The staff here was very nice and polite to me and the ER doctor was very concerned about my health as soon as she saw me so she immediately started working on me and founded out within the hour what was wrong with me and admitted me to the hospital under the surgical team

Entered through the ER at 1:30am with insane stomach pain and throwing up. They were quick with intake procedure and bloodwork and medicine. I was in horrible shape and they recognized it. Turns out it’s was my appendix. They took me to my room, where the nurses were nice and attentive and informative. The on call surgeon came in after a short wait after I was settled…Dr. Cole and his team would get me in that morning! Feeling pretty lucky now.
He was a ladies man because his whole team were ladies. All very thorough, authentic and genuinely assuring in the communication process with me. Surprisingly everyone seemed to like their job, and that was to help me get to feeling better. Thank each of all involved 🌷

I have been learning to live with a horrible disease that can only be treated and never cured. I love Mrs. Burnadette. Excuse my spelling mistakes. I have no clue how to spell anything anymore. She works the front desk and she is excellent at it. Then there’s Ms. Ava she is wonderful. She doesn’t judge me at all for any changes in my vitals. She asks me about my mental pain and my health problems. She’s very understanding but she’s stern about skipping doses of medicine and waiting till I’m empty to order a refill especially if it’s the last one and they have to call Dr.Patel. To get an ok and it may take a couple days. That’s a very big No No. I absolutely love Dr.Patel. He listens to me and wants me to know that he cares about my illness and he wants to help me learn and put to work some coping skills for my life. Things are not the same and I’m going to have to learn how to live in my own way and learn how to be happy again. I am so happy to have such an amazing doctor that is trying to help me find a way to get happy in my new life. I trust everything he says and hopefully he will always be my doctor. and friend!

I will always need psychiatric medication and that's ok!
I was facing new and extreme insurance issues that prevented me from getting very important psychiatric medication that I've been on for years. Mountain Lakes went above and beyond. In a very scary time for me...)pay $700/mo for one rx which was unfeasible..or be checked into the hospital)... They picked me up and took me to my appts and worked with the insurance company for months until they got my medicine covered! I also felt I wasn't heard during my psych eval and felt I had an additional diagnosis. After a year of therapy and psychiatrist appts, they did amend my diagnosis..they listened to me and had evidence to back their diagnosis. They did right by me. Sarah Dettweiler is the psychiatrist I have been seeing and she's very good at what she does..she's calm and very nice..not intimidating and listens! Brenda..I had an episode at her when I was waiting for my medicine and this sweet lady was always very very nice. Also I had a few counselors I wasn't happy with and they switched me to Brittany...she's truly the best I've ever had. I feel my care is safe in their hands and I trust them!

I had an extremely abusive childhood. It takes a lot for me to learn to open up. I’d been hospitalized over 20 times in 3 years for hurting myself.
I never thought I’d be able to get even slightly better. I was told I was going to live in a facility for the mentally ill and disabled. But i have one last try here!

On Mondays they are available for any new intakes. There are three offices in each county - Cherokee, Etowah, DeKalb (C.E.D.) And, I believe Etowah would be the more convoluted of the three since Etowah has a much larger population than Cherokee and Dekalb.
I imagine that when an emergency/crisis arises they have to drop everything and focus on those people that are on the verge of harming themselves and/or others. I can also imagine these emergencies can happen at a moment's notice and it may not be only one at a given time.

Staff is very helpful and friendly. A pleasure to be a patient here. Better experience at Stevenson compared to Huntsville! I love Mindy and Constance! Great counselors and staff, altogether. I would also like to mention a few more. Kim usually doses me 2 out of 3 days a week and gives me my takehome most times, and she, as well as the staff follow procedure. Very professional, but yet understanding and no judgement. There's every reason you can talk truthfully to any one of them. And then there's Elijah. Oh Elijah.... wouldn't be the same without him and his open eye. Nothing gets past him. He's a wonderful man of God. He and anyone here will go out of their way to help. Another thing I want to mention is the knowledge I've gained from Kim as far as other medical issues. Mindy is also great with things like drawing blood, for instance. That's a HUGE deal. If it doesn't work out, it's because my veins are small. They will not keep hurting you and one nurse doesn't mind giving another one a shot at it. Last but not least, gotta love Chad and Ken!! My Family is the best!! I love you, Mindy, Kim, Constance, Elijah, Ken, Chad, Carol, Cierra(sp?), and all my family here. I hope I left no one out. I don't know what I'd do without their listening ears and kind smiles and caring eyes. They all are equally Godsent. As Kid Rock says, To all you crackheads, you critics, you cynics, and all my heroes at the methadone clinic!!! BAWITTABA!!
My new counselor, Carol, is sweet. I haven't known her long, but she and Scott(my previous counselor) has helped me probably more than any other I've had here. I know a few staff members put in a word to get me that help. I cried when Scott left. That should say a whole lot!!

I recently had the privilege of spending a week at Willowbrooke Mental Institute, and I must say it was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of calm and serenity wash over me, thanks to the beautiful surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The facilities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and a serene atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The therapy sessions were led by experienced professionals who were knowledgeable and empathetic, and the group sessions were engaging and thought-provoking. But what really impressed me was the sense of community that permeated every aspect of the program. From the daily activities to the meals, everything was designed to promote connection and camaraderie among the residents. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt supported and included, and I left feeling like I was part of a true community rather than just a patient. Overall, my experience at Willowbrooke was nothing short of exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a compassionate and effective approach to mental health treatment.

Providence Recovery Place is truly a beacon of hope and healing. The professional, caring staff, many of whom have personally walked the recovery path, create a powerful community where lives are transformed. I've witnessed countless residents return to work, to family, and to continue their education, a testament to the program's lasting impact. One resident endearingly described Our Master's Camp as the 'brotherhood of the broken'—a compassionate, faith-filled community that helps break the chains of addiction and find true hope in Christ ... a real healing community. Through my work listening and documenting residents' stories, I am deeply impressed by the strong faith, genuine care, and remarkable success stories of so many whose lives have been changed. New to the facility. Counselor Janet is great. Very professional and caring. NP karen brazzle seems to be a good nurse practitioner. Seemed to really want to help. For people like me who are seriously struggling with life, she seemed to care. And wants to help.
EDIT 8-14-24
I've been seeing Karen Brazzle for approx 3 years now. I have nothing but good things to say. I don't know how to explain her in a few words, so I'll do my best. Kind, caring, knowledge, passionate, and will take the time needed. Im not the type to visit a place like this, much less stay. But I'm over 3 years. The staff is nice and hospitable, as much as they can be. Scheduling has never been an issue. I use the in house pharmacy Genoa. I've decided to come off most, but they were always ready for pick up and we're offered to be shipped. I can't promise you'll get assigned Karen, and I have t encountered any other practicioners. They do exclusively telehealth, so if that's a problem for you. I believe their counseling is done in house, and can't comment on those staff. If you're struggling and need help, the low rating that is shown hasn't at all been my experience. Hope this finds you well.
