First time I’ve ever had to use the VA Emergency Room in Muskogee, and I have to say I was impressed. I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it. Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do. They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed. The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door. I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care. Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience.

Very clean hospital. Staff on the 5th floor were so nice and amazing. The room I was in was massive and felt like I was in a suite. I was well taken care of. The nursing team for any procedure needing to be done kept me calm and talked me through it. They did everything to make me feel very comfortable during my stay. My basic needs were met. They always made sure my call light was near by, they cleaned my bedding and sheets daily. Housekeeping was amazing! If I had an issue it was addressed in a timely fashion. The staff were fun to talk to and share laughs to because some times “laughter is the best medicine”. I appreciate one over night nurse whom was able to give me a resource for free medical equipment! Some of the staff sure did go above and beyond for my care during my stay.

This review is for Lyndall in the Emergency Room. 100% the best staff. ER was very full and my daughter broke her leg and lots of road rash not only did he step in to help when I was carrying her back and forth to the bathroom but he jumped in to help her after we had been there for a while and not a lot of help. He took over her care, was very calm, reassuring, and did whatever he could to help ease her pain and worry. He then personally wheeled her to the car and made sure she was comfortably in the vehicle before leaving her. Emergency Rooms need more staff like Lyndall!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing people that took care of me this shift on 4th floor. This is by no means exclusive as I had so many guardian angels. I feel that I quite literally would be dead without their love and care: Dr. Ellis, Izzy, RN, Bethany CNA, Bri CNA, Lindsey RT, and Samara SST. There were so many others, but I felt loved and cared for this week. Thank you to all of these and many others. Thank you for not just taking care of me, but teaching me to do it myself. You encourage without judgment or shame. Truly, love you all so much.

I'd give no stars if I could! I thought this was going to be a good place to get counseling and help with birth certificates and whatnot, but it's definitely not. Took 2 months to get my BC back only to state that this place didn't pay for it. Then my case manager kept going in circles, trying to stall the whole process even more, and didn't understand that all they had to do was pay for it like they said they would. Many months later, apparently, the certificates arrived, and I went up there to get them 3x. However, the last time I did, they said that since I stopped going there (even though my case manager said she'd have them at the front for me) that they were probably sent back. This place just wants your money. They don't care about your wellbeing at all, and they're all just rude in the office. Don't go here unless you want them to get you on medication just for the money.

Jack Brown Center helps Native American juveniles to stop an active addiction while learning to live and cope without the source for the addiction. The staff that was there during my stay was an exceptional group of people. A day is always busy with a large variety of activities such as basketball, kickball, weight lifting, trust fall, disc golf, 12 step meeting's, chess, billiards, Native American chants, going in a Cherokee(I think) sweat lodge, help cooking meals once earned, learning to sew, and my favorite game we referred to as, hoccer, which involved a massive 5' or 6' yoga like ball. At the time I didn't always see it, but the rules were reasonable and helpful such as room had to stay clean, bed was made daily and one form of discipline for breaking rules was to write out a given sentence about the infraction many times. I was even allowed to paint the Choctaw nation seal on the wall while there, although my time was done before I was able to finish so hopefully someone else did. This changed my life drastically and I am always thankful for my experience at the Jack Brown Center!

I graduated on June 18th 2025. Yes the program is tough & many don't understand the process of all the rules but sometimes tough love and structure is needed. The staff are amazing people who really do care. They represent love and you see God working through them to help all the ladies! It's not an easy job or calling but God uses them to transform life's. Most of these life's are in some type of trouble or turmoil! And Freedom House helped me set my focus back to where it needed to be & relieved me of my troubles! So thank you all & I love you all for everything you've done & are still doing!

I came into the program completely defeated I was very bad on drugs with no hope and just empty inside I knew I had to change or I was going to die or be in prison and never be apart of my kids life. Since being at Freedom House I’m no longer bound by addiction and I’m able to be a positive safe mom for my children and since completing the program I stayed to serve at Freedom House as an intern and God has truly changed my life and my destination here! This program is the best place if you want to truly be set free! ✝️

I was a student at Freedom House almost 5 years ago , and I returned to do restoration after completion. Freedom House saved my life. The Holy Spirit is in that house. There is peace unspeakable there and true love from the staff. I learned how to become a women after God's own heart while I was there. I will never forget my time at Freedom House Adult and Teen Challenge.

I am so incredibly grateful for the CALM Center. I recently was impatient here and it truly changed my perspective on how I want to live out the rest of my life. I’ve struggled with my mental health for years and have been in and out facilities but let me tell you, the CALM center in the only one who had left an impact on me. If you or someone you love is going impatient please know that they are in safe hands and that they’ll feel truly loved and cared for while they are there. Shout out to Ms. Tabitha, Mr. Scott, and Mr. Jimmy for making the days feel less hard. You can tell they truly have a care for mental health and love their job. Also both therapists are amazing but Mr Spencer is one of the best therapist I’ve ever had. He showed me that their is more to life then what’s going on around me, and genuinely gave me hope for the future. I’ll forever be grateful for the Calm Center and the people who run it. ♥️

It was amazing the food is amazing the stuff for amazing like literally everything about it is amazing except for the beds the beds are a little bit uncomfortable but other than that it's amazing and it's also really short term which I like about that it's only 7 days which is actually not that bad so yeah the doctor really helpful the therapist really helpful everything's really helpful

Absolutely wonderful experience with Leslie Hughes and her nurse (cannot remember her name im sorry) very thoughtful, thorough, warm, professional. The woman who did my labs also was awesome. Thank you! I need to add that Redbird dental clinic is absolutely wonderful. Dr. Beavers and also the dentist i usually see (young woman with red hair) are so professional and kind and extremely good at what they do. I am an elder Cherokee and certainly appreciate the thought. However, I don't trust the PA I have been assigned. She seems to be foggy brained and screwed up my diabetes medicine once it affected my health. They.. the CN said they would look into it and I suppose they did but I don't know what they did. I really don't have much of a choice where I go. Some PAs and Drs are better than others but you have no way of knowing.

Three interactions with this hospital. All of them have been so helpful and kind. Of course there is bustle, and things need to get done, put everyone seems to be doing their best and treats you like a person rather than a number. I thank you for having a State Funded way to give people psychiatric drugs. When I was a kid I couldn't be trusted with things like Health Insurance. You guys gave my Wife and I pills that wouldn't have been feasible because we were just starting out. Your behavioral health doctors kept me in check where I didn't buy anything illegal all through my 20s. At a certain point I needed amphetamine to quit smoking. Especially for my Wife. When I first met her she had contributed less than 50 bucks to SSI. We lived together for 7 years before we got married. The whole time I did a Pharmacy Tech diploma through school I got zyprexa, lithium, and ambien here. Ambien made me loose control. At this point I can say I would have stayed out of trouble so much better if at that point in my life if my Dad trusted with money to go to a Pharmacy and buy something like zquil w/ acetaminophen.

This placed literally saved my life. I had been rapidly declining and was on the verge of completely breaking when I learned of Laureate. I walked into the building and told them I was there seeking help and they were kind from minute one. From intake with Diego and Anthony to being taken over to the senior area (MacDonald 2, I think?) everyone was professional, very kind and caring. Dr. O'Meilia was an absolute blessing. He listened, he cared, he understood and he helped me find my way back. I stayed five days and had follow-up via outpatient that started quickly after inpatient discharge. Everyone there has been kind and supportive. I've returned to work (very light schedule) and am feeling well again and I attribute all of this to Laureate, Dr. O'Meilia, Dr. Lawrence, the patient technicians who were so incredibly helpful, patient and kind. You clearly get out what you put in..... I was in a bad spot when I arrived, I could argue I have more issues that Time Magazine. I finally hit rock bottom and checked myself in. I can tell you in the week I was there, I saw the difference in the people and there were 2 types. Those looking to gain something, and those just doing whatever they could to get out. Just as an observer, those who tried to work the program and get something out of it, did. Was everyone perfect, no, but its a mental hospital. It wasn't an amusement park. Very structured, I don't miss the meals, but I was fed, and looked after. I hope you never need it, but as someone who did, it really helped me in ways I never experienced. If I ever need it again, I know where to go.....here.

Everyone was so nice, I was not just treated as another number. I really appreciated the attention and answers to my questions. Do wish that my medication prescriptions to be filled at Walgreens was sent to my Walgreens at 51st and Memorial and that no one except myself was requested to pay for them. I understand the efficiency taken but was very upset about asking my cousin to (who had brought me) Pay for them.
