I am grateful for the services Appalachian has provided over the past 6-7 years for my patients. Yes, they are understaffed and they are overworked, but they are also the only organization available in our area for people with mental health crises. There is a severe statewide and national problem of inadequate mental health services. Without Appalachian, our community would be in far worse shape, because there is nothing else like it available in this whole region. Despite the time it takes for some services, I believe they literally save lives.

This place is pretty special. They spread good throughout an under-served segment of our community by providing a safe place for neighbors recovering and healing, who might not have the means to stay in a rehab facility. People who have bills to pay, family to care for, and work to do (or find) and still deal with their personal demons have solace here. Tools are provided for work training, personal empowerment, healing through creativity, and many more classes and offerings (both in person/virtual), as well as personal mental health therapy sessions. This group perfectly exemplifies our mountain culture of hospitality and endurance while occupying a historic craftsman style home near downtown Waynesville. I really cannot give enough words of praise for this down-to-earth home-grown practice of truly caring professionals.

There are good people here and I have found them. Most of the classes they offer give you wonderful suggestions to learn to set boundaries and manage Anxiety while the one on one actually helps a lot if you get the right person. I feel it has benefited me with suggestions and strategies that you can apply to every day life. As someone said on here you have to do the work yourself. Didn't take you a day to get here so give it a few weeks and if you don't have the right class or person ask for someone else or go to a different class.

Overall, it was an excellent experience. Probably the best aspect of Silver Ridge was the helpful staff. Everyone to include the therapists, management, group counselors and chefs were outstanding. I would definitely recommend Silver Ridge to anyone that is struggling with addiction and wants to start a better way of life in recovery.

My stay here helped save my life! While the program is rigorous and rules are strict - if you throw yourself fully into the process, you will see results. Staff is warm and caring and are always trying to meet clients where they’re at. Hopefully I never need to, but I would return here for treatment if I had to.

This program does work, as much as you want to make it work. I’m going to 100% honest as well, this program is not a walk in the park. What this place, or Jesus in this place, has done with me is kept me sober since October 17th 2021 and grown me up spiritually and maturely as well. Did some work there is an outside vendor. It’s a rehabilitation facility for men recovering from various forms of addiction. They learn how to live off the land and run a farm, everybody I saw there had a smile and a positive attitude, they invited me to eat with the patients and staff, the food was great. I guess if I had that problem that’s a place I want to spend time to get over it.

I sent my 16 yr. old son to TRAILS in September 2023 and he graduated 3 months later. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They taught him how to survive and thrive in the woods of North Carolina. They taught him how to express his feelings and needs in a way that is respectful to everyone around him. They helped him learn about himself and brought his self-talk over to the positive side of things. They taught him that "he can do hard things". My family is so grateful to this group of people who run this program. M.A.R.C. was an incredible resource for me during my recovery. Once I decided I was done fighting my addiction on my own I went to M.A.R.C. I truly believe that had I gone anywhere else I would NOT have faired as well as I did. I am coming up on my 10th year clean& sober& I have Mountain Area Recovery Center to thank for that(& the most incredible counselor I've EVER had). At M.A.R.C. it was like a family. The staff there was kind, respectful& professional, yet we went allowed to get away with anything, lol!! Some of my fondest memories of my recovery are from M.A.R.C.
Unfortunately M.A.R.C. was sold to a HORRIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY B.H.G. this corporation is not about ANYTHING BUT $MONEY$! They can't seem to keep help& the help that does stay have major issues with doing their job.

Came to next step for iop/php after my inpatient stint. this was my first time in rehab and i am here as a result of legal issues, meaning i was here less than willingly. That being said I gained so much from this program, not just in sober time but mentally. The staff is amazing and they really care, as a few of them were former patients of next step themselves. There was not a day that i didnt feel as if i wasn’t important or that my needs werent met.The freedom and the trust is another big part, youre allowed to keep your phone and car, work, vape/smoke, and pretty much do as you please within reason. I hated my time where i did inpatient, but i genuinely enjoyed this program and the time i spent here. Im only 22 so i was the youngest person here for a long while, but i never felt out of place or anything of the sort. This would be a place i recommend 100%.

I’ve been to English Mountain Recovery twice. It is by far the Best recovery program I’ve been to. I’ve been clean 13 months now I Loved it there cause the staff is incredible. The counselor’s are amazing. I had a great experience when I was there, everybody was like family they treated us great like we belong. I would recommend this program to anybody that is struggling and needs help. I really appreciate all the help I got from EMR. Thank you so much.🥰❤️🙏

English mountain is honestly the best rehab I've ever been to. I'm now currently at new hope but I miss my English mountain facilitators soooo much. As well as my therapist, corey. I'm ngl, I wish I was still there instead of new hope because I actually felt like I was getting so much out of the classes and from my therapist. Thomas and corey absolutely deserve pay raises LOL love those dudes. Anyways, thank you so much to everyone there. I just turned 4 months sober a couple days ago and it's all thanks to English mountain, as well as myself.

I had a great experience I was scared because of a bad experience I had at ECU. I cannot think the doctors nurses and tech staff enuff.. Y'all took great care of me without making me feel like a burden and that is what you need whenever you're having a nervous breakdown. Nurses took good care of me without making me feel like I was less than. They made sure I had everything I needed. Both my doctors worked very hard with me and got me on the correct medicines and I am home now and feeling better and brand new than I have in years. The staff here is absolutely amazing . This treatment center saved my life. Even though it is state funded the view on the rehab side was beautiful. My detox was taken care of appropriately, and my mental health was then stabilized. After I got to the rehab side I was given numerous tools and education, I can’t begin to express my gratitude to the staff and the doctors here for outstanding treatment.

I was a resident here in 2021, these people made me feel like a person again, beautiful campus and program. I really enjoyed daily walks and visiting the tree in the cemetery with all of the wind chimes ! Thank you for my foundation in sobriety, im going on 5 years of freedom from active addiction ! Anyone who has been to Crest View Recovery Center in Asheville, NC knows that it is a top-notch facility. You receive 25+ hours a week of extensive therapy, including gender groups, individual counseling, educational groups, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, process groups, trauma groups, etc. They do take you to a 12-step meeting each night as well. All of the therapists are highly experienced masters level clinicians. The weekend activities are amazing, anything from hiking to waterfalls to going out to the movies. All of the staff go ABOVE & BEYOND for every client and you can really tell that their hearts are in it. I recommend Crest View to anyone and everyone.

I went to Crestview broken and hopeless. By the time I reached them I had given up on myself. The admissions staff went above and beyond to help me. I was welcomed with nothing but kindness and understanding. The staff really does know their recovery and were willing to do whatever they could to help me succeed in my long term recovery. I am proud to say that I have over 9 months sober today and owe it to crestview and their staff

I came to Crest View very broken and very sad with my life. The staff there helped me regain the old me. The one on one therapy sessions were the best. I was treated with the utmost respect from all. I also had some medical issues and they were all handled in a timely manor. I was given many more tools to handle my disease. Again I cannot say enough good things about every therapist, tech and doctor there. I have been to many rehabs and this one is far superior in a total recovery of mind, body and spirit.

I enjoyed the cognitive behavioral treatment and the off campus activities. The housing was clean,modern and peaceful.The program allowed me to focus on my recovery,and plug in to local 12 step networks.
