Tikvah Lake was life changing for me! No one wants to find their self completely broken by the stresses and tragedies that happen in life. But if you find yourself needing help, I would highly recommend Tikvah Lake. It is a private facility on a beautiful lake in Sebring Florida. There are no more than six guests there at one time, affording the opportunity to have individual care. The staff was top-notch! So Caring & thoughtful! Chef Ralph rocks that kitchen. I worked with several therapists in group settings and in individual meetings. I don’t think I could’ve found any better care elsewhere. They have raised the bar high and have lived up to everything I could’ve hoped for. But I got a rave about my man Zach. He was the first person to contact me and help me make all the arrangements. He’s the right man for that job. He is full of compassion & kindness. He made a very hard, emotional decision peaceful. My time there changed my path to one of wholeness.

I just finished 30 days here, and honestly—it changed my life. I came in feeling broken and overwhelmed by trauma, and I’m leaving feeling lighter, stronger, and so much more myself. The staff is amazing—so kind, supportive, and truly there for you. My therapist helped me work through things I never thought I’d be able to talk about, and I’m so grateful. Also… the chef deserves a shoutout! The food was actually really good, and it made such a difference during tough days. If you’re thinking about getting help, this place is special. I’m walking out with a clear head and a hopeful heart. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here. 💛

I have stayed at both Tikvah and park manor (fortunately/unfortunately because I needed 2 stays). Both houses are great! Tikvah has a more “modern” feel and park manor has a more “Home like” feel. I am a professional so those looking for a place to have the freedom to stay in touch with work and have a place who understands this, this is the right place! What makes this company so special, unique, and sets it apart from anywhere else (unfortunately this isn’t my first rodeo, I relapsed after 3.5 years) is the staff. The concierges truly want to make you as comfortable and happy as possible!! Roosevelt, Dee, Dianne, Linda, Victoria, Dana, and Leslie are all hands down incredible and truly do this job because they CARE about the clients. I’ve been in and out of therapy since college (I’m 45), i haven’t had therapists more engaged, knowledgeable and caring. Byron at Tikvah and Jimmy at Park Manor are incredible, honestly words can’t describe how amazing they are. I just left an 11 day stay at park manor, I can tell you in that short time jimmy made a huge impact with myself as well as my relationships with my kids due to me breaking trust relapsing. He taught me how to manage triggers and process stress and depression in a positive way. This company was a God send to me!! Katherine, the director, will give you her cell phone and encourage you to call if you need ANYTHING, and she means it!! The food is great and if you don’t like something the concierge staff will make sure you do have a meal you enjoy, the chef prepares alternative dishes too. There’s a pool and hot tub at each location. You will have your own room and bathroom! The groups are great! Alesia was my favorite facilitator, Neville is amazing as well and does a great job challenging you in a positive way. The mix of personality’s and therapy style couldn’t be better!! I will say make sure you are clear on your expectations with Zack (admissions), he is a reasonable guy, cares, is transparent, and also will be available before, during and after your stay (rare for an admissions person in my experience). Also if you know you’ve got a hard detox ahead of you, let him know. Both houses manage medicine but they aren’t a “full detox”, Zack will set this up for you if need be before coming to one of the houses. I hope I never need to go back, but if I do, I will hands down come here. I will miss all of these people who cared for me like they’ve known me for years yet I was a complete stranger. But I will keep in touch.

Accepted Insurance

Tikvah Lake Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Tikvah Lake Recovery is a Residential Treatment Center for those struggling with Addiction and Co-occuring disorders. The facility believes that personalized treatment works. Each person has unique problems that have to be dealt with individually with their clinical and medical staff.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Substance abuse creates biochemical imbalances in your body and brain. By implementing dietary changes, you can restore that balance. This is the goal of nutrition therapy in Florida. You'll gain an understanding of what nutrients your body needs and learn best self care practices.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

One benefit of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in Florida is variety. NRT comes in multiple forms that you can use in different ways. This allows you to choose the form that works best with your needs and lifestyle. Your options include gum, patches, inhalers, and prescription medication.

My Experience at Tikvah Lake Recovery I recently completed a 30-day stay at Tikvah Lake Recovery. While I don’t have previous treatment experiences to compare it to, Tikvah fully met—and in many ways exceeded—my expectations. Highlights: • Exceptional Staff: The concierge and support team were first-class, consistently going above and beyond. • Outstanding Therapists: I worked with two individual therapists, both of whom were incredibly skilled, insightful, and supportive. • Whole-Body Wellness: Daily sessions with a personal trainer, yoga, massage therapy, and acupuncture contributed significantly to my physical and emotional recovery. • Balanced Schedule: Tikvah provided valuable downtime for personal reflection, connecting with family, or even keeping up with light work responsibilities—something I greatly appreciated. Things to Consider: • Program Structure: I really just have one, though this was not a negative factor for me. If you are seeking a facility that schedules meetings or groups every waking hour (including weekends), Tikvah’s structure—which intentionally incorporates downtime—might not be what you are looking for. A Personal Note: During my stay, I made two serious mistakes within one week. Katherin Wesley, Clinical Director, easily could have discharged me. Instead, she met the situation with compassion and grace—when we discussed what happened, she had tears in her eyes. She believed in me. She fought for me. Looking back, I truly believe that one day—maybe even 20 years from now—I will say she saved my life. ________________________________________ In summary, Tikvah Lake Recovery provided a nice balance between therapy sessions, personal wellness, and free time for yourself.

Extremely unprofessional I would read the reviews throughly before coming here. The admissions person Jill will tell you anything and everything to get you through the door and once you’re there you’ll find out everything she said was a lie. My husband was kicked out due to having health issues. They kicked him out without his medication and now will not answer any of his calls/texts knowing his recent diagnosis. We have also asked for medical records they will not respond. While there they got a new director who told everybody staff / clients not to speak to him prior to kicking him out. (Lol, the new director mean girled him) The level of unprofessionalism here is uncanny. Let’s not forget the first day of admissions Victoria the tech was telling him she wants to get promoted to house manager so put in a good word for her and ended up being the rudest one there. By the way, there is no private chef the food is dropped off in a bag and the techs have to cook it. You have to pay for anything extra. They are extremely cheap to the point where all of the food they do have that you don’t have to buy on your own is great value. Great value isn’t the issue by the way they're displaying themselves as a luxury treatment facility then nickel and diming everything when you arrive. They have their employees driving you around in their own cars (no liability there am I right?) they’re so cheap that they don’t pay their employees gas and mileage while making them take their own vehicles under their own insurance. They also do not drug test. There is about 2 hours of group a day (if that) and if you’re lucky you get an individual session. Treatment centers are required to have a minimum of 5 hours a day to be considered a real treatment center. In the 9 days there, there was 4 hours of group and no individual sessions. Byron who is the lead therapist should’ve become director of these facilities. The new director is a business woman with no personal experience with addiction. Some people seem to forget the letters at the end of their name means nothing if they don’t have compassion towards the recovering addict. This place is a joke do not come here unless you’re looking for a place to hang out and play video games outside of home for a bit but if your looking to actually recover this is not the place for you. It’s also not a group setting if you’re set to go there you may be going alone or with one other person (which you would think there’s more individualized therapy due to the lack of clients, nope) Be very careful attending / sending a loved one here. Once you’re not a client they won’t even return your calls. Also, be smart about the marketing technique they use. Behind every bad review a good one is next. I really wonder why. Reply to response: I gave plenty of details in my review. Jill was the admissions person which I still have texts between us two proving these things happened and while there the director was switched to another woman named Jill who kicked my husband out for getting diagnosed with diabetes.

Having been to multiple rehab facilities before, I’ve gained a clearer sense of what works for me in recovery. I understand that no facility can perfectly meet everyone’s expectations, but I can share my subjective experience at Tikvah. Overall, I found most of the staff to be incredibly supportive and focused on making my stay as comfortable as possible. I never felt judged or burdened by the stigma often tied to addiction—in fact, I felt the opposite, which was a relief. Compared to a previous “luxury” facility I attended, Tikvah stood out for its effective therapy. Jimmy, in particular, was exceptional—the best therapist I’ve encountered in years of treatment, hands down. That said, I wouldn’t describe the facility as luxurious, despite how it might be marketed. It’s comfortable and clean, but the accommodations felt dated—think basic bedding rather than high-end sheets or beds. The food was a letdown for me; I ended up eating mostly carbs, which felt at odds with the recovery focus on a healthy lifestyle. I’d hoped for more nutritious options. Staff interactions were a mixed bag. While I appreciated the kindness of Zack, Katherine, and the concierge team—who genuinely seemed to care—I often heard more about their personal lives than I shared about mine outside of therapy sessions. Medical oversight was another concern. There’s no medical director, and the nurse, Wendy, came across as cold and dismissive. Early in my stay, I had an infection that staff overlooked for three days until my personal doctor intervened with a prescription. Despite these challenges, I left Tikvah proudly sober and confident in my recovery. Jimmy’s therapy, along with the support from much of the staff, made a real difference. It’s not a perfect place, and it’s no substitute for home, but I’m grateful for my time there. If you’re considering Tikvah, I’d say it’s a solid option for therapy-focused recovery—just don’t expect luxury or flawless care. Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.

I had a loved one go here. The place is beautiful. The staff is friendly and anything that was needed for my loved one was handled quickly. It was a great experience on my end and I would highly recommend sending anyone you love to this place.

i went to tikvah lake for bipolar disorder and substance use. the treatment that i received there is priceless. the therapists are incredible, the director is a beacon of light, and the staff are the most welcoming and loving people. i felt like i was home. the environment was inviting, luxurious, and comfortable. they taught me tools to use in the real world that help me cope with my issues. they helped me with medication adjustments and when i needed something done they listened to me and helped me accomplish what i set out to do. not everything is always perfect, but there was always a solution at tikvah. and that’s all i could’ve ever asked for. thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me.

I waited awhile before writing a review to cool down. Didn't work. I am still furious. I paid $20K for 10 days at this "rehab." It was a total ripoff. And I have no one but myself to blame. There is no "program" here. Just a bunch of barely qualified therapists who are there to cram AA down your throat. There is no medical component, just a nurse practitioner who showed the first day and disappeared. The food, when the "chef" was actually there, was abominable. It is just another Florida rehab warehouse, though with nice rooms. The worst was the financial shenanigans. I paid $20K and the deal was, they would collect any money from my insurance company. IN ADDITION TO the $20,000. There was a woman there who paid $600 LESS per day than I did. For that kind of money you can go to a REAL treatment center with REAL qualifications and a REAL daily program. DO NOT GO HERE. I was sober exactly two days after I left. And right now I am absolutely out of time and out of money and I owe it all to Tikvah. Thanks guys for a horrid experience. I don't know how the people who run this place can live with themselves, especially the admissions person.

My experience here was top notch. The therapists were amazing and were able to provide me the tools I need for adopting a completely new lifestyle. The staff were very caring and accommodating. Administration also cared on a deep level and helped me with my situation. 10/10. Gold star for Katherine especially!

**5-Star Review for Tikviah Lake Recovery** I cannot express enough gratitude for my experience at Tikviah Lake Recovery. From the moment I drove up to the beautiful property, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and hope. The stunning house, picturesque grounds, and inviting swimming pool and Jacuzzi immediately set a positive tone for my stay. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by two incredibly kind staff members who made me feel welcome and cared for right away. The respect and compassion shown by everyone at Tikviah Lake were truly heartwarming. The facility itself is comfortable and private, with my own room featuring an ensuite bathroom and shower, which greatly contributed to my sense of comfort and safety. The meals were absolutely fantastic. I was there for Thanksgiving, and we were treated to an incredible prime rib dinner! The staff took care of all my meal needs, ensuring I was well-fed and satisfied throughout my stay. What impressed me even more was the staff's willingness to assist with outside appointments and errands. They were more than happy to take me to my doctor’s appointment and even to the store when I needed to pick up a few essentials. Overall, my experience at Tikviah Lake Recovery was transformative. The supportive environment and dedicated staff made a significant difference in my journey toward recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend Tikviah Lake to anyone struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues. If you’re considering a dual diagnosis rehab, this is the place to go. Thank you, Tikviah Lake, for everything!

Tikvah Lake was the perfect place for me to start my own path of Recovery. The concierges are the most helpful, kind and caring individuals that I have met in a setting like this. They truly and deeply care for all of the guests in the house. The one on o e therapy sessions and group sessions occur once a day every day of the week and are very helpful and insightful. I cannot say enough about the therapists that are giving you treatment. They are very knowledgeable and experienced within the field of addiction and mental health. I would recommend Tikvah Lake to my loved ones and anyone that is seeking therapy and recovery.
