About Community Turning Point

Community Turning Point provides adult addiction services alongside Coffee County non profit organization Children’s Advocacy Center, Inc. Based in Tullahoma, Tennessee, the Children’s Advocacy Center is a coordinated care network founded in late 2004 by local activists.

Also known as CAC, it works with various providers like Community Turning Point to prevent and end child neglect and abuse, a traumatic trigger for addiction behavior in adults. This is an LGBTQIA+ safe space, with support available to clients of all ages.

Adult Outpatient Services in an Office Setting

Community Turning Point provides outpatient services to men and women who are struggling with drug and alcohol use. Outpatient services include individual and group therapy with relapse prevention education as part of the program.

They serve the local residents of Tullahoma, Tennessee and people in the surrounding areas. On admission you’ll receive an evaluation that allows the therapist to develop a customized treatment program that focuses on recovery, relapse prevention, and long-term maintenance.

They use a community-based approach that supports integration of your care with local communities resources. The facility is located in an office building with private environments for counseling sessions.

Family Advocacy & Prevention Services

Support is offered to provide young people and families with the resources they need to address addiction and trauma.

The facility is located near downtown and in close proximity to the historic district. It is just a short drive from natural sites such as Rutledge Falls and Short Springs Natural Area for nature-based healing and reflection.

Nearby is the Frazier McEwen Park with plenty of green spaces and walking trails and just a short distance away is the South Jackson Civic Center and Tullahoma Fine Arts Center that provide additional opportunities to engage in the community.

I wish to share that my brother with dementia was a resident in The Lantern at Morning Pointe. Even though he was younger than most, he was happy and VERY well cared for. Both Stacey and Tana were WONDERFUL, keeping me informed of any needs. I was so comfortable having him there (I am in SC) - he had been previously living with our 97 year old Mom and was helping take care of her for 6+ years after Daddy died. She was the brains, he, the brawn 😊 But when she passed, I knew my brother was incapable of living independently. Recently an unforeseen and very unfortunate situation arose concerning his stay at Morning Pointe. Tana, Stacey, and Megan were SO VERY supportive. These ladies were instrumental in helping make this stressful situation into one that hopefully works out for the best. My brother has been through much, as have all in our family. Thank you, Tana and Stacey, for all your help and for showing such love and care for my brother.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your family’s story. Your words mean more than we can express. It was truly an honor to care for your brother and to be a part of his journey here at The Lantern. Stacey, Tana, and Megan are incredibly dedicated to our residents and families, and your kind recognition of their support and compassion means the world to them — and to all of us.

We know how difficult it can be to navigate care from afar, and we’re grateful for the trust you placed in us. Your brother will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Morning Pointe Tullahoma has been great for my Mother! She loves the small size, because she gets know the other residents - not like the last place she was. The staff is caring and knows her by name. They even know her quirks! She loves the food and the activities, especially bingo on Tuesdays and Thursdays! There is no place else she would rather be.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful feedback, Mark. We’re delighted to know your mother feels at home here at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma. The small, close-knit setting is truly special, and it makes us so happy that she’s enjoying friendships, great meals, and, of course, bingo days! Our team loves getting to know each resident personally — quirks and all — and it means the world to hear how much that care and connection have made a difference. We’re honored to be the place she chooses to be.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Morning Pointe has provided a very safe, clean and welcoming home for my aunt since last December. She is very happy and well cared for. She loves the staff and the food. Tana and her staff handle the day to day operation with dignity and grace. We feel blessed to have a facility like Morning Pointe where she can call home! When I have needed assistance with any issue they have been very helpful and understanding.

Response from the owner

It means so much to know that our associates, including Tana and her team, have been able to support your family with compassion and understanding. We feel truly blessed to be part of her life and are grateful for your trust in us.
