Kimberly Lee 1 month ago People don’t usually consider rehabilitation to be a “pleasurable” experience. We associate rehabilitation with discomfort and moving away from the feeling of pleasure. Because that is what we were seeking through drugs and alcohol; pleasure and comfort. The day I returned home from S2L, someone asked me if my time in recovery had been difficult. My answer was, “It was not nearly as difficult as it probably could have been or should have been. Though there are people who struggle more than others.” After I had some time to really consider that question and my answer, I realized that the reason my experience had seemingly been so easy was because I was finally doing what God was calling me to do. Living a life of surrender to His will. The difficult part for me, was the life I was living before treatment, when I was trying to live my life according to my own will. When we reach a place of desperation where we are willing to surrender all, that is when true healing can take place. The Lord is working through this ministry. They are working in accordance with God’s will. They are saving lives, both physically and more importantly spiritually. I am eternally grateful for this place and for the staff. They want to see people live lives of abundance. It is a beacon set on a hill, where Christ’s light shines. Jesus Garcia 1 year ago I've been going to Centerstone for over a year now and I've had nothing but good experiences with them. I've met two of the therapists and they are both wonderful. I haven't had any problems with getting medication or changing medication when needed. I've seen at least 4 different case managers and they have all helped me out tremendously. I really don't have anything negative to say about Centerstone or any of their staff. Everyone I've met has been incredibly nice and helpful with all the help I've needed. The therapists I have seen could be better I’m not going to bash their names and put it all over the place but I was told years ago that my therapist is supposed to make me feel better and they are supposed to help me but they weren’t really being that positive about things they made me feel like I was being scolded sort of it’s hard to explain how I feel but I don’t feel like they understand me at ALL and I put 5 stars because overall with CenterStone in general has been awesome at helping me it’s just the certain therapists that aren’t that helpful.I guess you just have to find the right person who understands you and I hope I can find that. However, if genuine mental health support and tangible results are what you seek, Dr. Kavur is unparalleled. They were there when I needed them. Staff members were awesome, took the time to listen and understand my situation. Dr. M. Slatton, Dr. L. Atkinson, and case manager Grace Reynolds were my doctors, friends, and most of all my rock. My therapist Dr. Slatton was there to help me with my problems and mental health. Always gave the right advice. Dr. Atkinson made sure that my meds were right for me. And case manager Grace Reynolds has made sure that I had everything I needed to get and always asked if there was anything that she can help me with even if it was food transportation. Always had her heart to help me in any of my needs. Overall, my five years experience at this facility which includes staffs and personnel, it was excellent. It's not that no one wants to answer I was told that corporate wants people to use OAS. This policy was aggressively forced on me in another centerstone location. I goto this location and was recently told that the location is now enforcing this policy and are telling their front desk to do as was discussed to me ehich is to tranfer to OAS. Was told they aren't aloud to help appontment scheduling eity myself. I requested a transfer to make an appointment with my provider at their native locafion and was sent to OAS anyways. Unless you call OAS, This seems to be a policy moving forward. Calling corporate seems to make it worse so ide suggest users going forward give up on the idea of a perfect solution it didn't end well for me last centerstone I was at. I hope this helps. Restoration and recovery is Not something you earn or a road map you must follow...I learned this after multiple failed attempts and looking for answers using nearly all the traditional methods. Some provided temporary results in my behavior but I seemed to go back to bad habits, no matter what recovery program I tried. I discovered areas of my life that were unhealthy that I didn't even recognize and we are all a work in progress and can be set free from the law of sin waging war in our hearts and minds and be transformed.
