I have been to a few inpatient rehabs in the Sacramento area and this one by far is the best. The building is in a great neighborhood in fair oaks huge spacious house with great amenities. I am a vegetarian and they were very accommodating with my food. I was greatful as this was the only rehab facility that had yoga, soundbowl and they took us to the gym three times a week as well as outside meetings and no other facility had anything close to these. The staff was very friendly as well as professional and I would highly recommend this facility for addiction and mental health services.

This was not my first inpatient rehabilitation for mental health, but this was first time at Akua for mental health. By far the best care I’ve received. I was amazed at their holistic approach and how passionate and extremely helpful every staff member is! Every staff member…I mean every single staff member on every shift helped me with one on one talks, exercises, suggestions, and active listening. The therapist I had was amazing and empathetic to my needs while doing Brain Spotting. I recommend this place to anyone who needs care, whether it’s addiction and/or mental health.

If you want to go to a place to recover and help your mental wellbeing, do not go here. Staff is uninformed and treats mental health patients like they are lower beings. Food is greasy and has hair in it, NO air conditioning, employees steal items out of your “box” that they keep your personal belongings in (my SIM card was gone within 72 hours of being there). Jacob and Rudy, the directors here, are unprofessional and do not want to help others who are going through crisis. Staff here hands out worksheets and other BS they think is going to help- it doesn’t. Had to depend on the other residents there to get through my stay. Find another place to go if you are experiencing any mental struggles, because Akua will not keep you safe. I have BPD and diagnosed epilepsy and they treated me as if I was a lower human.
