I would like to Thank All concerned with my recent care as it was exceptional...I especially would like to Thank Diane Torres and Denice for the extra mile they went to get me through the ordeal my sickness brought upon me.I was certainly willing to somehow give them an added appreciation for them. Also , a special Thank You to Brittany, she was very instrumental in my getting back to what some would consider normal..hahahaThis hospital treats people very well,of course fixing so much food at a time leaves room for improvement but the care was exceptional....I would highly recommend care at Unity Point/ St.Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids..!

From my anesthesiologist, Dr. Becker(? I believe), to pre-op nurses (I'm sorry, I don't have their names ), to the chaplain who helped with my medical POA and advanced directive (Brent? I'm so sorry, it's fuzzy, now, I'm only an hour post-op... And I'm terrible with names) to post-op nurses, Natalie and Audrey S. (boyfriend remembered their names for me)... The whole team was amazing. (don't mind me as I write this so close to getting home) I loved my ENT, Dr. Geissler-Spellman. I was made comfortable the entire way and they made sure I had all the information I needed both before and after. They made sure I felt comfortable going under and ensured I was comfortable after surgery, too. I am amazed at how quickly everything went and how efficient they all are.Thank you all for your outstanding care, everyone! (pre-op photo for tax)

| If you’re struggling with drug or alcohol addiction you can start your recovery with the ASAC - Area Substance Abuse Council. Their main office is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This office can connect you with any of their more than a dozen rehabs in the area. If you’re struggling with drug or alcohol addiction you can start your recovery with the ASA | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This place is what you make it. You can't blame the facility for those who aren't ready to get help and find loopholes by bringing in contraband. Typically, those of whom not coming in with the right mindset are those who are gonna leave bad reviews. But I promise. This is the best program in the state of Iowa. Of course there are things that could use a little more attention in order to make people's stay, less stressful. Un-certified staff can sometimes make bad decisions or push people away..but the clinical team is great. I highly suggest anyone to disregard any negative feedback given on these reviews because there was some type of insubordination on their behalf that as a result..left them with an unsatisfactory comment. For anyone reading this. Don't waste your time coming here if you aren't ready to change. If you're just coming bc you're being forced to. You'll interfere with those who are actually trying to change and not only that..you'll be wasting resources someone really needs and you'll leave a had review because you're all butt hurt about your behavior not being tolerated. Believe me, they give you A TON of leeway...but they can tell when they're getting used. Great facility, saved my life, all the counselors are good people. And remember. It is what you make it.

Ok 1st off I wish I could give them more stars. Its an amazing environment where you are surrounded with people who actually care. You go there at the worst moments of life and the counselors and staff dont judge you ever! The food, the atmosphere, the knowledge you get! 10/10 Kelly, Lindsey, Steve, Kalighe Top teir baby! Anyone who ranks a low star probably got kicked out for doing something they weren't suppose to be doing, aren't ready for the help they have to give and want to be Iowa's undesirables forever. (Sorry thats on you)I will 100% forever sing their praises and recommend people who need help to ASAC.

The care that I received was spectacular. Yet, being in the ER overnight before a bed was available was interesting. To hear the staff at the counters and the Chief of Police comments about DEI was mind blowing, upsetting, and sad. The comments and how they felt were mean, ignorant, and callus about it made my time in the ER extremely uncomfortable while I was being treated by the kind nurses. I asked questions. The response I received was nothing less than racist. I was glad that I was treated by nurses that were professional, kind, and concerned about the care of a Veteran, but to the others, a disgrace. To compare DEI to Affirmative action was truly mind blowing and ignorance. That's just part of the conversations I've heard. SMH

I have been to the VA in St Louis New Orleans all over the country of many different VA's. Iowa City and Fayetteville Arkansas are probably two of the best. I only had one bad experience at Iowa City when an asshole doctor didn't want to do his job in the ER. But everyone else there is awesome. I've received more help from Iowa City than any other hospital or VA care facility in the country. I don't live in the area anymore but I still travel over 100 mi to use Iowa city's VA. To me it's the best.

Regarding the walk-in intake, So far I have done intake and the process for that was long. They started at 10am but I had already been there since 8:12am waiting. I was the last person they accepted that day totalling 4 of us. I had to wait until each person in front of me was done, about 45 mins to 1 hour each. I was there a total of about 5 hours beginning to end. At the end you schedule a follow-up and it was 3 weeks out. Once you check in theoretically you could leave but about 2 hours in the called me in to verify my financial info. So I just stayed.

Cedar Rapids is the 211th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $55426. This is lower than the average cost of $60174 for addiction treatment in Iowa and comparable to the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Cedar Rapids vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Cedar Rapids. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Cedar Rapids that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Cedar Rapids.
Wellmark is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Cedar Rapids, with 4 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. UnitedHealth Group is the 2nd most popular with 4 treatment centers accepting it followed by HealthPartners in 3rd accepted by 3 drug rehabs.
Cedar Rapids has the 86th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Linn county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Cedar Rapids or Linn county as a whole.
In 2023, Cedar Rapids had the 118th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 607 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Cedar Rapids. All values are per 100,000 population.
