Took our money for the initial visit, only to tell us they can't even test for what his PCP referred him for. I said yes to med management and a student intern therapist. Got a few calls, one where they said they didn't have student interns that see kids and asking if we wanted to keep his file open. I said yes! A few more calls asking if anyone has called me yet. Nope. I told her I have called a few times to see if his records had been transferred to them - and they hadn't. Again, asked if I want his file to stay open. Again, I said yes. Weeks go by. Nothing from them. Then I get an email saying they've closed his file!! So they took several hundred dollars to do absolutely nothing.

6 years ago- This was my first experience with therapy, and unfortunately it was not a positive one for me personally. After sharing my concerns and reasons for seeking help, I was told something along the lines of, “You’re a typical 21-year-old girl who just doesn’t know what she wants.” (-Stevens) That comment left me feeling dismissed and discouraged during what was already a very vulnerable moment. Because this was my first attempt at therapy, the experience made it difficult for me to feel comfortable seeking help again for several years. During that time, I continued to struggle and eventually required treatment at a mental health facility in 2025 when I was 27. After that experience, I was referred to another therapist who has been incredibly supportive, and I’ve now been working with her for over a year. Through that process, I’ve learned how important it is to feel heard and supported in therapy. I understand that every client-therapist relationship is different, and others may have different experiences. However, my experience during that appointment left me feeling discouraged at a time when I was actively trying to seek help.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

A drug intervention in Arkansas is an organized effort made by the loved ones of a person who's struggling with substance abuse. The goal is to show the person how their addiction has negatively affected the lives of family and friends. While some loved ones plan an intervention on their own, it's best to rely on professional intervention services that are available. Involving an expert for insight and guidance can often increase the chances of success for the intervention.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Arkansas is to help individuals stop using addictive substances and learn healthy ways to remain clean long-term. Participants learn vital skills to cope with cravings and manage stress, to prevent relapse.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Developing life skills while undergoing rehab treatment in Arkansas is a crucial part of your recovery. During treatment, you may focus on learning communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving, self awareness, assertiveness, and coping skills.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this office. They require patients to pay their co-pay upfront, which is understandable, but when an overpayment or refund is owed, the process becomes unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. It has been over a month since I was told I would receive a refund, and I continue to get the same response every time I call: “We don’t know what’s going on.” No one seems willing or able to provide a clear explanation, timeline, or resolution. The lack of communication, accountability, and customer service is unacceptable. Patients should not have to repeatedly follow up for money that is rightfully theirs. If this office expects prompt payment from its patients, it should also be able to process refunds in a timely and professional manner. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place. The poor customer service and ongoing issues with handling refunds have made this one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with a healthcare provider.

Very bad communication from employees! I do love my therapist, but everything else about this place is terrible. Had an appointment due to doctors being changed, 1st appointment they emailed me with a link for a telehealth appointment, I called 20 minutes before the appointment & whoever answered the phone informed me that it was a telehealth appointment(I had plenty of time to make it to the clinic) so I try to login for my appointment & it cut me off, so I called back & they inform me that it had to be in person so I asked why they didn’t tell me that when I called prior to the appointment. Today being the rescheduled appointment, I happened to run into a wreck blocking the road so I called for 15-20 minutes before I could get an answer to let them know that I was on the way but was a few minutes behind, then I run into a 18 wheeler on fire off McLeod rd & of course traffic again. I have my previous medical records & now 30 minutes later I am still sitting in the lobby to see if they will let me see the doctor. Mind you I’ve been out of medicine for 4 months now because of the ignorance of their employees!

Response from the owner
We’re glad to hear you value your therapist and are sorry to hear of your experience. Your feedback about inconsistent information and appointment handling is very important and we are addressing these concerns with our team. We also want to acknowledge the added difficulty caused by changes in your prescriber—I'm very sorry that transition left you in a difficult situation. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
