They always call me back when I get transferred and have to leave a message. There all so nice everytime I call. They transfer me to the right person and everytime I'm in there I'm usually in n out in about an hour. Staff is awesome.
About Cherokee Nation – Redbird Smith Health Center
Constructed in 1992, the Redbird Smith Health Center in Sallisaw, Oklahoma serves adults, adolescents and families who are members of the Cherokee Nation.
Over the past three decades, they have grown to a two building site spanning nearly 22,000 square feet. This growth has allowed them to expand their services over the years.

Culturally Competent Addiction Treatment
One of the benefits of seeking care at Redbird Smith Health Center is that you’ll find culturally competent care to address your addiction struggles. Care is rooted in evidence based practices all while recognizing traditional Native American healing approaches and philosophies.
Individuals and families will also work through targeted counseling to minimize the risk of relapse and build a general sense of addiction education so that they can work through the struggles they’re facing. Referrals can be made through the Cherokee Nation Health System to provide you with more robust services if you require them.

This place is nice and clean with friendly employees and they help so many people.
My two daughters have been seen here for a few years now. I'm now forced into changing to a new facility due to their lack of concern for properly diagnosing children and the pharmacy being the absolute worst place you can go to. They never gave me my daughters seizure medicine when I went to go pick it up. They gave me one prescription and not the other. I go to an appointment for one sick kid and bring up this matter. The peds aprn said it most likely had to be prescribed by her doctor. After being givn the run around for a week and still no refill. I scheduled another appointment and they did not even swab my kids. Every time we have been there they have not swabbed them or done anything to find a diagnosis when they are sick. They want to say it is allergies so they can move on with their day. I did not find out my daughter had flu A until it induced her seizure and the hospital told us. Thank God I was able to get a small refill of her medicine from them. I get on my chart after they told me I can see details on her script from there. I find out it has been at Redbird this whole time and they did not fill it. I called them and find out that they sent it through the mail. Why on earth would you send a seizure med that is a daily necessity through the mail without the permission of a parent?!? I am now waiting on a small script I had to talk them into giving me and it has been 3 hours and they still have not filled it even though I have called multiple times since 8am. Do not take your kids here if you want quality care for them. Mine have ended up in the ER on multiple occasions!!

Outpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
Aftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
Intensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.
Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.
Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
