Nobody ever picks up the phone. It is nearly impossible to get ahold of someone at the office. I called and left a voicemail cancelling my appointment (due to conflict) 2 days in advance and got a call the day of saying I was considered a no show because I didn t notify them. I wish they had better communication with patients because the staff is very nice when you are in person.

This is the most unprofessional office I've ever stepped foot into. In the 5 times I've called, no person has ever answered the phone. I've never had a call returned. The doctor tried to bro with me by swearing. I had to physically go to the office to schedule an appt because they wouldn't return my messages. It's poorly ran and the overall experience was just awful. I couldn't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Alabama provides medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for drug dependency. Methods of treatment often include a combination of medication, counseling, and recreational therapies.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Never answers the phones and doesn't return calls when trying to reschedule or cancel an appt then have the audacity to charge for it. Might consider getting lawyers involved. Do better!!

I thought it was just me but I see I'm not the only one wasting my time calling and leaving messages.

The medical staff are lovely, but the people in billing are either incompetent or malicious in the way they do business. I have been lied to about my deductible not being met so they could overcharge me, lied to about a provider being registered with my insurance after she changed medical groups so they could overcharge me, and charged $250 while being told they were running my card for my $25 copay. when I called back assuming this was a mistake and someone hit "0" too many times, I was informed that, no, that was intentional because my insurance deductible was not met (another lie). At the end of January i received a call that my insurance rejected a claim for an appointment in June and I owed them $250 for the services. I called my insurance and was told that they paid the bill in full and I owed no money. I called them back promptly the same day and left a message to that effect with a request to call me back. Today I received a bill for $250 with the words "No further refills" handwritten on the page. I'm not sure if this some passive aggressive attempt to bully me into giving money I don't owe by withholding my medication, but honestly, it's disgusting. I can manage without my ADHD meds, which I'm assuming is what they're trying to threaten me with, but my antidepressants are necessary. It's moot anyway, as I moved last year, a fact they're well aware of since the bill was sent to my new address.

NOT ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS so don’t waste your time waiting for a call. Let me tell you, my husband left messages, my daughter and myself. I finally received a call TODAY after leaving voice messages for over a year (was told by my daughters school we had to go here cause we’re new to AL) I also reached out to the Psych via Linked In and commented on pictures through Facebook! I know I have gone overboard, but when your child needs assistance and the school specifically tells you to go to this place what do you do? I feel this business is not legit (after not receiving calls back for over a year) and them “supposedly” hiring a new Psych on 12/10/23 and now saying they aren’t taking new patients. I should have heard back within a week from the first message we left with this business over a year ago, or a month ago. Everything they have (including insurance providers) states they are taking new patients. I also had my insurance provider (who states they are accepting new patients) call them numerous times with no success. Doesn't that sound sketchy to you?

I spent $450 for an initial consult and didn’t like the doctor. I asked to use a different doctor in their practice and spent weeks trying to get an answer. The office takes several weeks to return calls even when you follow up. I finally was allowed to transfer to another doctor in their practice and was told I’d have to pay another initial consult fee instead of a follow up visit charge on my next appointment . They insist on three month visits. I’ve taken the same meds for 20 years and moved here from TX and only need to go twice a year for medication management. This practice is about gouging customers and not helping them. Even their voicemail says 72 hrs to return a call (which they don’t). Run. They don’t need your business or value you.

Reading all the other reviews at least makes me feel better that it's not just me. My doctor sent them a referral and told me I should hear from them. When I didn't after over a month, the doctor gave me their number. I called and called and called, leaving several messages. When I did finally get a call back after over a week of trying, I was told it was a "courtesy call" (???) and they weren't taking new patients. Extremely telling that they think returning a call to let a person know they need to seek care elsewhere is a "courtesy."
