I see people saying if you don't have insurance you won't get help, that's NOT true. There's Safety Net if you don't qualify for Tennecare. We are very pleased with the work from Therapist, Kaitlyn, Care Manager, Kreistyn and also from the friendly professionalism of Front Desk Receptionist, Luisa. Our Family has greatly prospered through various techniques to apply during moments of anger, sadness or other overwhelming emotions. The Staff is always very accommodating to our school schedules and does their very best to see our Children as often as needed. Since the initial intakes for each Child, this office has been consistently caring and honest in the services that they offer. My counselor’s name was Sofia. She worked with me several times a week for a little over a month. She’s by far the best counselor I’ve ever had. She helped me work past my mother’s death and help me get to the route of my addiction issues. The staff here genuinely cares about you. They will go above and beyond. Sofia fought so hard for me in every situation, she never gave up on me. I’ve never had someone in my corner so much that wanted me to succeed in every way. Tracy my favorite tech still checks on me to this day. The facility is brand new, clean, and very nice. If you truly want to get better, this is the place to go. This person made significant progress there from both therapy, group topics, nutrition, and overall wellness. The wrap around care that extends into post discharge support groups and personal contact from their alumni specialist, Buffy, as well as family support groups which welcome family even after discharge and all during the recovery journey, is exceptional. While this person has a difficult diagnosis that has required more than one admission, the continuity of care, the non judgmental welcome back, the hope they extend, and the therapists that (almost all of them) challenge the client to examine deeper foundational beliefs and behaviors that contribute to their cycles and suffering, were very very good, and just what our family memeber needed when ready to despair. SML involve family In the recovery process which can be tricky, but we always accepted the invitation to participate in hopes that our family member would be well again. The location in a beautiful mountain setting is a huge part of the wellness package. Bears wander through, and snow falls covering everything with white, and inspires the clients to hope again. SML also has their nearby Pasadena Villa residential PHP which has proved essential for our family member to step down but still have continuity of care. Highly recommend. He was there for 3 weeks June into July and would have definitely continued thru except for dealing with some insomnia issues that caused him to miss groups, activities and all the great experiences Pasadena offers. In just his short time he developed social skills, independence and maturity. The facility is so beautiful and feel grateful, blessed he was able to experience what Smokey Mountain has to offer. I couldn’t pay for almost 60 days. They helped me get insurance for 8$ a month that pays for my medicine and better yet allows me to get medical treatment like I would on tenncare. They are sweet understanding people. I LOVE my routine when I go. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND. I couldn’t pay for almost 60 days. They helped me get insurance for 8$ a month that pays for my medicine and better yet allows me to get medical treatment like I would on tenncare. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND. Consistent. I love Diana!! She has helped me grow emotionally and mentally. She is such a great therapist. Her knowledge and patience has helped me step back and examine how I do things. I’ve hit rock bottom a few times and she has helped me learn and grow from those falls. I’m a stronger person because of her listening and teaching skills. You have to want to get better and put in the work. The therapists are not magic. They can’t heal you. If you don’t put in the work- you can’t get better. So make sure you are determined to conquer your disease. You can do it. If I can crawl out of the deep pits- you can too. You have to hold on to their words and use the skills they teach you. Be willing to grow. She listens and cares deeply about her guests. I am part of a group therapy also and it’s incredible. Our instructor Angie is amazing.
