on my shoulders instead of my own head. My body felt weighed down and slow as if I were trying to slog my way through tar. But nothing mattered because of the deep depression that had settled in to stay for a long visit. This is when the world became dream-like and I could see momma again. I had been unable to locate grief counseling for many weeks since momma passed regardless of how hard I tried to find it and begged for help. There was nothing. But now, that no longer mattered because momma was back. For a very brief time, returning to the work that I loved and had worked nearly half my life to be able to do, now seemed like someone else's life. My medical leave was ending soon and I should be concerned about it. However, I was so satisfied and relieved to have mommy back home that I was unconcerned that the world had disappeared. We talked for hours everyday. When I went to the pharmacy for refills, as mommy was always reminding me when it was time to take my medicine, the pharmacist had heard I was looking for grief counseling and mentioned this place in a big building over there down that little road at the very end. I put the bag of medicine into my purse and seemed to float to the car and over to that place. I don't recall seeing any name on the building or a sign out front and wasn't sure I was where I was supposed to be. I was just so very tired and weak. I entered and saw comfortable chairs and collapsed into one. My memory is very hazy around some of these weeks but there are important aspects that rise above all of the heavy fog. These are very kind, genuinely kind people, I recall thinking. I'm being given some instructions and because they're obviously trying to help me, I will do as they ask. They're very kind, gentle, and warm people. During these days that stretched into weeks, life was a blur of ongoing crying jags that filled my head with such pain that it felt like it might crack open, conversely, I enjoyed many soothing talks with mommy. She was always waiting for me when I returned home. Gratitude and happiness filled me each time I saw her. Sadly, as I was improving, mommy was disappearing. I grieved again. I am here because I was first carried by and then allowed to lean on the remarkable and compassionate people at OMHC.

This place has been a game changer for me. God led me here, no longer feeling like im riding in the backseat of my sobriety/ cleanliness. Now im driving this train and pulling some folks too.Feels amazing...also want to note how sweet the staff all were, even the couple token sourpusses have their value for sure. The food was actually pretty edible! Not that u really want to eat, but this is an absolute necessity in the beginning as well as sleep and the bed was comfortable enough i was able to sleep another absolute necessity you would be surprised i didnt find at other places, sometimes its about those little things that otherwise would have caused anyone so much more unnecessary uncomfort. Also, plenty of vape breaks, and they give u a good vape for your stay as long as u attend the groups, plz do as many groups as uu possibly can. Thank u again to all the staff, support and to all the beautiful people I met in there. If youre reading this and this would be your first time coming in for something like this boy are uu lucky to have just found this place.PLZZ JUST DO IT! ...RIGHT NOW. It finally is working for me wish I would have come here first! I plead the Blood of Jesus over you, and apply it to your situation in His Holy Name. Thank you Lord Amen

I could not be more grateful for the care I received here. The staff are amazing and will make sure that you are always comfortable. You will be respected, heard, and treated with dignity. You won't be dismissed, all your questions will be answered. Be completely honest so that you can receive the exact care that you need. You could not ask for better accomodations or understanding. The environment is immediately welcoming. Its quiet, peaceful. They have everything you need, you really just need clothing. (Its a bit chilly, bring hoodies and fuzzy socks) There are even laundry facilities. You will be provided with a vape or nicotine patches if you use nicotine products. You may rest as much as you need, the staff will let you sleep through the night, vitals are during the day. You can call your family, except for during group meetings. No visitors, but the stay is short. The counselors and peer support specialists are very honest, open, and eager to help you with your personal journey, without being pushy or making you feel rushed. Whether faith based or evidence based care is right for you, that is your choice. There are options for both approaches! The idea of group meetings was terrifying for me, an introvert, an addict full of shame and guilt. You are not obligated to contribute, that was reassuring. But I was surprised at myself for wanting to contribute and engage. It was a bit sad leaving. While here, I was not just a junkie, just an alcoholic, a lost cause, all of the negative adjectives I used to describe myself. I wasn't the things my family called me. I wasn't an echo of the childhood I lost. I wasn't an empty, lonely vessel on autopilot. I was a person. A human. Im more than my story, but sharing our perspectives and caring for each other felt like being part of a family. A family where you aren't the black sheep. It was almost overwhelming to feel that kind of support and HOPE. Ill be honest; When I came in, i wasn't ready to get help. The timing was just right. But very quickly that changed. They made me want to be better. Not for recognition or pats on the back. Not for attention or brownie points. They made me want it because they made me see I deserve it, I deserve to live a good life and be happy. If you are thinking about making some changes, please come here. What do you have to lose?

I voluntarily checked out of the program after 21 weeks. However, those 21 weeks was a life changer. Through God's Grace and Mercy, the Overcomer's program is phenomenal. They, with God's Grace, put me back together.

The Oaks is where life begins anew. I went to the Oaks after drinking and more. How I got there is a story in its self. What I encountered at the Oaks was unbelievable. People who understood me and my problems. Then I was handed the book and my life changed. After my time there I’ve helped a few men myself get there lives back the same way. Once you learn the program you’ll have a better understanding of how to handle life. Since leaving the Oaks I’ve had many many great days. I’ve had meaningful relationships with people. I may have left my drinking buddies behind but I’ve gained some real friends. If you’re in need of help or someone you know does consider the Oaks because it worked for me when I thought nothing would.

Oaks Recovery saved my life and my marriage! My husband went to The Oaks in September 2024 and I followed him to Willow House 2 months later. Seeing my husband be restored through working his program at Oaks Recovery I wanted what he had and I knew where to find it. Oaks Recovery is a SOLUTION based treatment center for substance and alcohol abuse! Beyond that The Oaks has definitely become family and home to us. My husband is 6 months clean and I am 4 months and counting. The staff is phenomenal! I started going to PCTC around 12/2020 I believe.. I have found the staff to be very kind , caring , and helpful . I had Jackie as a counselor when I started and she was promoted and went to Anderson location and I ended up with a new counselor Chelsea and have been lucky enough to have her ever since ! They have helped me with transportation when I've had issues getting there as I am disabled and don't drive , I have had some very hard things happen in my life and I grew to trust Chelsea and have been able to talk to her and she has helped me lot just by listening and truly ended up failing a DT and knew I hadn't done anything and have had a flawless record and had just taken an observed 2 days before(clean as can be other than methadone )an being given the DT that I took on my own that came up as failed and I was so shocked and cried because I knew I hadn't done anything and it was just very helpful that she helped me through that and she helped me figure out what happened.. I figured she wouldn't believe me because I am sure so many have said the same , but she didn't and she cared enough to help me figure it out. All of staff there are just such genuine caring people and seem to be doing it because they truly care to help ppl recover and not just doing it for a paycheck . They have connected with so many that I see and the kids that have to come with their parents they connect and get to know the ppl and don't make you feel less than for having to go through the process of recovery. I recommend them to anyone who is serious about bettering and extending their life by leaving addiction behind .
