I know BHG has saved MANY lives, so I'm not discouraging anyone from taking that first step at BHG.... THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE AND OPINION. At first it was alright. This was during COVID so only like 10 people could go into the lobby so literally there was always a line around the building to get in, which took well over an hour most days and sometimes 2+hours. I didn't mind that because I was determined to make this work, I didn't like the fact that you had to pay a flat rate every week even if you missed days, and they could & would hold people's dose for that day over the PETTIEST CRAP!!!!! And one weekend there was 2 people walk up to the door at 8:59 (they closed at 9:00am on weekends then) and the security guard ran them out of the door and locked them out and it had literally just turned 9:00! My final straw was the day I asked to do the COWS assessment to increase my dose... I was only at 60mg daily and anyone on methadone will tell you that's no where near enough to completely stop all other drugs without still going through pretty bad withdrawals, but when I asked the nurse told me "we can do the assessment, but he won't go higher than 60 until you have a clean drug screen"................ If 60mg was enough to help me so that I could pass a drug screen, then why would I even need to go up more????? Basically she told me in a round about way, that it was some kind of reward for passing a drug screen.... As in "good job you're clean... Now you can start going up again and catch a buzz for being a good boy\girl" So I called New Hope in Newport, TN and 4 days later I started there and still go there now almost 5 years later! The doctor was so nice and also a recovering opioid addict and just made me feel welcome and assured me that he would get me to the right dose to be affective... ( He also said the same thing about the reward crap before I ever said a word about it)! Mind you this was all in April 2021, so I can't speak on how they are now, I've only heard from other friends in recovery that they still operate about the same way accept now they are open a few hours longer than all other clinics. AGAIN I WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE NOT TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP INTO RECOVERY EVEN AT BHG!!! I'M STILL GRATEFUL THAT THEY WERE THERE THE DAY I CALLED AT 5:01 AM FROM WORK CRYING FROM 2 DAYS OF COLD TURKEY WITHDRAWAL FROM FENTANYL AND THEY ASKED IF I COULD BE THERE IN 2 HOURS! THAT PHONE CALL SAVED MY LIFE, METHADONE SAVED MY LIFE! AND IRREGARDLESS OF MY EXPERIENCE FROM THEN ON, I'M SO GRATEFUL FOR BHG! SO JUST BECAUSE I HAD "NOT SO GREAT" EXPERIENCES DOESN'T MEAN EVERYONE WILL! IF YOU'RE READING THIS BECAUSE YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT GETTING ON METHADONE, THEN DO IT! CALL AND GET THE EARLIEST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT BECAUSE NONE OF US ARE PROMISED ANOTHER BREATH AND YOUR NEXT USE COULD VERY WELL BE THE ONE THAT MAKES YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER, DAUGHTER OR SON, HUSBAND OR WIFE BURY YOU. DO IT FOR YOURSELF! NO MATTER WHAT YOU MAY THINK OR WHAT OTHER PEOPLE (NON ADDICTS) SAY, WE'RE NOT BAD PEOPLE TRYING TO BE GOOD, WE'RE SICK PEOPLE TRYING TO GET WELL AND THIS IS DEFINITELY A GOOD TOOL TOO HELP YOU FEEL WELL AGAIN. GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY BOOK 😁

I keep seeing posts saying this company is “money hungry” but one thing is, Citico works WITH you. I couldn’t pay for almost 60 days. They helped me get insurance for 8$ a month that pays for my medicine and better yet allows me to get medical treatment like I would on tenncare. They are sweet understanding people. I LOVE my routine when I go. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND. Cause she’s been with me from the beginning helping me get up on my dosage milligrams.

After 10 years of being treated like trash at BHG … I can’t say enough good things about TLC in maryville. TLC is gold standard while bhg barely meet minimum requirements to even be considered a medical facility, the way bhg treats you should be illegal I feel sorry for any individual going there and hope I can convince you to come check them out. You won’t believe the difference or the amount of lies that’s you have been told about state laws when it’s really …… company policy ……… Leave bhg go TLC You won’t be sorry

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

DRD Management – Citico Street works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive care without leaving their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically receive intensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Many programs promote clients' long-term sobriety through recovery-focused life skills training and ancillary services, such as peer coaching. Medication assisted treatment (MAT), including medication induction and maintenance, are common in outpatient care. Most facilities offer multiple levels of care to accommodate clients' evolving needs, including intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient programming.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Typical cognitive behavioral therapy in Tennessee involves recognizing negative thinking and learning techniques to change that thinking and create new, positive behaviors. Strategies may include SMART goals, journaling, and situation exposure.

Counseling in Tennessee that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach can last from six to 12 months. During that time, you'll develop skills in the areas of distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Family therapy uses a structured environment to address the complexities of addiction and the negative influences it has on the family unit. Therapists work with family members to develop effective coping and communication strategies that support their loved one's recovery while also focusing on the health and well being of each family member.

This place helped my family overcome the worst and most traumatic moment. I'm thankful for everything they did back then. We had some issues with the facility during that time but nothing too serious.
