I brought in my son for a possible broken leg yesterday. And the whole experience was comforting. The wait time was not long, the doctor and staff, were caring, comforting, and empathetic. We were also able to get diagnostics, treatment and discharged fairly quickly considering how busy they seemed.

As a mom of 3 (2 of whom have special needs) I am beyond grateful and thankful to/for Dayton Childrens. We have seen so many departments and specialties. To name a few ER- wonderful. Makes sure not only our kids are taken care of but that we were as comfortable as we could be. I was having back pain while my son was admitted and they took the time to create and makeshift heating pad out of a diaper for me. I will never forget that.Imaging- goes above and beyond to ensure patient comfort.Endocrinology- Al Hammad is so great. Love her. Very thorough and professional. Great with my son.Neurosurgery dept- everyone has been wonderful.Physical Therapy- Josh Fries is one of my favorite people ever. My son has been a patient of his for years. He s so amazing with kids and very knowledgeable.Orthopedics- Dr Biemesch is wonderful. She is very professional and thorough.Pharmacy- handled our refills and med transfers so quickly with friendly staff.Nothing but wonderful experiences throughout the years. I am so grateful for Dayton Childrens Hospital.

since having my second I ve had so so many issues with Dayton Children s about not listening to me to accusations, to thinking you know my child better than I do I have finally left seeing Dayton Children s completely, but I am still running into stuff that you guys should have noticed when my baby is born but instead your lactation consultant said my babies lip and tongue tie was barley a class 1 and will get better over time. Now, 8 months later having to take him to a dentist to find out his tongue tie is a Class 4 and that s why he s had so many issues eating and not gaining the weight he should. Today I just had to take him to have his tongue and lip tie fixed so my baby can eat and not have a speech impediment . Is it your goal and mission to fail and neglect children being a children s hospital?? I want you out of my sons life but I keep continuing to find issues that you guys should have corrected when we were patients but now my child has to go through so much even at 8 months old because it seems like you just want the worst for him . You guys are the worst hospital and if I can find a lawyer to take you to court i promise I will. I m heartbroken as a mother to have put my 8 month old through so much since he s been born because you guys can t do your job

Accepted Insurance

Children’s Medical Center – Care House works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Lmaooo where to start. The nurses are really horrible. If it wasn’t for my son’s actual dr and his speech therapies I’d be gone.

Dr. required an overnight stay for a medical procedure. The billing department billed us incorrectly and wouldn't change the coding for insurance. We called several times and were told a supervisor has to approve the change and that we would receive a call back within a week. Never received a call back and they turned our account over to collections. Terrible customer service.

Office is very run-down. Pediatrician was kind, first and 2nd month visits went fine. 4 month visit we got a steaming garbage pile for a nurse. My daughter was already crying because she didn't like to be laid on the table. I began to relay this in hopes that I could hold my baby on my lap. She cut me off saying, "Well, she's not gonna like these shots either." My daughter screamed and cried louder than prior visits. I told my husband I don't care what we have to do, I refuse to take her back to Dayton Children's. We have a new pediatrician now and a fantastic nurse who is quick with shots. To the nurse who feels like she needs to be mean to literal babies - find a new profession.

Terrible. Brought my son in with a dislocated shoulder already had MRIs for confirmed labral tear after he dislocated it during a soccer game and it wouldn’t go back in. Nurses didn’t seem to care, were very inexperienced, and it took four hours of wait time just to get an x-ray. It took an additional two hours to have nurses come in and failed to put my son‘s shoulder back in place not once but twice with the first attempt taking over 30 seconds of straight pulling in straining and it wouldn’t go back in. My son was in excruciating pain the whole time, and after a disastrous second attempt. My wife came in and made them stop. They brought an experienced doctor in and had to give my son anesthesia to relocate his shoulder and the overall time for them to put it in and completely finish for us to drive home from Dayton was over six hours. If your son or daughter has an injury. Just drive the extra time to get to a different hospital. The experience was horrible. Only gave them one star because zero was not an option.

My son had to have a muccocele removed off his tongue at Dayton children’s main campus. I was exceptionally pleased with the caring and compassionate nurses, the amazing anesthesiologist Michael Adams, and the wonderful otolaryngologist doctor Chantal Barbot. Everyone treated my son very well during his outpatient surgical procedure and I can’t thank you all enough for all you have done. Kudos to you all, you are all very much appreciated in my book. Everything was explained thoroughly from beginning to end. I’m so glad we chose doctor Chantal Barbot along with Dayton children’s hospital to have this procedure done! 🏥

My son has some serious issues, and this place(especially 4th floor behavior) takes them as seriously as we do. Jacob loves them all. We love them too.
