I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it. Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do. They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed. The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door. I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care. Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience. The staff that was there during my stay was an exceptional group of people. A day is always busy with a large variety of activities such as basketball, kickball, weight lifting, trust fall, disc golf, 12 step meeting's, chess, billiards, Native American chants, going in a Cherokee(I think) sweat lodge, help cooking meals once earned, learning to sew, and my favorite game we referred to as, hoccer, which involved a massive 5' or 6' yoga like ball. At the time I didn't always see it, but the rules were reasonable and helpful such as room had to stay clean, bed was made daily and one form of discipline for breaking rules was to write out a given sentence about the infraction many times. I was even allowed to paint the Choctaw nation seal on the wall while there, although my time was done before I was able to finish so hopefully someone else did. Staff on the 5th floor were so nice and amazing. The room I was in was massive and felt like I was in a suite. I was well taken care of. The nursing team for any procedure needing to be done kept me calm and talked me through it. They did everything to make me feel very comfortable during my stay. My basic needs were met. They always made sure my call light was near by, they cleaned my bedding and sheets daily. Housekeeping was amazing! If I had an issue it was addressed in a timely fashion. The staff were fun to talk to and share laughs to because some times “laughter is the best medicine”. I appreciate one over night nurse whom was able to give me a resource for free medical equipment! ER was very full and my daughter broke her leg and lots of road rash not only did he step in to help when I was carrying her back and forth to the bathroom but he jumped in to help her after we had been there for a while and not a lot of help. He took over her care, was very calm, reassuring, and did whatever he could to help ease her pain and worry. He then personally wheeled her to the car and made sure she was comfortably in the vehicle before leaving her. Emergency Rooms need more staff like Lyndall!!! The crisis unit in Jay, the staff, therapists, doctor or doctors, case workers, after care, are the very best. On a 12-hour drive through Oklahoma, I got pulled over thanks to what feels like 100 different speed limit changes from 65 mph to 45 mph. While I was on the side of the road, my mother—who was my passenger—ended up being transported to the hospital by ambulance. When I arrived, Dr. Jeff, Doug, and Nick were absolutely incredible. They were kind, compassionate, quick, and took great care of my mom during an already stressful situation. They even joked that my speeding was what sent her to the hospital, and that little bit of humor was exactly what we needed to break the tension. Their professionalism, bedside manner, and genuine kindness made a difficult day much easier. I can’t thank Dr. Jeff, Doug, and Nick enough for taking such wonderful care of my mother. If you’re ever in need of their services, I highly recommend them. I hope the next time I drive through Oklahoma, the only surprise is a good cup of coffee—not another 65-to-45 speed limit change! First time I’ve ever had to use the VA Emergency Room in Muskogee, and I have to say I was impressed. I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it. Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do. They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed. The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door. I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care. Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience.

Jack Brown Center helps Native American juveniles to stop an active addiction while learning to live and cope without the source for the addiction. The staff that was there during my stay was an exceptional group of people. A day is always busy with a large variety of activities such as basketball, kickball, weight lifting, trust fall, disc golf, 12 step meeting's, chess, billiards, Native American chants, going in a Cherokee(I think) sweat lodge, help cooking meals once earned, learning to sew, and my favorite game we referred to as, hoccer, which involved a massive 5' or 6' yoga like ball. At the time I didn't always see it, but the rules were reasonable and helpful such as room had to stay clean, bed was made daily and one form of discipline for breaking rules was to write out a given sentence about the infraction many times. I was even allowed to paint the Choctaw nation seal on the wall while there, although my time was done before I was able to finish so hopefully someone else did. This changed my life drastically and I am always thankful for my experience at the Jack Brown Center!

This hospital used to have the worst doctors but its actually gotten better and they have doctors now who actually know stuff and help you and care about the ppl that comes in needing help and I live about 45 mins from this hospital I wont even go to the hospital closer to me bc they dont know anything and their doctors are them kind to hurry and get you out of their way and nurses and this hospital actually helps you their nurses are very nice respectful and their doctor's they have are as well and listen and get you the proper care you need if your in pain they help actually the hospital in vintia if your in pain like I came in with endometriosis and a cyst and a blockage they said I didnt find anything in your blood work which I also had an infection in my urine too they said the ct scan showed nothing I go to pryor they find all this wront and get me the help I needed vintia sent me home with my gallbladder about to rupture on me knowing it was the next day had to go back to a hospital I get admitted immediately for surgery thats why I will drive 45 mins out of my way or have someone drive me or come with me to go here to get help other than go to vinta which is way closer

I can't say enough good things about this place. These folks have helped me more in 2months than other places did in years!!! My therapist and case manager are my angels! I've seen child clients run to there therapist when the door swung open...it's not just me receiving the GLORIOUS help here. Do the deal and let them help you. Very clean hospital. Staff on the 5th floor were so nice and amazing. The room I was in was massive and felt like I was in a suite. I was well taken care of. The nursing team for any procedure needing to be done kept me calm and talked me through it. They did everything to make me feel very comfortable during my stay. My basic needs were met. They always made sure my call light was near by, they cleaned my bedding and sheets daily. Housekeeping was amazing! If I had an issue it was addressed in a timely fashion. The staff were fun to talk to and share laughs to because some times “laughter is the best medicine”. I appreciate one over night nurse whom was able to give me a resource for free medical equipment! Some of the staff sure did go above and beyond for my care during my stay.

This review is for Lyndall in the Emergency Room. 100% the best staff. ER was very full and my daughter broke her leg and lots of road rash not only did he step in to help when I was carrying her back and forth to the bathroom but he jumped in to help her after we had been there for a while and not a lot of help. He took over her care, was very calm, reassuring, and did whatever he could to help ease her pain and worry. He then personally wheeled her to the car and made sure she was comfortably in the vehicle before leaving her. Emergency Rooms need more staff like Lyndall!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing people that took care of me this shift on 4th floor. This is by no means exclusive as I had so many guardian angels. I feel that I quite literally would be dead without their love and care: Dr. Ellis, Izzy, RN, Bethany CNA, Bri CNA, Lindsey RT, and Samara SST. I have been all over The United States trying to find good crisis and mental health care for my loved ones. (For years now.) The crisis unit in Jay, the staff, therapists, doctor or doctors, case workers, after care, are the very best. They should be funded to the max and expanded to teach other care givers in this Country, how to help people who suffer with mental illness. I just hope they never change!

I was in the ER last week with severe neck and shoulder pain. I was satisfied with the care, but Want to pay special thank you to the lady that took me to get a cat scan. Her name is Mikahla Jennings. She was so kind and took extra care moving me around as I was in terrible pain. She had a wonderful out look on life and the sweetest personality. She visited with me and my Neice who brought me to the Er. We could have talked to her all afternoon. I wish there was something, maybe a certificate to show what an asset she is to your hospital. Always made me feel welcome and part of a family. UPDATE 5 yrs later and Jarra will still answer her phone and help me, talk and remind me about the good qualities that I have.( 4 months later update) So this is my update October 2024 my daughter is at Resonance after she got out of prison and she loves it and is so proud of herself that I talked her into it so. This is the most WONDERFUL staff and place. Definitely a place that makes you feel welcomed and at home. The staff is AMAZING. Always willing to work with you in every aspect and not to mention how they make you feel like family and @ home. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I am so incredibly grateful for the CALM Center. I recently was impatient here and it truly changed my perspective on how I want to live out the rest of my life. I’ve struggled with my mental health for years and have been in and out facilities but let me tell you, the CALM center in the only one who had left an impact on me. If you or someone you love is going impatient please know that they are in safe hands and that they’ll feel truly loved and cared for while they are there. Shout out to Ms. Tabitha, Mr. Scott, and Mr. Jimmy for making the days feel less hard. You can tell they truly have a care for mental health and love their job. Also both therapists are amazing but Mr Spencer is one of the best therapist I’ve ever had. He showed me that their is more to life then what’s going on around me, and genuinely gave me hope for the future. I’ll forever be grateful for the Calm Center and the people who run it. ♥️

It was amazing the food is amazing the stuff for amazing like literally everything about it is amazing except for the beds the beds are a little bit uncomfortable but other than that it's amazing and it's also really short term which I like about that it's only 7 days which is actually not that bad so yeah the doctor really helpful the therapist really helpful everything's really helpful

We had to pay a visit to the ER for my husband on a Sat night. We were dreading a full lobby and long wait, but to our surprise, we were the only ones there. He got right in and he was seen immediately. The labs came back quickly, and he was given treatment which gave him great relief. He did have to wait a couple of hours wait on a scan. Overall it was a good experience.

Here’s a version that reflects what actually happened while keeping the humor tasteful: I had to adjust it a bit since your mom was the patient, not you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Talk about terrible timing! On a 12-hour drive through Oklahoma, I got pulled over thanks to what feels like 100 different speed limit changes from 65 mph to 45 mph. While I was on the side of the road, my mother—who was my passenger—ended up being transported to the hospital by ambulance. When I arrived, Dr. Jeff, Doug, and Nick were absolutely incredible. They were kind, compassionate, quick, and took great care of my mom during an already stressful situation. They even joked that my speeding was what sent her to the hospital, and that little bit of humor was exactly what we needed to break the tension. Their professionalism, bedside manner, and genuine kindness made a difficult day much easier. I can’t thank Dr. Jeff, Doug, and Nick enough for taking such wonderful care of my mother. If you’re ever in need of their services, I highly recommend them. I hope the next time I drive through Oklahoma, the only surprise is a good cup of coffee—not another 65-to-45 speed limit change!
