About High Focus Centers Jenkintown Outpatient Treatment Center

High Focus Treatment Centers used to be called Rehab After Work. They are based in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. They have outpatient programs for adults, with different tracks for men and women. There’s also an intensive outpatient program for teens ages 14-18.

For adults, outpatient programs can consist of partial hospitalization, which is a day program that meets every weekday for four hours per session. This program can include cognitive behavioral therapy and commitment therapy. These approaches are used to address any underlying health conditions under your addiction. A descaled alternative is intensive outpatient care, which reduces the lengths of sessions.

Women may not feel comfortable in a mixed gender setting. A woman’s only program is designed around women’s issues, such as trauma, abuse, and PTSD. This track can help you develop stronger coping mechanisms so your resilience strengthens.

A teen program is also available for youths who feel anxiety, depression, were bullied, or who have abused drugs to cope with problems. This track encourages you to handle stress in school, home, and first jobs without resorting to drugs. That way, your social and cognitive skills will be stronger and healthier.

Can we say safe space?!?! From day one each person that I came across wanted to make sure that I had what I needed, even though I did not always know what I needed. I just knew I needed help and was ready to receive and accept the help that was being offered to me.From intake, and being placed into PHP, each person was kind and gentle with me. And I needed this because I was in a desperate place. I met my therapist, Linnea, and she allowed me the space and time to be able to release what I had been dealing with over many years. She pushed me in a subtle way, but it was what I needed. I am not one to just talk about my "stuff" but the level of comfortability that I felt allowed me to release. Through the days and the different conversations, music therapy, drama therapy, artistic therapy, I released in a positive way. I can't leave anyone out because they were all awesome too! Tori, PJ, and this is where I met LaTreena for the first time.I moved from PHP to IOP and LaTreena stepped in to help me continue with my journey. I was unsure because I did not want to lose what I had gained in PHP. However IOP allowed me to walk in what I learned in PHP. LaTreena stood on business with me and did not allow me to doubt myself. She encouraged me in a geniune and real way. I gained courage, strength and power that I did not know that I had because I had packed for so long, I lost it.When I say, these ladies are built for this work, top tier!I appreciate each and everyone of you! My healing journey is still ongoing but THANK YOU for helping me to get where I am today!I am not perfect, I accept that I am not perfect, however I am growing and evolving beautifully every day!-Sasscy

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare. Rehab After Work & Rehab After School offers various outpatient therapy skills support and therapy groups designed for those that have abused drugs and/or alcohol in the past but are no longer using them. Some of these groups include age-specific groups, gender specific as well as co-ed groups, early recovery skills groups and co-dependency groups.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
These programs are designed for individuals that have been using drugs or alcohol and need frequent sessions to maintain abstinence. Some clients attend this outpatient addiction treatment program to gain control over their substance use problems before further inpatient treatment is required. Other clients attend this program as a step-down outpatient therapy option following an inpatient stay. During the client’s initial appointment or evaluation, they can help to determine which type of program is most appropriate and if an inpatient option is necessary, they can make recommendations at that time. Rehab After Work - Old York Road's focus is on education, community building, and group therapy. Groups are kept to an average of 8 members so all individuals get the focus needed for successful outpatient therapy. Family members, parents, and/or support persons are required to be involved in the individual’s treatment and are counseled as well to help their loved ones succeed.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. In addition to Rehab After Work - Old York Road's family outpatient therapy offered as part of the IOP, family therapy sessions are provided as individualized family therapy for the specific client and their family members. These appointments will be made as requested by the client, family, or counselor during the day or evening hours. Family therapy appointments can be made for any type of family members.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Sound therapy (aka sound healing or vibrational medicine) uses sonic vibrations to stimulate healing at the cellular level. Vibrations, either from the human voice or resonant objects like tuning forks, gongs, or Tibetan bowls, affect cellular resonance in the body, which can help heal the impact of anxiety, depression, trauma, and more.

I want express the very good quality of service and resources provided in my experience with the IOP at HFC/The Light Program. I found very good value in the processes and various activities offered. I was inexperienced at group therapy and interactions with other participants. But the environment and organizational culture made it very comfortable. Our therapist did well at navigating the flow of subjects and conversations while providing useful insight to a diverse group of participants. I want to thank HFC for the quality of service provided.

The therapists I interacted with, Karl and Meredith, went above and beyond in terms of outreach and caring. As people recovered and transitioned to lower levels of care, there was always a follow-up plan, so no one was ever left without resources. Top-notch therapeutic support. The only issues were with the glitchy online patient portal, which just didn’t work as it should.
