We went for the first time ever yesterday and have already made reservations to come back with family next week! Everything we had was absolutely wonderful, some of the best food I ve had at any establishment. The staff and owner were very very kind and welcoming to us. A well run full dinner service that takes it s time and is such a refreshing change of pace from the corporate restaurant industry turning tables as fast as they can. We really appreciate the intimate feel and care that was put into every facet of our meal and time here. Thank you.

I loved everything about this place. 1st thing to know is that reservations are required: even with an empty restaurant, they won't seat walk-ins. Food is uniformly exceptional, creative and prepared to a high standard. Ask about portion sizes as some of the dishes can feed six people by themselves. Great food. Great service.

Seriously the best Italian food anywhere. The Cesar salad is sublime. The grilled steak with onion knocked my socks off. The mushroom pasta is my absolute favorite pasta of all time. I keep bringing friends here and they keep thanking me and telling me La Cena is their new favorite. Love this place.

Best Italian dinner I’ve had. Waitstaff is awesome. They have the best escargot which comes on a plate of about 20 of the little snails if you haven’t been, GO. But make reservations and show up on time.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. We were first timers. The restaurant is small & quaint, very personable. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. As opposed to many other fine dining places, it was very easy to carry on a conversation as the restaurant has a very quiet atmosphere. The service was excellent. They did a great job of explaining the different dishes, the menu & the different types of pasta/noodles that are handmade there. We were served by three different people in addition to the owner coming to ask how we were doing in the midst of our meal. It felt like we had more than one person who was very aware of where we were in our dining experience. We eat out regularly & this was a first for us…. In addition to impeccable service, the food did not disappoint. Many times the portions tend to be small in upscale restaurants. That is certainly not the case here. We took home more than we ate from our dishes. The owner coming & checking on us was the icing on the cake. We were too full for dessert, but we will definitely be going back in the near future. The only negative from this experience was a note on the menu below the appetizers that stated if a patron decided to get an appetizer as their meal, there would be an additional $13 upcharge. This is something I do fairly often because I don’t eat a lot & I like to have more than one taste option as my meal. So I order two appetizers instead of getting one entrée. This wasn’t the case last night but it would’ve been a huge turn off if I was charged a significantly higher price because I chose this option. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Definitely a place to check out…

Amazing premium experience from start to finish. The servers were extremely knowledgeable and attentive. The quiet elegance of the restaurant was a welcome respite after a long day, and the tagliatelle albanese was the best pasta I’ve ever had in Jacksonville and I’ll definitely be back again.

Best Italian restaurant and service is outstanding. Large portions, great homemade pasta and bread to complement the food. Tried a new Amarone as recommended and it was delicious. When we visit Jacksonville this is always on our list of "things to do".

By far, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time! The service was outstanding and the food was incredible. The portion sizes are unbelievable! The owner was kind and very friendly with everyone in the restaurant. We enjoyed learning about his background and talking about different cuisines. My family and I have tried several Italian restaurants in the Jacksonville area and La Cena is miles ahead of them all. We can’t wait to go back!
