After years of being in and out of hospitals for various reasons in several different states, I can say this one has by far the best care I have ever received. Every single staff member has gone above and beyond and genuinely wants to you feel as comfortable and cared for as you can. My only complaint is that there’s not a vending machine full of snacks directly next to my bed.

The people who work here are the best I've ever dealt with at any hospital. They respect your dignity, they encourage you, and they are always eager to help, regardless of your circumstances. Always made me feel welcome and part of a family. I am so incredibly grateful for the CALM Center. I recently was impatient here and it truly changed my perspective on how I want to live out the rest of my life. I’ve struggled with my mental health for years and have been in and out facilities but let me tell you, the CALM center in the only one who had left an impact on me. If you or someone you love is going impatient please know that they are in safe hands and that they’ll feel truly loved and cared for while they are there. Shout out to Ms. Tabitha, Mr. Scott, and Mr. Jimmy for making the days feel less hard. You can tell they truly have a care for mental health and love their job. Also both therapists are amazing but Mr Spencer is one of the best therapist I’ve ever had. He showed me that their is more to life then what’s going on around me, and genuinely gave me hope for the future. I’ll forever be grateful for the Calm Center and the people who run it. ♥️

It was amazing the food is amazing the stuff for amazing like literally everything about it is amazing except for the beds the beds are a little bit uncomfortable but other than that it's amazing and it's also really short term which I like about that it's only 7 days which is actually not that bad so yeah the doctor really helpful the therapist really helpful everything's really helpful

First time I’ve ever had to use the VA Emergency Room in Muskogee, and I have to say I was impressed. I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it. Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do. They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed. The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door. I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care. Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience.

I have always wanted to reach my fullest potential and live life the right way and couldn't figure out how to do that. I thank you for having a State Funded way to give people psychiatric drugs. When I was a kid I couldn't be trusted with things like Health Insurance. You guys gave my Wife and I pills that wouldn't have been feasible because we were just starting out. Your behavioral health doctors kept me in check where I didn't buy anything illegal all through my 20s. At a certain point I needed amphetamine to quit smoking. Especially for my Wife. When I first met her she had contributed less than 50 bucks to SSI. We lived together for 7 years before we got married. The whole time I did a Pharmacy Tech diploma through school I got zyprexa, lithium, and ambien here. Ambien made me loose control. At this point I can say I would have stayed out of trouble so much better if at that point in my life if my Dad trusted with money to go to a Pharmacy and buy something like zquil w/ acetaminophen.

This placed literally saved my life. I had been rapidly declining and was on the verge of completely breaking when I learned of Laureate. I walked into the building and told them I was there seeking help and they were kind from minute one. From intake with Diego and Anthony to being taken over to the senior area (MacDonald 2, I think?) everyone was professional, very kind and caring. Dr. O'Meilia was an absolute blessing. He listened, he cared, he understood and he helped me find my way back. I stayed five days and had follow-up via outpatient that started quickly after inpatient discharge. Everyone there has been kind and supportive. I've returned to work (very light schedule) and am feeling well again and I attribute all of this to Laureate, Dr. O'Meilia, Dr. Lawrence, the patient technicians who were so incredibly helpful, patient and kind. Thank you to everyone for all the kindness and care.

You clearly get out what you put in..... I was in a bad spot when I arrived, I could argue I have more issues that Time Magazine. I finally hit rock bottom and checked myself in. I can tell you in the week I was there, I saw the difference in the people and there were 2 types. Those looking to gain something, and those just doing whatever they could to get out. Just as an observer, those who tried to work the program and get something out of it, did. Was everyone perfect, no, but its a mental hospital. It wasn't an amusement park. Very structured, I don't miss the meals, but I was fed, and looked after. I hope you never need it, but as someone who did, it really helped me in ways I never experienced. If I ever need it again, I know where to go.....here.

You can always get someone on the phone, they are attentive, answer questions, provide you the help and resources you need. 10/10 as for my experiences with IHS and we’ve been to several different healthcare facilities in the state since we’ve moved so much. Love Black Hawk and their wonderful staff!

I haven’t had the appointment yet but Marliena in patient registration was SO SWEET AND HELPFUL!! I felt so “heard”!!! I wish there were more employees that were so helpful and NICE!! I honestly was kinda shocked with this experience that I had to leave a review!! I hope I get to meet her in person!’ As always, the front line employees are the key to a successful enterprise!! I want to point something out. I was in this boys home for four years. Those were the best years of my life. I had very tough times but the staff stuck with me and helped me out. I’m seeing a lot of bad reviews that don’t make sense to the boys home that I know. There is one that kicks the side of me like a truck, it’s the review about Rylan Harris. I personally knew this young man and he took it upon himself to break the rules and put himself in harms way. Unfortunately he passed. I know of some other kids that the same thing happened to and I could’ve been one of them cause I would run away. Kids aren’t running away cause this place is abusive like you people want to claim. They are running away because they don’t like the authority above them. Now may God bless those families who lost someone, some little boy that was in some sort of accident. But don’t blame the staff. The staff do everything they can and have rules and policies preventing things that I know for a fact they follow. They don’t like some of them but in order to keep the job that continues helping young men they have to. This place is not a bad place. I stuck out four years here. I got out three years ago and since then I’ve bought several of my own cars, kept a good paying job, and pay my own bills. I’m 20 years old. DO NOT BLAME THE STAFF. If a staff member did something wrong I have full belief and trust in the management taking action. And if this isn’t enough to stop all the hate sending these people’s way than all of you are no better than who you say they are

Everyone was so nice, I was not just treated as another number. I really appreciated the attention and answers to my questions. Do wish that my medication prescriptions to be filled at Walgreens was sent to my Walgreens at 51st and Memorial and that no one except myself was requested to pay for them. I understand the efficiency taken but was very upset about asking my cousin to (who had brought me) Pay for them.

Not only was my stay as a patient was great, but I was there just a few months ago as a RN student and that experience was also great. I’ve been in health care for over 30 years and hospitals are not a place I would ever consider working, but I would definitely work for hillcrest.

I absolutely love Grant. It’s not perfect but you get what you give in that program. If you had a bad experience then you might need to change your mindset because that place is a paradise no bills no worries. Some of these other reviews seem very misleading. It is my understanding that this hospital shares a name with the hospital in a video game? So that’s why some of the pictures on reviews are a video game characters. Regardless, it is my understanding. Also that Brookhaven no longer has a ward for just drug use or mental health. All patients have brain injuries. Our nephew was at Brookhaven for several months getting treatment for his brain injury and struggles with acting out and my family has nothing but the best to say about their care. His therapist called us regularly and listened to what we had to say and his treatment really worked. He’s not living somewhat independently with no problems and appreciate medicine. I think some of these very old reviews need to be taken down
