About Project Patch Ranch

Therapy includes individual, family and group therapy sessions. Dialectical behavior therapy is a large part of the treatment program here. It also includes weekly counseling, educational and mental health evaluations and support, behavior modification and trauma-informed treatment programs and aftercare programs to help youth adjust to life after their residential treatment program.

Much of the residential program at Project Patch is based on Christian faith and values. While they do focus their programming on these principles they do not discriminate against any individual based on religion, culture, or any other factor.

Faith is instilled in the youth who attend this program to help them realize their own worth and their potential. It also gives them a sense of greater strength and comfort with the knowledge of their
Creator who loves them as they are and wants them to accomplish great things in life.

Education is provided to residents of the Project Patch program. A portion of each weekday is spent on academic goals and educational pursuits. Located in a beautiful rural setting with stunning mountain views, Garden Valley offers lots to see and do. When your treatment ends, you can enjoy nature therapy through walks on local trails and enjoy the charming downtown district.

Do not send your child into the troubled teen industry!!! They are not forthcoming and transparent at all. Which is the first thing they will label you with during intake- lying. It is a SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST organization which is heavily implemented into this program. If you don’t know what that means, please look into this denomination. “Christian” is a very big umbrella term. My experience demonized the idea of Christianity and therapy. I am in intense therapy currently with C-PTSD because of this place (it has been 8 years) and intense night terrors. I have developed OCD tendencies due to constantly being in fear of getting graded and having all of my “privileges” taken away (ie no speaking, no sitting on furniture, carrying my items in a milk crate). My mother regrets the decision and has cried over this experience. They get the parents through the churches. All the same rhetoric “(I/we) thought you were going to die”. She attempted to pull me out in December 2016, but could not since it is a 12 month contract where the parents write away their rights of their child. I have PCOS and endometriosis and was taken off of birth control by staff because “(i) was not going to be sexually active during my stay”. I have what I believe now to have had ovarian cysts rupture during wilderness. No medical attention was provided. Only moved into the cabin until I was not throwing up and fainting anymore. I have moved multiple times and still get their flyer no matter where I move. A constant reminder of my horrific stay. “Simple compliance” sounds great and dandy on the outside but if you are a teen entering adulthood, that mindset will get you into very dangerous and destructive situations. - “just say “OKAY” ”. The DBT is very cult derived and not accurate as I have gone through my “handbook” and “DBT binder” with a psychiatrist and therapist. It’s been a lot of unprogramming and much more to undo. If you are graduating high school that is what they will use to manipulate you to comply with the program. These “recreational activities” of camping happen for level 2 and only one trip planned a year. It’s not every weekend. Theres NO HORSEBACK RIDING. I say it all caps because we all were under the impression there was before we arrived big LOL. Watch “the program on Netflix” educate yourself before putting your child through more trauma. Which 9/10 is why you are seeking help. Your child has trauma. This place will only make it worse.

20 years later I am still working through the repercussions of the trauma I endured there. My Mother has asked forgiveness for sending me there, many times. The staff was abusive beyond measure, and they went as far as to get the other children trapped there to participate in the abuse as well. I would go more into detail, but it really is a lot and I'm not ready to share it all publicly. There is a support group for survivors from this institution on Facebook. Their stories are a small glimpse into what this place was like for so many young adults.

Hello Arielle,
Thank you for reaching out.
Due to HIPAA regulations, we are not allowed to respond online to details left in public forums. We pay serious attention to feedback, please call Wynter at 360-406-4789.

I can share online that we are now accredited by the same organization that inspects and reviews operations/ policies in hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare locations, The Joint Commission. The state of Idaho Health and Welfare also performs reviews and inspects onsite at least once a year. We are proud of our no deficiency reviews and reports from both The Joint Commission and Idaho State Health and Welfare; both reports are available upon request.

First off I’d like to preface this by saying that I am now doing great, I’m 17 have a job and in the top 10% of my class and involved in many clubs and extracirculars even a founding member and president of 2/3 I’m in, but my success is NO thanks to this place. Let me just say that the amount of hatred the staff had for me bc I was gay before I even had been there for a week was insane I literally got told by these very clear victims of religious psychosis I was gonna go to hell and even got scored once for acting “to feminine” and literally on my first day was told by one of the shift leaders he doesn’t talk to his daughter bc she’s gay so if that gives you an idea of the people who will be working with your kids who can’t even have a relationship with there own should be telling. Anyways the shit they put kids through is horrific they have a “wilderness” program in which you have to make your own tint and sleep in it and nights in the mountains are cold (shocker ik) and all that while staff sleeps peacefully in a cabin. They also lied to my aunt consistently while I was there and her herself has apologized for ever sending me to this place, I’m glad I finally got actual help through a personalized therapists. The troubled teen industry is not the solution to your child’s problems it only makes them worse. END THE TROUBLED TEEN INDUSTRY.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
