Richmond is a very strict recovery program, they won't baby you so if you can't take a stringent recovery program go to a catering facility. I was there in the '80s and finished the program, it did me good, I have fell back a few times but with the tools they gave me I was able to get back on track and have been sober for 18 years. If you choose this program finish it and walk out a better person, remember it's tough but it will build character and you will be stronger for it. Good Luck, Roland

I tried to stop using with suboxyn a few times, in and out of jail and rehabs I would think I had it under control every time I got out of rehab, that I finally understood it and I could do it this time for my kids and family. But I wouldn’t last long at all. People, places and things sounded so easy to understand and you really don’t imagine the impact of just those things are in your recovery. I didn’t last long and was right back in jail/prison/ or rehab! I didn’t have any idea just how bad I really was. And 20 years flew by like nothing. Finally I knew I had to do it for myself! And it took a few times back and forth, putting my loved ones through hell w me. Today I can say that I have stopped counting how long I have been clean from herion and have absolutely zero desire ever for it. I have lost so many family members and friends to heroin and prison, institutions. I finally just didn’t have any desire for it after so long of chasing it and letting everyone down, making excuses, overdoing daily. Doing things that I never thought I would degrade myself to do for anything in life. I was a very judgmental person to anyone who did drugs for so many years. I took the wrong path and destroyed so many years that can never be taken back and loosing everyone I loved. I honestly have no idea how I am still breathing, GOD is the only thing that makes sense, I’m definitely here for a reason, I try every single day to be better than I was yesterday and continue my sobriety. So no matter how bad things get. Only you can change it. And yes , you definitely can.

I first went to Selah in January of 2023 and then had to return for extra support this past June. In the 2.5 years between my two stays, I saw a lot of changes and improvements made. My first stay was great, but this second time was even better. The clinical team truly cares about me as a person and were always listening to my needs and striving to meet them. The after-care coordinator, Christi, works so hard to make sure clients are set up for success post leaving Selah House. Hello! I decided to come to Selah House after struggling with my ED for several years. My rock bottom was ER trip after a night out drinking. I was in denial about my ED. I came to Selah in denial about even having one. Selah did save me though; they made me realize how much I was hurting but what I could do to help myself. I got to choose my recovery. I had the choice to get better or to sit in my own misery. I loved that I was given the choice. I really felt like I was a member of my own team, that I got a say in what happened to ME. I can say now that I have made recovery driven choices. As I leave, I’m scared, but I’ve also been given the resources to continue to heal. This wasn’t a fix-all, but a perfect way to start the journey that is recovery from ED.

Eastway Corporation is a behavioral health and addiction treatment center in Dayton, Ohio. They operate about 24 behavioral health facilities across the state and help individuals address challenges like mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. The latter is when you’re simultaneously dealing with addiction and mental health issue
If it wasn't for Eastway I would have been dead by now. I've been with them for 15 years. But their housing program is okay. I also like the fact that there's a pharmacy right there inside. I've been using Eastway's Pharmacy since they opened up. I definitely like that your meds can be delivered to your front door IF you have No Way of getting to the Eastway building. IF you have (a) prescription(s) that needs to be filled the same day you go in for an appointment with a Doctor they will have it filled by the time you're done with your appointment. I will Always recommend Eastway to someone that needs mental health and proper medications. I like the staff that works there. Everyone is very nice to you and they usually have a smile on their face. I try to get a laugh out of one of them and it usually works. As long as Eastway has their doors open I will continue to go there. The staff is wonderful. I'm glad that I have a case manager for longer than two years. My case manager now (and has been for 4 solid years.) She goes above and beyond the call of duty. (She's been there for about 20 years). She helps me go grocery shopping and soon to do laundry up the road. I Pray everyday that I don't lose the case manager I have now. I have pleasant feelings for Eastway. IF you get the chance to be a client at Eastway, remember that getting the right medication can take some time. It took them close to 13 years of trying different medications to get the right regimen that works for ME. I also like the fact that there's a Bus Stop right out front of the building. 😎🤗🤓💜✌️🤙👌💟☮️. I hope you can enjoy the care and staff there. Everyone there is a happy, pleasant person. I LOVE EASTWAY!!! The ONLY way I'll go somewhere else is IF they close their doors. My mother told me about Eastway and when I started the "Journey" there I had a sense of good things to come my way. The rollercoaster of emotions that I was going through finally ended when I became a client at Eastway. At first I didn't like it there because of TWO case managers they Always had a funky attitude towards me and dismissed the fact that I'm there for Mental Health. I'm getting treatment for my Bipolar Disorder. Looking back I'm Glad that I got help from them. IF I didn't make the first appointment to go there, I HIGHLY DOUBT I would be alive right now making this post. Eastway is the one facility that I recommend EVERYONE to go to for Mental Health. In my opinion and experience, Eastway is the place to go get help. Thank you Eastway for your help and this "journey" I'm on with y'all.
