I brought my son to Smoky Mountain Lodge from Texas, with very few options and little understanding of what to expect. Although our journey had its challenges and wasn't always a smooth ride, my son came out of the experience in a better place, with greater clarity and a healthier outlook. The staff at Smoky Mountain Lodge genuinely care about their patients, and that made a difference to our family. They also offer a wonderful family support group that provides guidance, encouragement, and a place to ask questions during what can be an incredibly overwhelming and emotional time. Having that support helped us navigate the unknown and better understand how to support our son. My biggest concern was communication. At times, responses were slower than I would have liked, which was difficult as a parent so far away from my child. However, I also recognize that the staff are caring for many patients and have a tremendous responsibility. Whenever I was able to connect with a staff member, they were courteous, compassionate, and genuinely tried to answer my questions and provide the information I needed. One important piece of advice for other parents: Make sure you have the appropriate Releases of Information (ROIs) completed and in place as early as possible. These are essential for allowing staff to communicate with you about your loved one and provide updates, within the scope of the authorizations. Overall, I am grateful for the care my son received and for the support our family was given during such a difficult chapter of our lives. If you are a parent facing this unfamiliar and often frightening journey, know that you are not alone. You get out what you put in. I went for med management. I havent had a hallucination in weeks after nine years. The key to therapy is you cant hear the answers until you feel safe enough to hear it. Consistent. I love Diana!! She has helped me grow emotionally and mentally. She is such a great therapist. Her knowledge and patience has helped me step back and examine how I do things. I’ve hit rock bottom a few times and she has helped me learn and grow from those falls. I’m a stronger person because of her listening and teaching skills. You have to want to get better and put in the work. The therapists are not magic. They can’t heal you. If you don’t put in the work- you can’t get better. So make sure you are determined to conquer your disease. You can do it. If I can crawl out of the deep pits- you can too. You have to hold on to their words and use the skills they teach you. Be willing to grow. She listens and cares deeply about her guests. I am part of a group therapy also and it’s incredible. Our instructor Angie is amazing. Shout out to Shawn, Karen, Kevin and the new therapist Jackie I've been to a lot of rehab/mental health places and they do things different there you're not going to hear the same thing you hear everywhere else they really give you tools. Tiffany is one of the most caring people I've met and when you leave she makes sure we're all okay and she truly cares about whether we are all okay. I personally had to go twice this year and the second time I was in crisis I called Tiffany and she got me in that day and I will always be thankful for her for that and to everyone who works there, they all get it they've all been in our shoes even the therapist. I've only been gone one day and Tiffany is already called to check on me. I would recommend this place over any other. Shout out to the kitchen staff as well the cooking is amazing! The therapist Jackie, Tiffany, Kevin and Karen those guys will definitely go far and beyond for anyone they sure did for me. Two of the tenets Don and Pree are awesome they will go far and beyond for you also they definitely did for me. I will never forget my experience there it’s been very helpful it pulled me out of a very confusing and dark place. So I want to thank each and everyone of them for saving me. I couldn’t pay for almost 60 days. They helped me get insurance for 8$ a month that pays for my medicine and better yet allows me to get medical treatment like I would on tenncare. They are sweet understanding people. I LOVE my routine when I go. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND. My counselor’s name was Sofia. She worked with me several times a week for a little over a month. She’s by far the best counselor I’ve ever had. She helped me work past my mother’s death and help me get to the route of my addiction issues. The staff here genuinely cares about you. They will go above and beyond. Sofia fought so hard for me in every situation, she never gave up on me. I’ve never had someone in my corner so much that wanted me to succeed in every way. Tracy my favorite tech still checks on me to this day. The facility is brand new, clean, and very nice. If you truly want to get better, this is the place to go. They are always helpful and set you up for free medication if you don’t have health insurance. They have all sorts of programs. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND.
