Do not fall for all of the fake reviews! Lifeways is not a hospital. They feed you more, and better in jail than they do here. Staff is extremely lazy and unprofessional. They lie all the time and most of them are rude and disrespectful. Shelly thinks she's the CEO of this place and tells Everyone what to do and then acts like she's your friend. She's not the only rude, disrespectful lazy liar there though. They fed us rotten potatoes for dinner one night, and everyone put in grievances about it. They didn't do a thing. They have a perfectly good kitchen to hire their own kitchen staff for, but instead they hire a third party "life's kitchen" that make mistakes constantly and feed you the same small portions pretty much every single day. It costs 1500 dollars a night to stay there and yet they don't have the money to feed the patients decent meals.

When I came to Lifeways hospital I was in very deep crisis and I cannot stress enough that the amazing workers there saved my life. I had a much better experience there than either of the 2 other inpatients I've been in. Cannot recommend them enough!

In and out of hospitals since I was a kid. Lifeways was - by far - the most hospitable. The staff were great, the food was good, and I actually left feeling like maybe I would like to volunteer, or otherwise try to give some effort of my own to help out the team. So, BIG THANKS and kudos to the team… from “Pili”. Keep up the great work, you all deserve doughnuts and a raise! Cheers!🍻

Accepted Insurance

Safe Haven Hospital of Treasure Valley works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to the treatment. Safe Haven offers a secure behavioral and mental health hospital with expert psychiatric staff that is able to serve in an inpatient and outpatient basis.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

The staff is ridiculously bad. It makes me laugh how bad it is; they are such selfish people that they do not even care to treat you well for your recovery, they treat you as if you were less than them!

Third facility for my teen daughter. Last two were a waste of time. Lifeway's extensive program was what turned her around

Response from the owner

I go to Lifeways in Ontario Oregon and they are SO nice to me! I’m on the ACT team and my nurse practitioner is wonderful! Her name is Kiersten Hogg and she tries so hard to help me with my mental health medication and my counselor is named Katrina and she really helps me a lot with ART and CBT! And my favorite is Maggie! She is SO nice to me! She genuinely cares about me and my mental health! And Treven and DJ are very nice also they are my peer supports! Lifeways is a really nice place to go for your mental health! But no matter how hard they try the entity still blocks my mental health medication and my addiction medication! The entity is something under the ground and under the floorboards and it tortures me excruciatingly bad and it blocks my desperately needed mental health and addiction medications! But over all Lifeways is wonderful and they have helped me SO much!

Refused to help me during a crisis due to being a Type 1 diabetic. Very careless about you and your life. Being treated disrespectfully didn't help me in my time of need. Made me feel worthless

The director of nursing is very unprofessional. And the director of the hospital refused to allow me access to my kid claiming that the hospital's policy is that the patients are not allowed visits for 72 hours and everyone is very unprofessional and more worried about policy than the patients. My kid is in voluntarily and not on a 72 hrs hold

Realistically, zero stars. Came here to detox from prescription medication and had my sterling silver cross necklace stolen from me. It was on my inventory, but when I left, they conveniently couldn’t find it. I was also missing a Winco gift card from my purse as well. They blocked incoming calls for me as well. I don’t know what is going on at this place, but they clearly are shady and Don’t care about the well-being of the people that they’re treating.

Wow!!. . I can't believe anyone could give a rating higher than this... Would give a ZERO if I could..I was trying to reach a loved one and they left me on speaker phone (Could hear them in the background just joking away and not even making an attempt to contact love one)... SICKENING!!...CAN YOU IMAGINE IF YOU HAD A LOVE ONE AT LIFEWAY'S AND CANNOT CONTACT THEM BECAUSE OF A BUNCH OF VERY UNPROFESSIONAL NURSE'S AND STAFF???
