New Method Wellness is nothing short of extraordinary. To call it a treatment center feels like an understatement. From the moment I made the call, I knew I was in the right place. I'm so thankful for the team at NMW. I came from out of state after seeing a friend of mine get clean here. I'm now 6 months sober and I'm back to loving myself and life. Juanita and the intake staff make the process with the insurance companies and arrival seamless so you can focus purely on recovery. The staff, main facility, housing, programs and activities are top class. I really couldn't say better things about their program. I wish I would have made it years ago. If you're on the fence like I was don't wait another day, week, year and just call them. You will not regret it.

At the time in my life when I needed a place for healing this name came up immediately! At that time I thought it was too good to be true. I had never been to a treatment center before and did not know what to expect. If that is you, just know that it is real and absolutely amazing! They have someone on staff in particular who is truly an angel. Don’t get me wrong all of the staff are incredible but, this one lady, Juanita practically saved my life. From the initial calls to get me there to being in touch with me at each airport that I had to transfer from, Juanita showed me how much she cared about me. In saying this please keep in mind she did not know me from Adam. She simply knew I was broken and needed help. She will forever be my guardian angel! The facility itself is beautiful. The location is great. The therapy is second to none in my honest opinion. I learned so much about me and what broke me. I wholeheartedly recommend NMW to anyone that needs recovery including mental health and or addiction. They will see YOU the individual. I truly believe in my heart that they are not in it for the money. They are doing what they do to save lives and show us all that there is healing and a bright future ahead of you no matter what has happened in the past.

Accepted Insurance

New Method Wellness works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detoxification is the first step in addiction treatment for clients who require medication-assisted therapy for substance abuse. As a precursor to effective psychotherapeutic treatment, medical detox addresses and mitigates the physical withdrawal symptoms that clients may face, such as seizures, hallucinations, delirium, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, depression, strokes and heart attacks.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

First and foremost, Family Education Group is not Family Therapy, meaning that it does not dive into individual familial dynamics. It is simply a group counseling session that educates families and significant others about the dynamics of substance abuse and recovery, which provides an opportunity for everyone to work together for one common goal: to play an important role in the loved one’s recovery.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutritional Counseling, or Nutrition Therapy, has been demonstrated to drastically improve addiction recovery rates in three-month substance abuse treatment programs. Individuals with substance abuse addiction have dietary issues because they are either not eating enough or they are consuming foods that have low nutritional value. Working with a licensed nutritional counselor, an individual has a better chance at maintaining long-term recovery and improve mental health conditions.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

New Method Wellness is life-changing. Going to NMW was the single best thing I’ve done for myself. Dealing with addiction for twenty plus years; this was truly the greatest gift I could give myself. The program is design to assist all aspects of treatment, including detox, residential inpatient, outpatient, aftercare and long-term recovery with comprehensive aftercare plans and follow-up support. NMW fosters a structured plan of action, teaching and creating a calm, warm and authentic healing environment. The staff are exceptional, to say the least. They are supportive, compassionate, professional, and highly skilled. They are attentive to individual needs and provide personalized care, making the recovery process feel less daunting. They truly care and encourage you through and long after you complete the program. I never thought rehab would actually be enjoyable, but NMW embodies their nomenclature and offers something different, a new method for wellness. The therapy sessions are effective, and the holistic approach is commendable. Therapies include 1:1 with your primary, secondary and occasionally tertiary, group therapy with DBT, CBT, music therapy, yoga, meditation, equine therapy, wolf therapy, art therapy, surfing, hiking and adventure therapy. New Method Wellness is an excellent choice for anyone seeking help with addiction or other behavioral health issues. The combination of skilled staff, robust programs, and a supportive environment makes it a standout option. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh start.

She does a wonderful job holding her patients accountable, yet stays positive and nurturing at the same time. She made a difference in my son’s life. There are so many remarkable things I could offer up about my experience with New Method. I speak of them frequently to those who are kind enough to listen to the story of my son's journey. But I believe the most profound thing I could provide as testimony to what New Method Wellness did for us, is to acknowledge that they saved my son's life. They took a lost, broken, depressed alcoholic and drug addict who had a death wish, and showed him a possibility of something different. And in that experience of a possibility, they gave him the tools to find the strength to make a choice for just one day. And the next day he made that choice again, and again, and again, for 407 days of sobriety, as of today. That is truly some powerfully based evidence of the effectiveness of this program. I have my son back, but he's a version of someone I'd never met before. My son is grateful, humble, and compassionate, with a will to live and make a difference. I am eternally grateful to everyone who facilitated in my son's recovery at New Method Wellness. Thank you.

I have thought long and hard about how to write a review that would be both beneficial to those looking for the right center, and to the New Method's community. The following is my best effort. I researched centers, all over the country, that specialized in dual -diagnosis treatment and landed on New Method Wellness for their comprehensive and holistic approach, location, and team of specialists. Firstly, I spoke with Juanita--admissions director at New Method Wellness--weekly for about a month prior to my daughter agreeing to get help. She was compassionate, but there was also a no-nonsense honestly about her approach. Though she asked me critical questions about my daughter's addictions and mental health, she also opened a line of communication about my role. I would later realize that this was an important part of supporting me for what was to come. When my daughter hit her "bottom," she was ready to talk with Juanita. Game changer! Juanita, through a combination of real talk and compassionate support, laid out a possible path to sobriety. Though it was not a given that my daughter would accept the many challenges that came with getting healthy (in mind, body and spirit), she finally agreed to try. Juanita shared her insights and learned wisdom of navigating the logistics of getting started on this journey, and has continued to be a foundational member of the New Method's team. Things New Method Wellness doesn't do: * They do not make guarantees, and they don't claim to be an easy program. * They do not patronize or diminish the severity of dual-diagnosis, or sugar-coat the harmful consequences of addiction. Things New Method Wellness does: * They provide a holistic and evidence-based program for treating some mental health issues and addiction. * They provide a residential-based living experience that separates the treatment center, from the "home" environment. * They require personal responsibility, and hold clients accountable for their choices * They combine compassionate services with expectations that the clients (and when appropriate their families) are willing and able to work the program. New Method Wellness helped save my daughter's life - and I do not say this lightly. They provided the foundational programming, caring support and nonjudgmental environment that, when combined, created a space for her to feel safe, and subsequently, allowed her to see her choices and disease through a different lens. I believe a program is only as good as its parts, and at New Method Wellness, all parts including support staff and administration, specialists, programming, and adjunct practitioners, are worth mentioning and thanking. My daughter's primary therapist Tracy (in concert with the rest of the therapeutic team) was, and still is, a critical part of her recovery process. She is part sounding board, part voice of support and wisdom, and part cheerleader - and from what I can tell - all heart. Having said all this, my daughter had to do the work. New Method Wellness can only offer services and support, and as with most healing programs, each client must choose to participate - fully and honestly - and within the boundaries set by the center. I am grateful every day for the people and the work being done at New Method Wellness (and other caring centers). I am grateful for the community and the 12-step programs, and I am grateful to hear my amazing daughter's beautiful voice on the phone each morning with an excited *Good Morning* that makes my heart soar. If you are searching for a place for you, or your loved one, to start a journey towards health and healing, I highly recommend New Method Wellness. It can be life-changing.

The outings and extra services were great, but the program just didn't work for me here. If there was one thing I could change about this place above all, it would be to take "The Addict Whisperer" name tag off of Deana's door and replace it with her actual name because she certainly isn't that.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you, Shane, for your feedback. We truly hope you are safe and receiving the appropriate level of care you need for your recovery. Your suggestions have been taken into consideration. We are sending you our best wishes on your recovery journey and hope you find all the support and healing you need.
