I was on the road from Tulsa to visit my family in Texas, when my arm became dislocated and came out of the socket. We turned back around to head to a hospital in Okmulgee and was directed to this hospital. I received the very best care with Dr. Riddle, putting my arm back in place. All nurses were fantastic. The male nurse putting in the IV was one of the best I have ever had. I would not hesitate to use this hospital again if needed.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body after you've become physically dependent is through a medically assisted detox. Usually performed in an inpatient setting, a team of licensed medical professionals are tasked with monitoring your health and helping to minimize the risks and physical discomfort caused by withdrawal symptoms. Medically assisted detox is often the first step in the recovery process. After your body is safely free of substances, you'll likely transition to an inpatient treatment program to continue your recovery.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment in which you can confront and address the emotional and physical impacts of traumatic events. Your therapist helps you understand your emotional and physical responses and develop healthier coping skills, which lowers your anxiety level and provides you with greater self confidence.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

If ai could rate the ER and the inpatient unit separately, I would give the ER 5 stars. There was zero wait, the physician, PA, and nurses were FANTASTIC. The ER physician was even able to pave an IV with ultrasound in only 2 tries (which is far from my usual experience). I was offered pain medication but declined as i didn't need it at the time. I was admitted to the hospital and that experience I would like to rate -3 stars. The nurses refused to give the pain meds that were ordered by the ER physician upon admission until the hospitalist saw me and took over care. From admission forward, my care continued to decline. No one addressed the calf pain or did the ultrasound I was told would be completed, or even asked about it or evaluated/examined my leg for possible blood clot. I was allowed to be curled up in a ball crying placing pressure over my abdomen where I was having sharp shooting pains without only 15mg toradol (I'm a fairly large woman) and was told that shouldn't need pain meds 7-9 days post-op despite being admitted for surgical complications and possible abscess on the CT exactly where I was having pain. If you are a suboxone patient (for any reason, because they won't ask, they will simply assume) forget any pain relief from the surgeon (different MCN facility) either in PACU or at home or from the hospitalist/PA. The ER was only only place I received care in a non-judgemental and empathetic manor. I wish I had just gone to a local ER to be admitted for my abdominal surgery. I HIGHLY recommend the ER at MCNMC but avoid if you might be admitted. Go to a non IHS hospital and contact contract health.

Breaks my heart to write this. They were 5 plus stars all the way until May 1, 2025. YES, this really did happen. I arrived via ambulance around 5pm. They locked me in a bed. I told them my symptoms multiple times. They were very unprofessional. Being snide in a mocking way of my symptoms. Blood pressure cuff to tight told me I had to wear it. My other shoulder is fractured so I could not remove it. They gave me a soda which was very bad for my illnesses. I ask for wheelchair they refused. I begged them to do labs they refused. I told them I had been referred to a specialist more snideness. They took an x-ray which was irrevelant to my symptons. They supervisor came in very hateful. Demanded I do something I was unable to do then refused to treat me until I did. It was a wide awake nightmare.

I came to the hospital, here, in Okmulgee, on Wednesday night. I was having several medical issues, and symptoms, which concerned me. Each part of their medical team worked together in diagnosing and treating me. I had been here a few times before; and, they took care of me. But, the treatment that I have received, during this stay, was just phenomenal. I would recommend this hospital, and everyone working of their care team, to everyone. As always, I give praise to Jesus Christ, for restoring this old woman to continue preaching and teaching His Gospel and Word. Love and Prayers, Cindy

They are the most caring and attentive staff! The Dr's, nurses, security the ER, front desk and housekeeping are just excellent! You know they really care about their patients and their experience. It's very clean and newly remodeled!! The food is good I mean if it wasn't for the fact that this is a hospital I would've felt like I was at a hotel in all honesty!! Oh and housekeeping makes cute towel animals for you

My son took a ball to the eye while in a baseball tournament in Broken Arrow. We took him to MCN hospital, where they had called him back before we could even get all the way checked in and they were amazing. The dr on call was very attentive, made the comment several times that he was not releasing him until he ruled out everything he possibly could. The staff was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this hospital. Thank you MCN for taking care of my boy.

I had to go to the ER this morning. 2/5/25, short wait time. Loved my nurse, Rindy! Such a breath of fresh air. Kind, compassionate, and genuinely concerned. Dr. Kennedy, top notch doctor. Excellent bedside manner. He made sure I had all that i needed and more. While I was in excruciating pain, these two made my day so much better. Thank you!!!

I am the caretaker for my 73 year old friend who was discharged today from this hospital. I was not allowed to visit because I had been exposed to RSV. I have zero issues with that in itself. I would rather not risk the health of anyone else. What I have a problem with is the fact that I had to call up there to get any information and I called several times and left messages and those calls were never returned. I spoke with the nurses station 3 times and the nurses were all very professional, friendly and a informative as they could be. The Case Manager contacted me one time, Friday. She said she would call me back and did not. I reached out and left a message today and never received a return call. At 6:30 this evening I received a call from a skilled nursing facility telling me that my friend asked them to let me know that she was there. I was never even notified they had found a placement. Let alone where that placement was out when it was happening. Their communication, or lack thereof rather, is enough for a 3-star review. My friend was scared the entire time she was there because they were not letting her talk to me before decisions were made.
