In my current case of needing treatment for a long-term relapse-this was the perfect environment for me. My last treatment in Wilmington was not what I needed for myself. On the surface- being allowed caffeine products, cell phone use, and most of all a caring staff of people from top to bottom helped my 30 days stay go easier. Dr. Meelan was also well versed in addiction, and very responsive to my Rx needs. Treatment at Ritual is what you make it-no one is pushing you too hard, and your able to go at your pace. Your kept busy, and the outings on the weekends help the time pass easier. Quentin and Billy as my House Managers were great too. The whole counseling and support staff also were great. If you need treatment, you should at least inquire and look at the Ritual Recovery before making a final decision.

Where to even begin.... I'll start by saying that I finish my 30 day program with Ritual tomorrow afternoon, whoo hoo! I have never been to rehab before, nor have I ever gone through any kind of treatment prior to my 30 days here. I had heard stories and looked around North Carolina and even Georgia before ending up here at this facility and it was the first of many amazing things to happen to me in my early recovery! This program is filled with top notch therapists and counselors, support staff that genuinely care about you as a person needing help, a doctor that listened to what I wanted and helped guide me in the best course of action for ME and also above and beyond house techs that make sure you feel safe and welcomed. (Billy and Q, I'm talking about you.) Also, they ALL have gone through recovery themselves and know what it's like for you in whatever stage of recovery you're in. The house you stay in (speaking only for the men) is large and on the side of a mountain! It has hiking trails, multiple fire pits, a pool table, a HUGE kitchen full of food, an indoor pickleball court (yes, you read that correctly) and a modest but effective workout area in the garage. And although you have clinical during the week, on the weekends they take you out for activities to help you readjust to doing fun things out in the world without drugs and alcohol in a safe, controlled way... while still having a blast! (Get them to take you to volleyball on Sunday. You won't regret it.) The clinical days begin around 9am and end around 3pm and the therapists are as different as they are wonderful. You get such a mix of personalities and knowledge, you can't not learn something. The groups focus heavily on peer sharing and problem solving with a therapist there to help sort out the unnecessary stuff not serving you and work to refocus each one of us on what works, helping you learn coping mechanisms and techniques to stave off the addiction moving forward. You will be given one on one time with one of the therapists during your stay and meet with them once a week to sort out your own personal needs and individualized ways to handle your addiction. The groups during the day are individually run by all the different therapists and counselors so you get a mix of concepts, ideas and therapy styles all designed to help you in the next stages of your recovery. Just don't vape in group. =P Not only did Ritual work with me financially, but they also helped me navigate through programs I can take advantage of after my stay and helped set me up with AA, NA, even CMA and CA groups I can attend in my area after I leave the program. I also developed a killer support system through the people I met in the program and the group meetings we attended. All in all, Ritual changed my life for the better. They helped me get my life back on track but they will be the first to tell you that YOU have to do the work. They give you the tools, they help keep you clean while you're in their care and they WANT you to succeed, but they can't do it for you. I know that tomorrow when I "graduate" from the program, I feel a thousand percent more confident in handling whatever life throws my way with the new tools courtesy of Ritual. I can only take it one day at a time, but each day is looking a little brighter already thanks to them. 100 out of 10! Thank you to all at Ritual. - Andy

Ritual Recovery- Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Asheville works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financing your treatment can make treatment more accessible. You'll work with your care provider to set up payment plans, including interest rates and repayment timelines. Financing options vary widely and not all programs offer them, so be sure to get the full details before enrolling in treatment. Levels of Care

sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in North Carolina offers structure and support to help individuals maintain sobriety. The home is free from substances and offers 12-step programs, individual responsibilities, and mutual support with others in recovery. This setting can provide a lifeline as individuals strengthen recovery skills and prepare to reenter mainstream society. Most residents remain in a men's or women's sober living home for six months or more.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) evolve with clients' changing needs and are often well-suited for clients exiting inpatient rehab and those at an increased relapse risk. These programs typically involve between nine and 20 hours of treatment weekly, with the intensity and frequency of care decreasing as clients stabilize. Most intensive outpatient rehabs integrate a variety of treatment modalities to maintain a high level of individualized care. Services generally include counseling, recovery education, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients who are exiting detox or stepping down from intensive inpatient care typically transition directly into outpatient treatment. Outpatient programs are designed to allow clients to either re-enter or remain in their communities while receiving robust, personalized care. Many facilities offer evening, night, or weekend services to accommodate clients' home and work schedules. The most common outpatient treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often used as a "step-down" option after you've completed a residential or inpatient program, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) typically involves a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for approximately 90 days. Programs offer structured programming that includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment varies among insurance providers.

Treatments

Alcohol use disorder, commonly called alcoholism, involves an inability to control the amount or frequency you drink and feeling withdrawal symptoms when you don't drink. Treatment for alcohol addiction may involve residential or outpatient alcohol rehab in North Carolina, counseling, or 12-step programs. Typically, some form of professional treatment and support is necessary to achieve long-term recovery.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

In North Carolina, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs focus on providing integrated care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses. You can generally expect a range of programs, including intensive outpatient, inpatient residential, and partial hospitalization options. Therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapy, and family therapy address both disorders and promote mental health and well-being, giving you the tools to sustain long-term recovery.

Drug and alcohol rehab programs that simultaneously treat mental health disorders are known as dual diagnosis centers. The specialized programs recognize that mental health conditions affect the whole person - physical, emotional, and spiritual. That's why mental health is at the center of many different dual diagnosis therapies, including individual and group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma therapy, family support therapy, and more.

mental-health iconMental Health And Substance Abuse
opium iconOpioid Addiction

North Carolina offers substance abuse treatment programs that provide a holistic and evidence-based approach. Through a comprehensive mental health assessment, addiction experts can provide an individualized care plan specific to your needs. You can expect most rehabs programs to provide individual and group therapy, recovery meetings, and evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Depending on your circumstances and severity of addiction, you may need more intensive care. Levels of care include outpatient, residential inpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization. By choosing the right level of care, you're more likely to succeed in long-term recovery.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Clients who receive cognitive behavioral therapy in North Carolina typically attend five to 20 sessions. During this time, they work with their therapist to learn healthier patterns of thinking, which can help them change their behavior related to substance use.

Trauma therapy helps you reclaim your life after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Therapists help to process these memories, which promotes emotional healing and reduces anxiety in social situations. This improves your overall well being and increases your self confidence.

You can participate in creative arts therapy in a variety of settings. Options include medical institutions, rehab facilities, and therapists' offices. Sessions are held in individual and group formats. Types of therapy include music, drama, dance, and painting.

Family therapy sessions address the emotional toll that addiction has had on the family unit and individual members. Therapists work with families to develop better coping strategies, which in turn create a stable environment for their loved one's recovery process.

Routine tasks are difficult for someone experiencing addiction. Daily skills deteriorate, which makes it harder to achieve recovery. That's why drug rehab programs in North Carolina reteach basic life skills. This gives you the tools you need to manage daily life without returning to substance use.

music1 iconSound Therapy

During nutrition therapy in North Carolina, you'll work with a nutritionist to develop a dietary plan. Medical professionals will provide input based on your health needs. You'll learn to create goals for nutrition and develop the skills you need to meet them.

Recreational therapy in North Carolina helps you during drug and alcohol addiction recovery by engaging you in activities that support your physical and mental health. Sports, arts, and outdoor adventures give you positive experiences that help replace substance use and help you develop healthy habits and a support network.

Ritual recovery has definitely been a huge part of saving my life. My therapist JT was amazing and was always there for me with his door open if I needed him. My plan was tailored to me specifically and the group setting was also helpful. Outside of the clinical setting the men’s home was amazing. The men’s house was very nice with trails onsite and other activities available. Extremely peaceful. Billy and Q were ALWAYS there for me when I needed to talk. We were also taken on many outings on the weekends that proves fun can be had without drinking. Thank you so much to everyone at ritual for all you have given me to use on my recovery!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly honored to have been part of your journey. I just got out of PHP a 30-day program at ritual recovery. I highly recommend anybody that is wanting to change their life and learn how to live sober and clean. I highly recommend a clinician there by the name of Megan in the women's tech Jillian. They are both amazing women that really care about everybody's sobriety. If I could rate this place a 10 star I would. Highly Recommend! Brittani McKethan

Thank you, Brittani! We’re so glad you had such a meaningful experience in the program. We’re honored to have been part of your journey and are cheering you on every step of the way!

“It is pointless trying to know where the way leads. Think only about your first step, the rest will come.” ― Shams Tabrizi Ritual Recovery is a world class rehab. That's all there is to it. I'm so far beyond grateful for what everyone there gave me. The support they offered me through some of the hardest first steps I've ever had to take in my life is beyond language, so I'd be wasting my time trying to use it. It's rare in this world to get to meet people as genuine, caring, compassionate and loving as the staff. All of them. You could not ask for better. I'm not really sure if they make better people. There are lights in this world bright enough to let you see in the darkness. And to remind you the darkness is worth it, just to get to see the light again. “To return to the source of things, one has to travel in the opposite direction.” - René Daumal 10/10. This place is the place. This way. Is the way.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for sharing such a powerful reflection. We're honored to have walked beside you through those first steps and beyond. The journey isn’t always easy, but knowing we could be a light in that process means the world to us. Wishing you continued strength, clarity, and peace on the path ahead.

My experience here was simply amazing. The staff is so caring and compassionate. The content of information was on target for whatever you’re struggling with. I loved the yoga and different holistic guidance for restoring the mind. The accommodations far exceeded my expectations. Wooded and quiet. Away from the chaos and into a space of relearning. I came there broken and left feeling like I had been restored, and also confident in my own abilities to make good decisions. I didn’t want to leave but I did with excellent informational tools to deal with life. Highly recommend Ritual Recovery!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you so much for your thoughtful words. We’re truly honored to have been part of your healing journey and to hear that the holistic support, peaceful setting, and compassionate care made a lasting impact. Wishing you continued confidence and clarity as you move forward, you’ve got this!

I have been to multiple treatment centers across multiple states. Ritual by far provided the highest level of care that I experienced. The clinical staff was outstanding including 1-1 therapy and group therapy. One big difference was that group therapy was much more interactive rather than lecture style which I experienced at other centers. The living quarters were fantastic. The house was 6,000+square feet with a gourmet kitchen, large screen TV's, pool table, corn hole... The house managers Quinton and Billy are down to earth and make the house run smooth without being overbearing. Overall, I highly recommend.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're honored to hear that Ritual stood out among other treatment centers and that both our clinical approach and living environment made a difference for you. We’re especially glad Quinton and Billy helped make your stay feel supportive and balanced. Wishing you continued success on your journey!
