Out of long acting insulin for a week now. Nothing sent to my pharmacy as requested. Have spoken to several nurses. If you don't have the staff to care for patients correctly, don't accept them. My blood sugar is too high just taking Lantus. Terrible care.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs provide extra support for clients in early recovery and those at a high risk of relapse. They allow clients to focus on their sobriety safe from outside distractions, stressors, and addiction triggers. Clients reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, where they receive extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Many programs also offer robust life skills training and holistic therapies, such as meditation.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Oklahoma is highly recommended for those beginning recovery. As your body detoxes, withdrawal from substances such as alcohol, benzos, and opiates can cause severe physical symptoms. Health risks include seizures, hallucinations, heart palpitations, and severe dehydration. A clinical setting offers 24/7 medical care to treat these symptoms and make the detox process more comfortable.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

To address the issues of addiction, each drug rehab in Oklahoma is tailored to meet the individual's needs. Treatment may occur in a residential or outpatient setting, and may last from a few days to several months.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I brought my husband in for the first time and we were taken back right away. The nurses sprang into action getting him hooked up to monitors and an IV. Dr. Whitsitt was very pleasant, calm, and knowledgeable. I was actually very impressed with the care my husband received. All staff seemed very experienced and efficient, which is not something we're used to in an ER.

Most are very nice people, whoever answered the phone in radiology this morning was not helpful or very nice. I was told I need a CT scan by the Ortho I was referred to, so he sent in an order for CT scan. I called IHS before arriving just to find out that they can't accept the order since it's not a tribal hospital(but it's where they referred me to), and she failed to mention that I could get the order from IHS to themselves. She also told me that no CT scans will be done until next Friday. I was angry and confused so I came to IHS with my mom, the doctor that saw me was confused about the whole situation and immediately went to order me a scan! And I got the disc of pics in less than 30min. I didn't see the lady that answered the phone(gladly), the guy working the machine while I was there was very friendly and funny. Thank you to those I saw today at the ER, y'all are great and EXTREMELY helpful in this mess. I want to give up with this so badly but I can't and y'all got me to the next step of getting through it.

The first time I went for a recurring pilonidal cyst. A student doctor was given to me and she was amazing I went home able to walk normally again after being hunched over from the pain being so intense. So finally I get another cyst just like the last one and this time I was given a male doctor. He was very unprofessional I was in the room alone for at least a hour waiting on this man to come back and basically torture me. First red flag I didn’t know the man’s name until I got my paperwork from the nurse. Secondly he was extremely rough with an already tender area which I rated a 8 out of 10 before even meeting him. When he poked me writhe the needle he didn’t warn me and even as I screamed bloody murder the man still kept pressing on the cyst. (Fun fact: when dealing with these cyst you are never supposed to squeeze them it cause the infection to come right back) after 20 long minutes of me screaming the man finally stops and leaves the room. Doesn’t say anything else to me just disappears. I’m forever grateful for the nurse and everything she’s did for me in those moments of weakness. But the doctor was highly unprofessional and I will never go to him again. It’s been 2 days and I’m already in more pain than I was when I went. Now the pain it’s beginning to become unbearable and I refuse to ever have that doctor again. I’m not looking for sympathy just here to warn you of what to look out for.

You get what you pay for here. I have waited in line all day at the walk-in clinic here, only to be turned away at the end of the day because they were out of time. Very unprofessional.

I recently gave birth here and the entire care team is top notch! From my nurses to midwife and all in between, I felt so supported and encouraged during my labor, delivery, and postpartum care so far. Their holistic approach and comprehensive care has made my experience into motherhood a positive one. Their pediatric department is also lovely and so good with allowing you to perform most tasks related to your child and not taking away your autonomy. Can't recommend these facility enough for women and kids!

Went there last month to get a broken tooth pulled. My blood pressure was high, so they just said "nope" and showed me the door. No alternatives, nothing. See ya, goodbye. Went to Aspen dental and they found that I had actually had a NASTY infection in it and prescribed me antibiotics. Couple of days later, they used nitrous and novocaine and I was in and out in 45 minutes sans one broken tooth. Dentist there said the infection was so bad I could have EASILY died from it, and they were all very nice and professional. Not so with the IH. Rude as all hell and could have cared less about me. You have to be there at 6:30, dental doesn't open till 7, and the dentist don't get there till 8! They make you feel like you're nothing but cattle being herded to the slaughterhouse! Zero respect for the patient at ALL. Shame there isn't a zero star rating, because this is THE WORST place there is. Never again am I going back, even for a band-aid.
