About New Day Recovery

New Day Recovery is a drug and alcohol rehab facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana. They treat individuals who are dealing with substance use disorder (SUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). They have both inpatient and outpatient treatment for men and women. Treatment will last anywhere between 28 and 60 days.

Medically Assisted Treatment Including Brixadi

Here, they provide medically assisted treatment to those people who need it for mental health conditions and withdrawal symptoms. In addition to providing medications such as Subutex and Naltrexone, they are one of the few places in Louisiana in which you can obtain Brixadi.

Brixadi is offered on either a weekly or monthly basis. The medication is injected into your arm in liquid form and turns into a gel. It then slowly releases the medication in the appropriate doses over time. Other buprenorphine-based medications come in the form of a pill that you take daily or an injection monthly.

Inpatient Treatment

Both of the company’s treatment centers offer gender-specific dorms. The Shreveport office offers gender-specific treatment for people with SUD. They have a treatment program that is specifically designed for women.

Not only will you have all of your group sessions with other women, but the treatment methods used are specifically geared to the problems that women with SUD experience. You will have private therapy sessions throughout your stay.

You will be assigned a case manager who will monitor your progress throughout the program. They can assist you with obtaining social services and other community resources.

Available Outpatient Services

They have an intensive outpatient program in which you will come in several times a week for several hours a day. It is good for people who do not have time to attend residential therapy or for those who are transitioning out of therapy.

They offer standard outpatient treatment that includes weekly group and individual sessions. They participate in the Enjoy Life Again program, which focuses on the positive elements of living a drug-free life and restoring joy and fulfillment.

I understand patient privacy and HIPPA policies. But, I find it disappointing when you cannot leave your number with staff and IF your brother is there, give him the NEW cellphone number so he can at least call and give me a code or whatever to reach him. Staff refuses to take down my new cell phone number. Unacceptable. DO BETTER.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Clients engaged in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) participate in multiple treatment sessions weekly. Typical treatment modalities include individual, group, and family counseling, addiction and recovery education, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and evidence-based holistic therapies. Most intensive outpatient rehabs require clients to engage in a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 treatment hours per week. Many clients enter IOP after stepping down from intensive inpatient care, but some may enroll immediately after completing detox.

Clients enrolled in rehab aftercare programs have completed high-level treatment and are typically in the maintenance phase of their recovery, receiving customized services designed to support their sustained sobriety. Case managers and care teams typically begin to plan for the client's rehab aftercare services early in the treatment process to ensure the client's fluid reentry into their home, workplace, and community. These programs evolve as clients' needs change, and frequently include peer coaching, relapse prevention, and career counseling.

12 step programs enable participants to focus on their long-term sobriety through rigorous peer support and ongoing personal growth. They engage in regular, peer-directed 12 step meetings and receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected sponsor. Meetings are free, anonymous, and available multiple times a day, 365 days per year in most communities. Though 12 steps of recovery are rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation isn't mandatory. Specialized programs are widely available, including youth and family meetings.

Sober living homes in Louisiana offer a drug- and alcohol-free environment where residents can maintain or establish their sobriety. Also called a halfway house, this setting offers peer empowerment, support, accountability, reinforcement of recovery principles, and individual responsibility. It is a safe place where residents can solidify their recovery skills and prepare to return home or establish a new independent life.

Collaboration between a professional treatment team and the family of an addicted loved one is an essential benefit of intervention services in Louisiana. Working together, they can develop the best strategies for a drug intervention. These experienced professionals know what protocols are most effective for interventions and provide expert insight that can improve the outcome of the intervention. An intervention specialist acts as a mediator during the intervention and a guide for next steps based on the outcome of the effort.

Initial phases of rehab treatment often require 24-hour clinical care in Louisiana. This supervised treatment offers three main benefits. Medical staff can provide medications to treat withdrawal. Clients can also benefit from having 24-hour nursing staff available to treat any other physical symptoms. Lastly, this setting ensures that professionals are constantly available to address any emotional or mental health issues related to the addiction or co-occurring disorders.

The first step in the addiction recovery process involves flushing all addictive drugs and alcohol from your body while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, this level of care takes into account that quitting your drug of choice cold turkey can be very dangerous once you've become physically dependent. In a medical detox, your team of medical professionals helps to ensure your safety and comfort. Most people transition to an inpatient treatment or maintenance program upon completion.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

If you undergo cognitive behavioral therapy in Louisiana, you may engage in role playing, face your fears, and learn to calm your mind and body. These techniques are designed to help you recognize unhealthy patterns of thinking and to learn healthy ways of coping with challenges.

When you participate in dialectical behavior therapy, you'll work on recognizing distorted thinking patterns that are guiding your emotions. You'll learn how to change these patterns to eliminate unproductive reactions. This involves developing better coping mechanisms to handle stressful situations.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

If you are struggling with motivation to change, motivational interviewing is designed to help. This method typically involves one or two sessions with a therapist. The technique helps you understand your motivations and empowers you to make changes to reach your goals.

In Louisiana, trauma therapy helps you explore the impact that a traumatic event has had on your life. You can experience emotional and physical responses if you witness or experience a traumatic event. Your therapist guides you in processing the trauma and then developing coping strategies that improve your quality of life.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding dynamic between family members. Therapists assist families in identifying and changing negative, harmful patterns while improving open and honest communication. This provides a stable foundation for the recovery journey.

An integral part of addiction rehab in Louisiana is life skills training. This training equips you for the daily tasks you'll need to successfully navigate post treatment. Training may include employment coaching, stress management techniques, financial budgeting, and interpersonal skill development.

My sister is in your rehab struggling with opioid addiction and one of you're staff members named Abraham as been treating your patients like inmates he even talked to me like I was an inmate when I went to visit her ,he talked to me like I was a child . Not 🚫 professional at all. One lady wanted to leave because of him so he opens up the door and tells her to go and turns around and tells the other clients that are there if they want to leave here's you're ticket out of here . We are supposed to inspire people not criticize them and lift them up and show love like God intended us to do. If I would have known how this place was I would have never put her there. So I hear that there is a new CEO ,sir please do something about Abraham and do something about your clients needs ,y'all get payed big money for your clients not to have what they need like detergent, toothpaste, hydrogen plus there hardly eating in there I had to bring my sister some food because she was starving. Come on let's get real those clients are God's people too . May the good Lord have mercy on this place,God bless y'all and have a very blessed day.

I typically wouldn’t give a review just because that’s not who I am. I don’t like to do reviews, but I’m gonna make an exception this time. The fact of the matter is is my girlfriend that is staying there, is on blood pressure medication and it’s very important that she has that blood pressure medication and she did not receive her blood pressure medication, for three days! And not just that they treat their patients like inmates. I don’t know if it’s an authority complex or just an ego but they practically have to fight to make a phone call not literally but still I mean you can’t sit there and get on the phone without having 20 other people you know looking down as you trying to also get on the phone which I mean I’m sure you know the respectful of one another while they’re in there but here’s the thing is why can’t you have more than one phone? Why are these people limited to being able to make a phone call? I don’t understand that you are not their God. Then you have to trade cigarettes for socks or whatever else they need like it’s jail. She volunteered to go there she wasn’t court ordered to go there so I don’t understand that. . I’ve spoken to her once since she’s been there, she’s been there for Six days going on seven and if I would’ve known that, she needed socks or other things I would’ve brought them, but the lack of communication is ridiculous. They’re only allowed to have visitation on the weekend. I don’t expect things to be great. But I would expect For there to be a little bit of more humanity rather than treating, you know these people like animals. How do you expect recovery if you’re treating them this way? They’re not gonna want to recover they’re gonna wanna leave and you know most of them can’t because they have circumstances that they’re trying to take care of so you take full advantage of that. Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed your review. Have a lovely day.
