Elsa my therapist changed my life and showed me I was worth more than what I was doing. She was an amazing listener and one of the best therapist I’ve ever had. I don’t even have the words to say how much of an impact she was on me. The first employee I met Ivy paved what my stay was going to look like she was absolutely wonderful. Diane was the biggest sweetheart I’ve ever met in my life she literally held me in her arms as I cried and it felt like my mom holding me. Nila was amazing as well! I truly have nothing bad to say about my stay there. Catherine has a personal investment in each and everyone who comes through those doors. I am blessed to have gone through this program and thank you for not giving up on the trainwreck I was when I walked through those doors. Tikvah changed my life.

I will preface by saying I was far from perfect when I arrived at Tykva. I had my struggles. I would research before going here for opiates. I was there July 2025. I am a health care professional that has worked in hospital and Skilled nursing homes..ect so I have some medical knowledge. I chose to get off of a prescribed medication and I chose Tykva. Dana, and Chelsea, were wonderful and Ivy although , new very caring. as well. Psychologist's, Byron and Jimmy were excellent. Chef , Ralph was sweet , smart and so very talented! He made me beautiful salads and beautiful meals as I am vegetarian. Now for the not so good: Staff introduced a NP as "Dr. Wendy". With all due respects, you are NOT a DR. ! I was prescribed 4mg MORE Subutex than my script for 8mg. I finally had to request to speak with Dr Davidoff who's online video says he will talk to any patient. Nope. Neither he nor his CEO son were available according to Zack. I finally requested a consult with Dr .Toledo, Medical Director who looked at my meds and agreed the taper was NOT correct . So I was tapered off a prescribed opiate, Subutex, that I had been on 13 yrs.in 6 days the last week of my stay. Try that for fun.!!! I received Visteril, an antihistamine ,for withdraw. I still feel withdraw and I'm home several days. All that money I spent with me needing to tell staff about Clonidine for withdraw and to decrease high blood pressure. ect I do appreciate them letting me bring my cats.. truly my pets gave me so much peace. Nowhere else would allow my cats. I'm very grateful to have had them there with me. I FINALLY got a seasoned nurse after two other nurses....Cassandra, you are a jewel! Thank you Cassandra for being there for me. Now Cassandra can call herself a nurse.! Excellent! She checked on me several times, adjusted meds for Clonidine and stopped by my last day to check on me. I'm SO grateful for her. Katherine posted signs all over house to call her in need of anything. I called at 8:45 one eve , but she goes to bed at 9 pm so did not reply. She also does not work weekends. NO nurse there in house after 9pm. No one but a night watchman. If you are going through withdraw and need med's ..forget it. NO NURSE AT NIGHT. For UTI I was sent to hospital for 6 days! No walk in clinic..Off I went to Hospital. Katherine recommended IOP to me at end. I have proof with IOP's calling me saying that Tykva recommended IOP. I have these conversations recorded on my phone after asking for consent to record. Then , after speaking with my brother , Katherine changed recommendation to PHP ..without telling me.! I was emailed PHP recommendation ..but she and I had just conversed via telephone and I had been assured "least resrictive IOP" I was too ill to open computer and read she had changed recommendation. There were 3 patients in house.. THREE. They OVERDOSED one woman with 4x antihistimine med she needed and she hallucinated all night! THREE PATIENTS ! Tykva appeared to do well with alcohol. Others were very satisfied. I would recommend doing your research. The Dr. of acupuncture was wonderful! Miguel who did massage are AWESOME! It is a lovely place in SO many ways ..with caring Concierges, a great Chef, beautiful amenities, boat rides on a lovely lake..excellent psychologist's A few tweaks and it would be awesome. Once again , thank you to staff mentioned who were honest and wonderful to me.

Let me be honest here I was here 3yrs ago, I am a licensed substance abuse counselor who came here for help with gambling addiction. From the first conversation with Dave I felt uncomfortable. He kept referring to gambling addicts of having no money and asking how I was planning on paying for the 10-Day Executive Program. Kind of put a bad taste in my mouth but I understand this is a business. About a week in, I knew I made a mistake. They didn't have any chefs like the website mentioned. I saw only 1 medical provider who was a nurse practitioner to clear me of physical health ailments outside of the center. It wasn't even part of the program, I think my insurance covered the cost. I am lucky enough to have brough my own medications with new scrips on them or I don't know how or what I was going to do if I ran out. I'm talking simple SSRI's and gabapentin. Nothing hardcore at all. My next issue was the accommodations, they had none. We literally door dashed my last 5 dinners. They never had a chef onsite. I NEVER saw the M.D. and basically was thrown/ pushed into staying an extra 2wks because the counselors were going to put me as AMA which I didn't care because I was paying out of pocket. I was only supposed to be there for 10 days anyways for the executive program in which I discussed with David and his clinician on the way down. I only met 3 other patients or clients while I was there so I guess the positive is that there are no group sessions. My last week I had the honor of having construction crews doing renovations next to the therapy room. I don't' even think the team signed any HIPPA clauses because they were around all the time making all kinds of loud noises. Disrupted the therapeutic process entirely. Some of the staff were friendly but they were not accredited or certified. One of the staff members went through my mail which is illegal and the same person also opened and operated my medication without being clinically accredited to do so. I had to tell them multiple times they are breaching so many laws. I left the program and continued to do after care but Jeff kept insinuating more money more money even though he told me I paid for the whole program. He even said Tommy you stayed longer than you were supposed to so if you ever want to come back you have a week for therapy. Instead he wanted me to pay more money to come down and stay at a hotel and driver to the center for counseling sessions. I will admit that they did push Christianity on me a little but I understand its the south and people do their own things. I didn't like that. At the end of the day this is a business and all they want is to make the most money and hopefully save a life. I totally felt taken advantage of. I'll break my own confidentiality to make sure this place knows what they did and to whom it was affected. My name is Thomas Barnett.

Accepted Insurance

Tikvah Lake Recovery works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Tikvah Lake Recovery is a Residential Treatment Center for those struggling with Addiction and Co-occuring disorders. The facility believes that personalized treatment works. Each person has unique problems that have to be dealt with individually with their clinical and medical staff.

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.

24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.

The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

In Florida, substance abuse treatment focuses on treating mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to improve recovery outcomes and overall health. Levels of care include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) or medication-assisted treatment, group therapy, and skills training activities. This comprehensive approach to treatment helps to ensure sustained recovery.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Substance abuse creates biochemical imbalances in your body and brain. By implementing dietary changes, you can restore that balance. This is the goal of nutrition therapy in Florida. You'll gain an understanding of what nutrients your body needs and learn best self care practices.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

One benefit of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in Florida is variety. NRT comes in multiple forms that you can use in different ways. This allows you to choose the form that works best with your needs and lifestyle. Your options include gum, patches, inhalers, and prescription medication.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

I waited awhile before writing a review to cool down. Didn't work. I am still furious. I paid $20K for 10 days at this "rehab." It was a total ripoff. And I have no one but myself to blame. There is no "program" here. Just a bunch of barely qualified therapists who are there to cram AA down your throat. There is no medical component, just a nurse practitioner who showed the first day and disappeared. The food, when the "chef" was actually there, was abominable. It is just another Florida rehab warehouse, though with nice rooms. The worst was the financial shenanigans. I paid $20K and the deal was, they would collect any money from my insurance company. IN ADDITION TO the $20,000. There was a woman there who paid $600 LESS per day than I did. For that kind of money you can go to a REAL treatment center with REAL qualifications and a REAL daily program. DO NOT GO HERE. I was sober exactly two days after I left. And right now I am absolutely out of time and out of money and I owe it all to Tikvah. Thanks guys for a horrid experience. I don't know how the people who run this place can live with themselves, especially the admissions person. UPDATE: I am still reeling financially from this place as they try to mine more money from my insurance company. Apparently $10K wasn't enough for these money grubbers.

Response from the owner
Hi,
Not sure who you are referring to about the chef or therapists or anyone. What you are saying doesn’t sound accurate without details.

Can you specify who you are talking about?
