About the Facility

If you need faith based addiction treatment for adults in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Life Changers Outreach can help. This is a one year residential treatment program that shows you how to leave your old habits behind and embrace a healthier way of life. It’s free to participate but you have to be willing to change and grow spiritually.

Their goal is to help you overcome your dependency on drugs and alcohol by showing you how to strengthen your relationship with God. While you’re here, you’ll read your Bible and attend educational workshops that show you how to approach everyday life in a Christ focused way. As you lean into your faith, it will become easier to control your anger, strengthen your relationships, and forgive others. All of these steps should make you less likely to reach for harmful substances to solve your problems.

While devotional training is a huge part of your treatment plan, you’ll also participate in work therapy during your stay. Having somewhere to go every day helps keep you accountable, hardworking, and dedicated. It also shows you the importance of helping others, which might make you want to serve your community when you get home.

One feature I appreciate about this facility is that they hold special campuswide gatherings on a regular basis. This allows everyone to come together, sing worship music, and socialize with one another. You’ll have the chance to listen to a sermon and reflect on what the message means to you.

People who have participated in this program say that it has the power to change lives. One said that when they left treatment, they weren’t only free of their addictions but they also felt changed on a heart level. While the structure seems strict, they say that the rigidity kept them accountable.

book iconAlcoholism

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a treatable condition characterized by uncontrolled consumption of alcohol which continues despite negative consequences. Treatment options for alcohol addiction include inpatient or outpatient alcohol rehab in Tennessee. Therapeutic methods include group and individual therapy, medication, and holistic therapies. Aftercare is often provided through 12-step support groups, which offer ongoing accountability and encouragement.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

In Tennessee, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide integrated care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Offered on an outpatient or inpatient basis, addiction experts utilize evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), together with recovery and skills groups, to address both disorders and promote mental health. You’ll also receive comprehensive aftercare planning and relapse prevention training.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

file-medical iconSubstance Abuse

Substance abuse treatment in Tennessee is available in addiction treatment centers, where experienced addiction professionals can treat both substance use disorders. Typically, clinicians use a range of evidence-based therapies such as a biopsychosocial assessment, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to get a complete picture of your mental health, support systems, and motivation to change. Through an individualized treatment plan, you’ll receive the support you need to achieve long-term sobriety through new skills and relapse prevention strategies.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

house-medical iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
