Mindy, Kim, Constance my counselor, kierra.. and others ..I'm really upset over the people who owns BHG in Stevenson.. They have decided to shutdown the clinic we have in Stevenson . The people that works there, truly care for the patients. I remember one year there was snow on the road and no one person was told to open the clinic .. one nurse Mindy ( maybe there where a few others) .. she showed up for us,because she didn't want us to be miserable! .Lord if only everybody was as thoughtful as all the people who works at BHG in Stevenson.. it would be a better world.. I wish the people shutting them down was as thoughtful caring and understanding as all of them where with us .. but it's such a shame when money matters more than the people u are supposed to be helping.. money and greed has ruined so many lives .. I love Mindy and Constance! Great counselors and staff, altogether. I would also like to mention a few more. Kim usually doses me 2 out of 3 days a week and gives me my takehome most times, and she, as well as the staff follow procedure. Very professional, but yet understanding and no judgement. There's every reason you can talk truthfully to any one of them. And then there's Elijah. Oh Elijah.... wouldn't be the same without him and his open eye. Nothing gets past him. He's a wonderful man of God. He and anyone here will go out of their way to help. Another thing I want to mention is the knowledge I've gained from Kim as far as other medical issues. Mindy is also great with things like drawing blood, for instance. That's a HUGE deal. If it doesn't work out, it's because my veins are small. They will not keep hurting you and one nurse doesn't mind giving another one a shot at it. Last but not least, gotta love Chad and Ken!! My Family is the best!! I love you, Mindy, Kim, Constance, Elijah, Ken, Chad, Carol, Cierra(sp?), and all my family here. I hope I left no one out. I don't know what I'd do without their listening ears and kind smiles and caring eyes. They all are equally Godsent. As Kid Rock says, To all you crackheads, you critics, you cynics, and all my heroes at the methadone clinic!!! BAWITTABA!! My new counselor, Carol, is sweet. I haven't known her long, but she and Scott(my previous counselor) has helped me probably more than any other I've had here. I know a few staff members put in a word to get me that help. I also felt I wasn't heard during my psych eval and felt I had an additional diagnosis. After a year of therapy and psychiatrist appts, they did amend my diagnosis..they listened to me and had evidence to back their diagnosis. They did right by me. Sarah Dettweiler is the psychiatrist I have been seeing and she's very good at what she does..she's calm and very nice..not intimidating and listens! Brenda..I had an episode at her when I was waiting for my medicine and this sweet lady was always very very nice. Also I had a few counselors I wasn't happy with and they switched me to Brittany...she's truly the best I've ever had. I feel my care is safe in their hands and I trust them! Karma 1 year ago I had an extremely abusive childhood. It takes a lot for me to learn to open up. I’d been hospitalized over 20 times in 3 years for hurting myself. I never thought I’d be able to get even slightly better. I was told I was going to live in a facility for the mentally ill and disabled. But i have one last try here! I’m harm free for over a year! Looking back, I’m very grateful I listened to their recommendation. I clearly wouldn’t have been there in the first place if I had already known exactly what I was doing, and giving myself the full time to focus on recovery made a real difference. What stood out most to me was how personalized the treatment was. The staff took the time to understand me as an individual rather than treating everyone the same. They also did a great job involving my family, helping us communicate better and work through issues that had been affecting all of us. The program goes beyond simply addressing substance abuse—it gives you an opportunity to understand yourself, your behaviors, your relationships, and what needs to change for long-term recovery. Another thing I really appreciated was the specialized aftercare they provided. They took the time to understand my unique situation and helped develop an aftercare plan tailored specifically to my needs. Knowing that I had continued support and a plan in place after leaving gave me a lot more confidence about maintaining the progress I had made. The overall environment was also excellent. The rooms, food, amenities, and extracurricular activities made the experience comfortable and gave me opportunities to relax and connect with others while still staying focused on healing. The staff were supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping people succeed. I also found the classes to be very informative. They were based on current research as well as the center’s experience working with people in recovery, and I walked away with practical information and a better understanding of myself and my recovery. For me, Focus provided a much-needed break from everyday life—a chance to disconnect from outside distractions and really focus on healing and personal growth. The value went well beyond simply addressing substance abuse. It was about learning how to live differently, understanding myself better, and building a better foundation for the future. From first contact after hours on a weekend, to accepting my son for treatment even before we had payment worked out, to working with my insurance to get everything covered in-network when they were technically out of network to the fantastic intensive outpatient services. Still the best place in Alabama for opiate recovery! My counselor Morgan had a baby and is no longer there and I now have Stephanie Paige via telehealth and she is an absolutely a life saver! Huntsville Recovery has great staff but the doctor there doesn't care AT ALL about her patients, neither did any of my counselors. While at Huntsville Metro/New Seasons they got me in and tried their best to fix what Huntsville's Recovery wronged, they truly care! This place is amazing! Without them I would have had to continue to endure going to a place that treated me like just another worthless addict even though ive had over a year of clean drug screens! Huntsville metro treatment me great and really cares for everyone, my intake counsler, ANA listened, talked with me and took care of every single concern or issue I had and the doctor there DRr.ATCHLEY tries every way possible to help you he gives you tons of info and is just an all around great guy!! I have had Greaaaaattttt counselors here who are very helpful and not overly strict when you have earned that right but I've also had others who are not great counselors and clearly do not want to be there. I have upped my review to 4 of 5 stars because I finnaly have a amazing counselor again. Still could be better im a 32 year old perfectly healthy young man and a physical being required every 3 months is just ridiculous. It wouldn't be so bad if I didnt have to wait 2 hours+ to even see the doctor for that physical. Also not being aloud to dose untill completing my physical is ridiculous since the wait time is so long. Ive never dosed then left without completely doing everything required of me so I shouldn't be treated like ive done something wrong. My first therapist was so amazing she was the one. She was the one who inspired me to get my bachelor's degree in Psychology for mental health. Then go for my masters to become an LPC. Well she ended up moving onto another job in April of this year. Then I got my new one end of April. I loved her too but sadly she's going somewhere else too. I see the new one next week. Even though I gave 5 stars I am bummed I keep getting new therapist. I didn't even find out about my new one until she called me today to tell me the news. I feel as if that shouldn't be happening as for some people like myself bringing up their trauma every time with a new therapist causes ptsd for weeks. I was tested and evaluated by Dr. Hirsh in 2021. She was extremely kind and very professional. She cares a lot for her job and her patients. I recently have had to get my youngest daughter tested for autism and adhd and so far our experiences have been pleasant. When we couldn't make it to the office, due to sickness, Dr. Hirsh was kind enough to let us keep our appointment and do our appointment through video call. We will have her testing done here soon and I'm sure that will go just as pleasantly as the rest of our visits here.
