I was so comfortable having him there (I am in SC) - he had been previously living with our 97 year old Mom and was helping take care of her for 6+ years after Daddy died. She was the brains, he, the brawn 😊 But when she passed, I knew my brother was incapable of living independently. Recently an unforeseen and very unfortunate situation arose concerning his stay at Morning Pointe. Tana, Stacey, and Megan were SO VERY supportive. These ladies were instrumental in helping make this stressful situation into one that hopefully works out for the best. My brother has been through much, as have all in our family. If you're seeking validation for a self-diagnosis or unnecessary medication, this isn't the place for you. However, if genuine mental health support and tangible results are what you seek, Dr. Kavur is unparalleled. Personally, after enduring a futile cycle of ineffective medications elsewhere, I am optimistic that the expertise and dedication of Dr. Kavur and his team will soon guide me off this revolving medication merry-go-round. I had only been to 1 other treatment center (back in the 90's, it was 12 Step, secular recovery) The way I found S2L was by no doubt God doing for me what I couldn't do for myself. These ladies poured their hearts & souls into my spirit, reminding me of: who I am in Christ & who GOD is & how GOD sees me. I was only able to stay for 2 weeks due to health complications that were beyond S2L's capabilities. But what I can say is, after only 2 weeks, I came home to chaos with family & intense physical pain & I never once wanted to use alcohol or anything else to change the way I felt. The staff there are truly committed to the people they serve & unselfishly go out of their way to lift you up with the Word of God. I've been home for a little over a week now, my dad still hates me & I'm looking for somewhere to live with no clue how things will work out. However, I know Who is in control & I'm not worried about these things. I feel confident in Christ, he's always pursued me & has always provided. The only other things I want to add are: 1. like most all treatment centers there are strict rules to abide by, go in with an open mind. These rules are for your good. 2. Kim usually doses me 2 out of 3 days a week and gives me my takehome most times, and she, as well as the staff follow procedure. Very professional, but yet understanding and no judgement. There's every reason you can talk truthfully to any one of them. And then there's Elijah. Oh Elijah.... wouldn't be the same without him and his open eye. Nothing gets past him. He's a wonderful man of God. He and anyone here will go out of their way to help. Another thing I want to mention is the knowledge I've gained from Kim as far as other medical issues. Mindy is also great with things like drawing blood, for instance. That's a HUGE deal. If it doesn't work out, it's because my veins are small. They will not keep hurting you and one nurse doesn't mind giving another one a shot at it. Last but not least, gotta love Chad and Ken!! My Family is the best!! They did an EKG right away along with blood work. We ended up staying overnight. Hubby had cath surgery the next morning. He ended up having 2 blockages (not too bad). We went home that night and he's now on meds for his heart. I will say that everyone in the ER and on the 2nd floor were amazing. The cardiologist was so down to earth and very informative. He made me physically ill and mentally distressed, for six months, along with costing me hundreds of dollars. I brought him my last doctor's paperwork, which clearly states I have extreme anxiety and PTSD, resulting from the death of my girlfriend. He lied to me and said he was treating my anxiety and PTSD with medication, but secretly prescribing me medication for some obscure diagnosis he THINKS I MIGHT have. I didn't know what he was doing until one of the medications he prescribed me made me so high and aggressive, I violently attacked someone. I informed him about this and he said he wanted me to take the medication for another whole month. I told him that's not possible, it makes me so high I get physically ill and act out violently. He called me a drug addict and put in my permanent file that I was just seeking specific drugs from him. Now I can't even go to another doctor for the help I need, and have to explain this to my parole officer. Area for Improvement: One concern I experienced was with the telephone system. On several occasions, someone would answer the phone and then hang up without speaking. Additionally, when I did call back the automated message stated that all staff were busy and instructed caller to press 1 for reception. This made it somewhat difficult to reach someone when assistance was needed. Improving the telephone response process and ensuring callers are connected appropriately would enhance the overall experience. Positivity 1 month ago they did have group therapy sessions. I'm glad I had the services. I'm not certain the social worker helped me. I did feel like I was in a jail. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit her, there. She was in really good spirits, elated to see her brother, her mom, and me. Caring for the mentally ill has to be one of the most difficult services to perform, wouldn't you think? I sure do. From what I saw yesterday, I am very glad that Trustpoint is willing to take on such a difficult task. The place was as "clean as a whistle." The staff was very knowledgeable about their procedures. They were courteous, helpful while at the same time there was an atmosphere of firmness. A good firmness. Sky L 5 months ago I struggled with Xanax addiction for a couple years & I went to Genesis November 8, 2023 & spent 4 days. I tried weaning off myself & had seizures. So, I went to Genesis & the Experience was awesome. They kept me comfortable & I have been Xanax free sine November 8, 2023. Fast forward to this year & I checked myself into Genesis once again February 9, 2026 & spent 6 days coming off of Kratom 7oh!!! This drug is extremely addictive & dangerous! 7oh is sold in gas stations & vape shops & is sold as Kratom, however I can honestly say it is NOT KRATOM!! I have taken Kratom in the past & it was nothing like this! This garbage had me hooked the 1st time I tried it. It was extremely bad as I spend a lot of money over the past several months using this for pain & energy. Just like I did with Xanax, I tried weaning off of it, but I couldn't. The withdrawals are horrible!!! They say it's 13x stronger than morphine & I believe that!! They call it "gas station heroine" for a reason. However, I wasn't aware of that until I was already hooked. The lady at the vape shop recommended them & that's the only reason I tried them. Once again, Genesis helped me by keeping me comfortable through the withdrawal symptoms. They were minor with the treatment the Dr's ordered for me. If you're on the 7oh I highly recommend you coming here for treatment & I highly recommend you to NEVER try it if you haven't already. I'm working with my governor & congress to get it out of TN!!!! The only bad things I can say are if the Dr orders Phenergan (I've taken it for at least 20yrs) the nurses will make you take zofran first for nausea & then you must wait 2hrs before they will give you the medicine you need! Also, the cafeteria food is horrible!!! Thankfully Genesis has soup, sandwiches (the cafeteria brings them, ham or turkey) chips, protein bars, granola bars, a refrigerator full of Pepsi products & Sundrop, ice cream in the freezer, cookies, etc...so you won't go hungry. Also, you get a cigarette break every hour on the half hour. I highly recommend them if you're struggling with any type of addiction. Again, NEVER TAKE 7OH!!!!!!! Amanda Netherton 8 months ago	3
