Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs ensure clients' access to continuing care after the completion of intensive inpatient treatment. Outpatient care is often considered a component of drug rehab aftercare, but most clients continue to receive support services after being discharged from formal treatment. Service portfolios are customized to clients' unique and evolving needs and are often designed in collaboration with clients' case managers and care teams. Peer coaching, career counseling, relapse prevention, and 12 step program induction are standard.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those in crisis situations that may increase their risk of relapse. Clients reside at the inpatient treatment center for the length of the program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Inpatient treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care and extensive addiction counseling and recovery education using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other psychotherapeutic approaches.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) specialize in high-level care for clients requiring robust support. This includes those in early recovery, those in crisis, and those stepping down from inpatient care. Clients typically participate in a minimum of nine treatment hours per week, but many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 hours of service weekly. Their primary treatment modalities generally combine psychotherapy and recovery education. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and/or opioid recovery is widely available.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medical detox is the process of weaning your body off addictive substances in a medically supervised environment. An on-site medical team may include physicians, nurses, therapists, and other clinical staff whose job it is to monitor your vitals and provide medications if necessary to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. Their goal is to keep you as safe and comfortable as possible throughout the process.. Medically assisted detox programs are individualized to meet your specific needs and can vary in length, but they tend to last 5-7 days.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs enable clients to integrate addiction treatment into their daily lives. Clients typically continue to work and reside at home, but may engage in daily therapeutic sessions, depending on need. Outpatient treatment generally involves individual, group, and/or family therapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and a variety of ancillary services, such as career counseling or vocational training. Outpatient rehabs often encompass multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, and standard outpatient.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often beneficial for individuals who don't require 24-hour supervision, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) can be an alternative to inpatient rehab or a transitional option. PHP treatment typically involves 6 to 8 hours of treatment per day, up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment often includes relapse prevention strategies, medication management, and other behavioral therapy interventions. While the cost of a partial hospitalization program can vary, it is often covered by insurance.

Treatments

Alcoholism is a term used to describe a level of drinking that causes harm to a person's health. Also known as alcohol addiction or alcohol use disorder (AUD), the dependency involves a strong, often uncontrollable urge to drink. This condition is treatable through alcohol rehab in Kentucky. Programs typically involve supervised detox, behavioral treatments, medications, and mutual-support groups.

Drug rehab in Kentucky often starts with detox, then includes inpatient or outpatient treatment, and continues with aftercare support. Specific methods used during each of these phases varies, but often include individual and group counseling, medication, and recreational therapies.

In Kentucky, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs prioritize comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Levels of care include residential rehab, detox, and intensive outpatient programs. Interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, therapy, education and family counseling treat both mental health conditions at the same time. The benefits of dual-diagnosis treatment are enhanced outcomes, improved health, and they provide you with the skills to maintain your sobriety and manage your mental health.

Inpatient addiction treatment means you will reside at the facility and receive rehab and mental health services. Comprehensive treatment programs include mental health aspects, medical and psychological support, experiential therapies, cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), and various therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing addiction and improving mental health. Additionally, individual and group counseling are standard mental health offerings, as are relapse prevention education programs.

mental-health iconMental Health And Substance Abuse
opium iconOpioid Addiction

In Kentucky, comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs are available to address addiction and any co-occurring mental health disorders. Typically, treatment programs offer various levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization. Treatment activities include individual and group therapy, recovery support meetings, evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation. By the end of treatment you will have the resources and supportive recovery community to sustain long-term mental health and sobriety.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Kentucky involves learning to recognize unhealthy thinking patterns and developing problem solving skills to cope with life's challenges. It will help you have greater confidence in your abilities so you can change your patterns of behavior and break free from substance abuse.

Typically, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in Kentucky involves four types of therapy sessions. You'll participate in a pre assessment, skills training in groups, individual therapy, and telephone crisis coaching. The goal is to improve your skills for coping with daily emotions and life challenges.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Family therapy provides families with a structured environment to address the complexities of addiction. You work with an experienced therapist to develop effective strategies for supporting your loved one's recovery while focusing on the well being of each member of the family unit.

Men and women in Kentucky participating in group therapy learn to express their feelings and struggles with drug addiction in a non judgmental atmosphere. Your peers can offer you empathy and encouragement because they understand your journey to recovery. This fosters a sense of community and belonging that may extend far after group therapy sessions.

In individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction, the therapist and patient work together to address the challenges and triggers that drive addictive behavior. This offers a customized approach to a healthier, substance free life.

Several techniques are key to motivational interviewing in Kentucky. Your therapist will use open ended questions, affirm your strengths, reflect your responses back to you, and summarize your responses. This allows you to identify any discrepancies in your current situation and your future goals, which can motivate you to make changes.

What I thought was going to be facility to help people, quickly was shown to just be money pit. I was thrown out same day without any notice without any help or recommendations to go somewhere else. Being thrown out for unpaid rent and not being able to get hired on somewhere but yet not once helped me gain employment. Instead kicked out the door and shuined for it. Charging $125 for rent, but best believe the bill states Medicaid pays for housing 17.85 a day x 7 days a week. Is$124 a week just so happens were required paid $125 a week and held accountable for that. Which accountability isn't the problem, the problem Is the ongoing money pit and then being put down and kicked out the door talked with disrespect while in the program without employment help or resources other then google. Rules are never consistent every week rules change. Transportation limited now. Required 3 meetings a week but won't help transpor clients to them knowing we don't have vehicles. The councilors were great, amazing and compassionate. But some of the high ups that don't even see the clients everyday lives and what they're actually trying an working towards gets thrown out the door. If I didn't have the mindset I do, easily would walk out these doors and potentially end my life with a relapse. Would not recommend this place.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for your feedback, Hayli. We’d like to clarify that our facility provides sober living accommodations, which are separate from treatment services. Medicaid does not cover sober living, and as such, residents are required to pay rent directly. This agreement is signed upon move-in. Additionally, transportation is available, provided there is a 24-hour notice. We appreciate your understanding and are here to answer any further questions you may have.

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the treatment and care provided to my mother during her stay at your facility. My mother was recently admitted to Pinnacle Treatment and was rushed to the emergency room for health-related conditions caused by withdrawal. It is deeply troubling that the facility failed to inform our family of her hospitalization. She remained in the hospital for a week, during which time some of her personal belongings were stolen from her dorm. This situation is unacceptable, particularly for a facility that is entrusted with the responsibility of supporting individuals through rehabilitation. It is disheartening to see a lack of communication with families and a failure to check on the well-being of individuals experiencing severe health challenges under your care. I strongly urge the staff and administration at your facility to reflect on these shortcomings. When individuals are navigating withdrawal or health complications, it is imperative to prioritize their well-being, communicate effectively, and protect their personal belongings. Families entrust their loved ones to your care, and they deserve better. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and implement changes to ensure that no other family has to experience the distress that ours has endured. I would appreciate a written response outlining the steps your facility will take to address these concerns.

My granddaughter had a terrible experience there & stayed less than one day. For one thing she is gay & overheard a staffer refer to her as a "dyke." This isn't a faith-based program, but staff said she couldn't wear some of her t-shirts because the art looked too much like a pentagram. She & others in her group had to disrobe and wear thin paper jump suits to take part in a group discussion with what she felt were inappropriate topics. They required her to turn over her wallet & cell phone, which were locked in a drop box. Just hours after she arrived they called me to say she was opting out of the program & I'd have to pick her up at a nearby fast food spot. When she got in the car she said they refused to return her wallet & phone. I called immediately & was told only leadership members can open the drop box & no leadership is there on weekends so I'd have to check back Monday. We live an hour away from this place but rest assured if her items are not returned on Monday legal action will be taken.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we understand your concerns, Menisa. This is certainly not quality of care that we strive to provide at Recovery Works Elizabethtown. We would greatly appreciate more details regarding the incident so that we can investigate further and take appropriate action if necessary. Please do not hesitate to reach out directly to our leadership team at (270) 982-1244. We value your feedback and are committed to providing the best care.

Not enough employees to handle the load of clients. You're locked out of your room/bunk area from the time you get up at 7am till 7pm when the last group is over. The place is extremely uncomfortable with only hard chairs to sit on all day. If you get wet when it rains, don't worry, just freeze because you're not going to get your dry clothes. You're banned from your personal belongings. Try hanging out 12 hrs a day with absolutely no accommodations like a soft couch, soft drink, snack, etc. There's no cantina set up. You can't bring any food or drink of course, but you can't buy it either. Be ready to give up sodas, candy, snacks, and most other comforts. The groups are large, too large. You don't have much besides AA and movies on weekends and you're still locked out sitting wherever you can find a chair or a spot on the floor. Most of the staff are sincere about helping people but whoever is making the decisions about the things in my aforementioned letter, needs to stay in there 2 weeks as a client with no special treatment. Then maybe, just maybe, she will make a few adjustments. Lobby the necessary funds to hire some help and add humane conditions in the mansion. Recovery can be Hell, don't make it any worse. I know you do a lot of good things, especially for the homeless. I still love the people there, I don't really have hard feelings. I think your problems come from the top.
