This clinic has saved my life, I have a very bad substance abuse disorder this is 4th clinic I've been on Suboxone and methadone well I've come to realize that I am lifer I am sick of relapsing so I'll be on methadone rest of my life.
Clinic is great most all counselors are very sincere and nurses are great follow the rules and eventually u do feel like it living a normal free life from the chase of dope or pills whatever ur demon is..

I was there during Covid. Amazing staff, treated with the upmost care. Tommy T is an amazing man who cares deeply for everyone and their story. In January I did the short term program and I've been to so many other treatments this was by far the best one. The gym is close to the best part but also it's some what about god and spirituality the long term is really about and I feel what's been missing is a connection with the lord. Highly highly recommend this place. It works if you work it!

Dr. Bolden was amazing. She listened, and discovered what was wrong with me after being told it was other things that were not a big deal. Even when going to the ER after my visit with her, and there they said they thought it was something minimal, I went to a specialist and it turned out that Dr. Bolden was right in the beginning. She truly listens and tries to get to the bottom of things.

Most of the people whom I have worked with at woodlake location has been quite stellar in their professionalism, and candor with me. I appreciate their intelligence and commitment to the healing process as well as attention to HIPPA. I strongly trust my counselor, and case manager, as well as many other advocates in various other programs here.
They offer skills building groups, peer services, a tobacco quiting clinic, and a pharmacy of their own!
The IRTS program is decent. The staff are all mostly wonderful people. Some staff misreport, and use cameras to frame accusations that have effected how I receive care. I left the program, because of Leadership here using dark psychology on me, having zero accountability, and very low integrity. Other than that it is a stellar program with a lit of helps for people seeking healing and life transformation.

The staff here is rude, and has no empathy, or professionalism. You're a paycheck to them.
Have a plan to get off the methadone before you start, else they will keep you on it forever. Inform yourself about detox from methadone cuz they will tell you it will take months or years to taper off. They don't have balanced information about the benefits AND Potential risks of methadone but rather propaganda only stating the benefits and how it saves lives.
It sucks this is the only center in the area, Mathers in Elgin is light years better.
Do your own research. It's not hard to find facts online about the dangers of methadone and the dangers of long term use.
Just understand that this is a business and you are an income to the facility. Methadone can help but it will ruin your life and relationships if you become a lifelong methadone addict. The employees are trained very well to keep you just as informed as you need to be to be addicted to methadone but not informed enough to use it to get free from addiction.
Also know, getting off of it will be painful. But worth it. It's like the worst flu you ever had. Stay hydrated, try to eat good food and get lots of rest. They say the detox isn't what will kill you, it's the dehydration.

After reading these reviews I want to remind everyone this is not an inpatient. This is a stepping stone after treatment. I have a family member there and its been great for her. No place can make someone sober unless they want it.

This place is a fantastic transition from inpatient to IOP. The PRS's are super helpful and a huge benefit in your journey through recovery. The owners are wonderful people, engaging and really care about the clients as well. I couldn't say enough good things about my time here. Thanks for all you guys did!

If you are looking for help for yourself or a loved one, the staff at Common Ground are phenomenal. They will provide you with all of the tools you will need to live a clean and sober life. They are tough when they need to be but also very accepting of wherever you are on your own journey to a healthy life. Common Ground provides you with a safe and caring environment while teaching you the life skills needed for successful life changes. Highly recommend!

I'm oddly confused about all the negative reviews. One of the best experiences I've ever had and has changed my entire outlook on life. I think about this place almost everyday since I've left, and I sincerely miss all of the staff. Every single one of them had a positive impact on me that I won't ever forget. I'm even headed back to school to get my bachelor's degree in a similar field, with the credit to my time spent here. I only ever heard positive things while I was there and a lot of people coming in from the outside to volunteer their time for meetings .. the majority of them give a lot of credit to Horizons for helping them as well. My Fiance is going to be there today, and I was really worried about it. I am in treatment as well in another City. We are both doing this on our own will, but after reading these reviews I fell better. I truly believe that treatment is exactly what you put into it and how much you want to get out of it. So far the staff over the phone has been very helpful to him.
