Diverse Recovery Groups and Activities

Coulee Recovery Services believes that consistent interaction and support is an important part of achieving long term sobriety. The facility offers a diverse range of groups and activities clients can participate in. Some options you can consider are the Outdoor Recovery Project, Recovery Education Discussion, and Meeting and a Meal.

The Outdoor Recovery Project provides clients the opportunity to enjoy outdoor recreational activities with peers and their family. Participating in these activities can expose you to a new healthy coping skill and build your self esteem through challenging yourself to be in a new environment.

Mental Health Services For Crisis Responders

The trauma of working in the military or as a first responder can sometimes cause people to resort to substances as a coping mechanism. The Tactical Recovery & Wellness program offers you a non judgmental environment where you can be treated by mental health professionals with a military and law enforcement background.

You’ll also be able to participate in wellness group discussions where you can receive from peers and monthly recreational wellness activities to focus on healing. Coulee Recovery Center is highly rated receiving 4.5 stars out of five. The facility is located on Ferry Street, which is conveniently close to downtown La Crosse where you can enjoy a nice walk at Riverside Park.

It's a great place to spend time with the coffee shop it's easy to relax enjoying the accomplishment of your success in personal sobriety. The resources are available for many situations but a little difficult to follow through with due to appointment scheduling availability and times. What matters is you start and this is a great place to begin

Don't recommend for AODA assessment, I took mine back in September due to court order for a DUI and I've been trying to obtain the records since then and it's been almost 4 months. Then to find out I most likely need to have the assessment done again by another agency is mind blowing. Definitely don't recommend.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I just have a dream and idea: Host a Recovery March Starting on both the Spring Equinox and the Autumnal Equinox, each year. Family members could collect pledges for the Recovery March; to help provide transitional housing and security deposits and three months rent for the participants of the Recovery March. Healthy family members could march alongside their fallen family members down HWY 35 towards New Orleans. Since, there is safety in numbers, and perhaps a Church sponsor could find enough Churches willing to allow sleeping bags and a wayside stop at their Churches along the route. So those who are homeless in Houska Park, can March for Recovery down scenic Hwy 35, as a safety group, and have Bible Studies and prayers at night. When the group rests at a local church. Escaping addiction, for so many young individuals is the start to a new future. The Recovery March would help individuals escape the enslavement of addiction and the individuals would recover as a group rather than having to go it alone. Let's build the underground railroad route for Recovery March. Upon completion, each individual would receive security deposit and three months rent on a 6 month lease as they transition back to being focused on work, home and family life. If you were to walk between 10-18 miles a day, resting on the weekend you would reach Memphis Tennessee in about 10 to 12 weeks. New Orleans is another 6 weeks.. Amen
