This can t be a hospital how is this place still running well barely running. My best friend was rushed here in the ambulance. They don t have certain services like an ultrasound tech or CT. They are not equipped to handle certain emergency. The service and staff is terrible.. waited 45 mins for towels but the staff are sitting at the desk talking about 3 bedrooms and 2 car garage Rooms are filthy and floors this is more like a upscale nursing home. This place need to be shut down seriously .. and lord don t let me mention HIPAA cause these staff definitely not following that I can literally sit here and tell you about most of the patients on the floor so sad my friend is signing her self out and we will be on our way to a REAL HOSPITAL

The service is horrible , I brought my husband here after him being at another hospital for 11 hours with no treatment or anything at all to come here and receive the same exact thing he left at the previous hospital. The Triage is a joke. Prioritzing the patients needs is beyond horrible. I would NOT recommend anyone patronizing this hospital!!!!! This is their Triage window. NOONE IS THERE TO SERVE ANYONE!!!!!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I wouldn’t suggest this hospital for nobody they don’t care about their patient. To make a king story short my mom came in jan24 2925 for shortness of breath and fell in their care twice the second fall is what ended her life; nobody was monitoring her, and they lied about the cause of her death.

Came here to south shore hospital to the ER no one was in the lobby but my brother that was trying to see the doctor. We been waiting for over 2 hours we let them know that he had a fever of 101-103 for the last 4 days and that he is in pain from his head to his toes. As im writing this now no one still haven’t came to see if he okay or not haven’t ckecked his vitals yet witch is crazy to me. Also as u see no one is at the station to info us of anything thats going on to see a doctor. I saw a young lady walk pass that supposed to be at the station have not came out or anything. Its crazy how there are workers here thats not doing the job that pay them. Im very disappointed in this hospital and there workers. Its 3 hours now this is very sad.

I went to the ER in severe pain on 2/10. Walked into the ER and the receptionist just sat there for 25 mins before acknowledging me. Guy was rude, and took his sweet time. Like dude I'm about to puke all over, why do you work here if you don't have urgency? Then finally got my info taken and sent to the next room. People in the next room went being help. Triage was empty for an hour. When someone came out, they took a lady that came after me. Mind you we haven't been triaged so severity hadnt been determined. This person seemed fine while I was huddled over. This places intake staff is careless and oblivious. They have an emergency button that they refused to respond too. I left the hospital and got illicit drugs to treat my pain temporarily until I can get into a different hospital. This is garbage treatment and this places intake staff needs to be fired.

The worst hospital I was having chest pains and the EMT'S brought me to this place. Instead of bringing me into the Emergency room they put me in the waiting room. Next time I am having chest pains I will walk to the University of Chicago I am not joking.... I would walk 6 miles away with chest pains than return to South shore. Never again...
