But the staff was so nice and the girls were so nice that they talked me out of it. The groups were very awesome and really make me think about everything. My therapist, Candace, was wonderful. My counselor’s name was Sofia. She worked with me several times a week for a little over a month. She’s by far the best counselor I’ve ever had. She helped me work past my mother’s death and help me get to the route of my addiction issues. The staff here genuinely cares about you. They will go above and beyond. Sofia fought so hard for me in every situation, she never gave up on me. I’ve never had someone in my corner so much that wanted me to succeed in every way. Tracy my favorite tech still checks on me to this day. The facility is brand new, clean, and very nice. If you truly want to get better, this is the place to go. Consistent. I love Diana!! She has helped me grow emotionally and mentally. She is such a great therapist. Her knowledge and patience has helped me step back and examine how I do things. I’ve hit rock bottom a few times and she has helped me learn and grow from those falls. I’m a stronger person because of her listening and teaching skills. You have to want to get better and put in the work. The therapists are not magic. They can’t heal you. If you don’t put in the work- you can’t get better. So make sure you are determined to conquer your disease. You can do it. If I can crawl out of the deep pits- you can too. You have to hold on to their words and use the skills they teach you. Be willing to grow. She listens and cares deeply about her guests. I am part of a group therapy also and it’s incredible. Our instructor Angie is amazing. Mental patients are NOT always easy to deal with and can have very traumatic life stories that can effect a worker in unplanned ways. That being said, this staff makes the best of what and who they have, and the staff they have actually care about their patients and treat them all like humans, allowing all to be heard and seen. They have the best system for the space that they have and treat everyone fairly. No matter how much you may want to, please do not hug the staff. Haha. They are that phenomenal of human beings. 10/10 ALL THE WAY! Disclaimer for those suffering from HPPD: This facility may not be the best for treating this disorder quite yet. My case has had years to become mild enough to be treated with one self-recommended medication which the doctor did prescribe after listening. However, blanket psych medications may be prescribed because lack of knowledge and research on this particular affliction. It is still a great place to collect your thoughts and get a game plan to help you in life. The staff will give you dozens of resources to walk out the door with when you are discharged and treat you like a human the entire way. Love runs deep in Peninsula. Smell my finger 4 days ago I was admitted here, an spent 5 days the staff was great all very nice some way nicer than others and one I really really disliked a lot he is the sole reason this gets 4 star instead of 5 stars.now the patients I was with where all very nice caring and giving.
