Richmond is a very strict recovery program, they won't baby you so if you can't take a stringent recovery program go to a catering facility. I was there in the '80s and finished the program, it did me good, I have fell back a few times but with the tools they gave me I was able to get back on track and have been sober for 18 years. If you choose this program finish it and walk out a better person, remember it's tough but it will build character and you will be stronger for it. Good Luck, Roland

⭐ Google Review — Option 2 I work 10‑hour shifts at a steel plant and physically cannot make this shelter’s 4:30–5:00 PM dinner window. I arrived at 5:15 after picking up my birth certificate so I could get my license and start a second job. Staff refused to feed me even though other residents said they were given extras. When I said “God bless you,” the staff member got angry, dragged me into another room, accused me of being involved with someone kicked out for marijuana (false), and told me that if my name is “brought up again,” he’s been told to kick me out. Not if I break a rule — if my name is mentioned. I want to be clear: I am grateful for this shelter. They took me in when I otherwise would have been on the streets, and most of the staff treated me well. This review is not a reflection of the entire facility, but of select individuals who weaponize their authority when it suits them. Here’s the part that shows God’s timing: the church member I had spoken with knocked on the shelter door right after this conversation and connected me with a private landlord and friend. He even covered half of the payment for the apartment I’m now renting. The shelter tried to make me feel disposable. God opened a door they couldn’t close. Do not doubt His timing.

They give help in just about anything to health care, clothing, hygiene, work if your looking for a job and more. Just stay on their good side lol They helped me in the lowest point in my life. They gave me the tools needed to have positive coping skills and learn how to respond to my problems instead of reacting. I'm sure Tia will be too I have only had her for 2 weeks. I really love Susie our Nurse Practitioner that we see every month!! She really listens to me and goes out of her way to really help others. Brightview has been my recovery home for six years now, and out of all the places I have received treatment, its by far the best. I started going there because someone told me they dont care about THC. This is true, they're chill about it. But I stayed because a) it actually felt like a doctor's office, instead of an apartment or house that had been rented to use as a treatment facility, and b) i felt and still feel like im actually cared for; they aren't just after my insurance claim. Last year I would have rated five stars. However, a change made last year has really stuck in my craw and upset me, and despite the feedback they've received from me and countless others, it's yet to be rolled back. Used to be, if you needed to speak to someone to find out what time your appt is, or get a message to your care team, you could call 24/7. NOW, only new patients can call and receive assistance after business hours. They contract their calls out to people who work from home, and they no longer have access to existing patient records after business hours. Maybe it's the industry standard, I wouldn't know. But it was and is still very disheartening, for people who work odd hours or sleep a lot due to depression 🙋‍♀️and cant always call during business hours. That's the ONLY reason I'm not giving 5*. I'm a patient at the Centerville office, and my girls there are truly like family to me. I've had several different doctors but its nothing like other facilities, with their revolving door of staff coming in and barely getting settled before theyre gone again. I got placed with a counselor who's been with brightview over 10 years, because i was tired of telling my life story over and over. I realized I had gotten everything I could out of a group setting, and they put me in a ghost group so I don't have to attend one anymore. Susan, my provider, is literally like the mom I always dreamed of having. She's so good at her job and she makes sure you know how much she cares for you. One last thing, since i know who is most likely reading these reviews. if youre on suboxone and tired of being ruled by a daily dose, consider the sublocade shot. They got me on it hwre. I was terrified because the withdrawal has always been so bad. With sublocade there was ZERO withdrawal as I made the switch, and ZERO withdrawal when tapering off. It takes about three months, and you're just OFF of it, without having to deal with any of the BS of withdrawal symptoms.

This is the best clinic I have been to so far and I've been in treatment for over 10 years. Highly recommend this place to anyone look to start.The dr and counselors are very nice and willing to help you with your problems and really care. I switched because they offer split dosing because I was getting sick later in the day and all the other place didn't want to help but it is really going to be a big improvement for me.

Entering rehab for the first time at 67 years of age was terrifying, simply because I didn't know what to expect. My journey with an eating disorder began when I was just 13 years old, and looking back, it has been a long road. After a health scare in September of 2024 served as a wake-up call, I reached out to a family member who had been down the same path. She recommended a counselor who had also struggled with an eating disorder as a teenager. Initially, I didn't think I had a problem. I was perfectly content with my body size, even though everyone around me kept saying how thin I was. I eventually found a dietitian, and though she and my counselor worked tirelessly with me, I wasn't ready to listen or follow their guidance. Finally, in April of 2025, I realized I needed inpatient help. Because I wanted a faith-based facility, they recommended Selah House. I flew to Anderson, Indiana, incredibly anxious about the unknown. However, the moment I stepped inside the house, I felt at home. The staff welcomed me with open arms and truly understood my journey. The facility itself is beautiful. I especially loved Marcy (who did equine therapy), Jordan (my dietitian), and Amy (my therapist). While there are too many incredible staff members to name, they all made an impact. I even grew to love art therapy! The sessions were incredibly helpful, and I loved that we went on outings and attended church on Sundays. I cannot say enough good things about Selah House, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking healing from an eating disorder.

I honestly can’t speak enough in regards to the positivity that I personally received during my tenure in this facility. The staff there was second to none in terms of optimism, great attitude and a cheery nature of sorts, but at the same time, very much realistic. From the behavioral therapists, to the nurses station, right down to lunch ladies, an absolutely amazing group of individuals who walk with one while on their journey. Every individual that I encountered along the way was truly there with the purpose of guiding us on our path, and seeing us through just the same. Thank you so very much to all of the staff!!

There are moments when being both a family member and a professional in the field of substance use disorder makes you see things from a perspective that is difficult to put into words. This is one of those moments. My sister completes treatment tomorrow, and I cannot let this milestone pass without expressing my deepest gratitude to the entire team who cared for her. After more than 30 years of substance use and countless experiences with treatment, this is the first time my sister has successfully completed a treatment program. That alone makes tomorrow incredibly meaningful for our family. But what means even more to me is knowing that she was not simply treated for her substance use disorder she was cared for as a whole person. She entered treatment with serious and critical health concerns that required attention, advocacy, and compassionate care. Those concerns were recognized and addressed. The staff went above and beyond to make sure her health and safety were not overlooked, and that her needs were treated with the dignity and seriousness they deserved. As someone who works professionally in the SUD field, I know how much goes into helping someone reach this point. I understand the importance of consistency, compassion, boundaries, clinical skill, medical attention, and perhaps most importantly having people who continue to see the person underneath the addiction. But as her sister, I experienced something even more personal... relief and hope. For the first time in a very long time, my family could breathe a little easier knowing she was somewhere safe, seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. Recovery is not easy. Thirty years of addiction does not disappear in a month. Completing treatment does not mean the journey is over. But completing treatment after decades of struggle is a tremendous accomplishment, and she should be incredibly proud of herself. The encouragement and coordinated care for her discharge planning was imperative. This was executed with precision as well. To every person who played a part in her care, thank you. Thank you for showing up for her. Thank you for taking her health concerns seriously. Thank you for seeing beyond her history and recognizing the person she still was underneath all of it. Thank you for giving her the opportunity to experience treatment differently this time. As a professional, I appreciate the quality of care you provided. As her sister, I will never forget it.
