Do NOT send your family members to Parkside. My daughter is there due to postpartum depression and her therapist called child protective services on her family. They accused her husband of using drugs and being abusive (completely false). He passed a drug test and has never had any domestic charges or accusations brought against him.Now CPS won t let her or her husband be alone with their children for at least 6 months.I have since talked to other families who have dealt with Parkside and they also had CPS called on them. Parkside is known for calling CPS on patients and patient families.Stay away from Parkside if you want to keep your family together.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. On January 22nd, 2025 I was sent here for self harm, and I had stayed for 5 days. Lots of staff members were rude, but there were also lots of nice staff members. One thing I have to say about the stay though is on my 2nd day right before bed time I was crying because I was having withdrawal from my mom and the doctor straight forwardly said to me, well your mom didn t love you enough to stop you from hurting yourself, so let s calm down. I get he may not have been in the best mood because it was about 8pm at night, but this truly hurt a lot. I was not expecting a doctor at a mental institution to say this to a patient, and in my opinion, I believe it s disgusting.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Upon inspection, it was determined that the staff has an inexcusable lack of skill and several individuals were determined to have intentionally engaged in federal medicaid fraud. This facillity has been refered to the FBI as well as OSBI for a full, complete, and comprehensive criminal fraud violation, with future arrests and criminal prosecutions to be made at an unannounced time.

My name is heaven and I was there from September to the start of November and then I got transferred so first of all, some of the staff literally was all I had at the time and those are ( ms kori ms ad Mr Chris Mr Maui ms Melissa Mr Jodi Ms roxanna ) my therapist lowkey kinda sucked but I was there for so long . One of the nurses should be in jail and I hope she gets fired because of what she did to me and honestly I don’t care about her. The food was sometimes good better than cedar ridge and that’s where I’m at now. Ms kori I hope you never forget me and you had a huge impact on my life. The rooms are literally amazing and I was on the 5th floor adolescents and I kinda miss them but the groups suck and some of the staff brocade why are they treating kids like that , it makes no sense . Please remember that you guys were really helpful and I don’t know where I would without your hugs to cry in. Please don’t forget me and I hope life is going well - heaven

Do not go here. They try hard to get every dime out of you. They want you to come every month and pay to see the doctor to renew your medication. Called my normal doctor and she called in a prescription for a year for the meds so I did not have to go back there. Then my daughter went there and staff and care was sub par to say the least. They kept her drugged up where she could not talk or tell us how they were treating her. When asked about her release date they just said if we take her home they will call the police and DHS on us and have all my kids taken away. Its like a jail. Never going back for me or my kids.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Best practice mandates routine visits with your prescriber in order to monitor your overall health, assess the effectiveness of your medication, and ensure it's safe and appropriate for you. Some medications may also require lab tests, checks for side effects, and other supervision to protect patient health. In respect to hospital release, discharge planning begins at the time of admission. Typically lengths of stay are short and families are advised of discharge plans along the way. All patients and their families are informed in writing of a grievance and complaint process at the time of admission. It is our hope patients will use that process while in care to provide opportunity for early resolution. If you would like to contact us and discuss your concerns, please call 918-582-2131 and ask to speak with the Grievance Coordinator or Director of Business Development.

We understand that you are displeased. Please understand that healthcare workers are mandated reporters under Oklahoma State Law, meaning they have a legal obligation to report suspected or known instances of abuse or neglect. These laws are designed to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure that threats to their health and safety are addressed promptly. You should also be aware that all persons in Oklahoma are required by law to report suspected or known instances of abuse or neglect.

I was just remembering my stay at ParkSide when I was in high school. Probably completely different now it was in like 2017. I stayed for about a week. I liked it only because I got to meet other patients that had similar situations and just interesting people in general. Also the sedations were nice. Was easy to play them so hopefully they hired new people. I have epilepsy and the nurse gave me the wrong dosage and I had a seizure in the elevator. Also I had some pretty bad wounds on my arms and the ER only gave me butterfly stitches so I asked the nurse if she could clean them up. She said no and they actually got infected and when I left I had to see a doctor so I like..wouldn’t lose my arms. I’m a lot better now though and got some cool tattoos on my scars but I’ll never forget Parkside.

by far, the WORST mental hospital ive been to. PLEASE don’t take your kid here. Or even go here yourself, I got mentally abused. I complained about a certain tech (staff member) to the nurses and I think she got fired. Hopefully she did, she said she doesn’t have to like kids to do her job, yes you do, you’re on a TEEN unit at a MENTAL HOSPITAL. The food was like actual canned everything, inedible and not good. The doctors were very nice and patient, i got rarely any therapy whatsoever. If you need to take your kid/yourself somewhere, i would go to The Calm Center, they have very nice staff. ❤️
