From the helicopter transport team who brought him to St. Luke’s Hospital, to the physicians, nurses, and social workers in the ICU, every person we encountered treated him with dignity, respect, and genuine kindness. We are especially grateful for the way you kept us informed, answered every question with patience, and even took moments to speak to our dad as if he could hear you. That compassion meant more than words can fully express.
We are also deeply thankful to the Iowa Donor Network team for their guidance, support, and care throughout the donation process. Knowing that he was able to give to others has brought our family a measure of comfort in an incredibly difficult time.
The compassion and humanity shown by everyone involved will stay with us always. Thank you for taking such good care of him and for treating our family with such respect and kindness.
We can not say more about your care,

Barring medical needs that sent me to St, Luke’s, ALL staff were pleasant and professional. From top to bottom the care was phenomenal to me as an individual, not by my patient number. Beyond hospitable by providing anything I could possibly need and they even gave my husband an evening snack bag so that he wouldn’t have to leave my side. I appreciated the communication between the rounding physician and surgical doctors and myself so I maintained autonomy in my own healthcare decisions. 10/10 stars!

I had a very positive experience at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The doctors, nurses, and entire medical staff were incredibly professional, compassionate, and attentive throughout the treatment process. They took the time to clearly explain every step, answered all questions patiently, and made sure we felt comfortable and well cared for.
The level of care and dedication shown by the medical team was truly impressive. From the moment we arrived until the treatment was completed, everything was handled efficiently and with great kindness. The hospital facilities were clean, well organized, and the staff made sure the patient’s comfort and safety were always a priority.
I’m very grateful for the excellent care we received. Thank you to the entire team at St. Luke’s for their commitment to patient care and for making a difficult situation much easier.

I came to ASAC after 15 years of serious substance abuse and it was the first treatment center I had ever been to. I am coming up on my one year anniversary being completely sober. I am happy, healthy, and in control of my life in a way others have prayed I would be for a long time. The staff at ASAC helped me in so many ways I could not list them all, they were nothing short of amazing to my family. These people at ASAC are the most knowledgeable, caring, capable bunch of professionals who have assembled a team that gets results. It is a special place and I want to thank asac from myself and on behalf of my family.

I’ve unfortunately been in recovery several times at ASAC. They really do care. However, they can’t do the work for you. I’ve always been given good advice on how to move forward after treatment, but get sober and think we’re Superman. I learned a lot. Now, how bad do we want sobriety?

From the satellite ER to the main hospital, it was amazingly good care. I stayed on the neurology floor for 2 nights. The nurses, patient techs,, rad techs, docs and the medical director were awesome as were the vestibular therapists that visited. I am so grateful for the Hospice unit at St. Luke’s Unity Point, Cedar Rapids. The staff who cared for our sister in her last days were compassionate, professional, and caring. The unit was beautiful with many thoughtful touches—a bed wide enough for the patient and a loved one, large windows to allow sunlight and views, a generous room with ample seating for family, a large family room when we needed to step away.
As a retired nurse, I saw their professionalism and dedication to excellence in every interaction. Their commitment to patient advocacy was built into every interaction.
Thank you for supporting our family and our sister in this difficult time.

Cfr has literally changed my life in such positive ways I never thought were possible. I was an extremely lost and addicted individual. After 21 of my 34 years of life being helplessly addicted to a number of drugs and gambling my life away, I received a call. The lady on the phone said her name was Shea and asked if I was ready to get help. I don't think I went after that phone call but it got me thinking about my life and the second time she called I knew I needed to at least try, as I was literally on the brink of death. So I did I called my sister and had her take me to guide links.
Cfr saved my life that day and started me on my journey to living a sober life filled with happiness and endless support. My family has began trusting and supporting me as well and I know if it had not been for cfr I would not be where I am at today.
There were a number of individuals at CFR crucial in my successful recovery. Starting with all of the residential techs guiding me through my initial withdraws and struggle I endured while in residential. Successfully graduating me from that program.
Knowing I had a battle ahead of me cfr enrolled me into there IOP program where I'd like to give a shout out to the staff of all cfr. Nancy, Ronda, Hailey, Weller, and Lori you all have changed my life and I am forever grateful... I am 90 days sober today and happier than I ever thought possible.
I attend church every Sunday and also continue my recovery in eop through cfr. I have found happiness and sobriety thanks to all of you at CFR and only hope anyone out there struggling with addiction can also find you guys and receive this gift of a good life as I have.
I love you all and if there is anyway I could help in any way it would be my pleasure.
God bless you all, and thank you for giving me the tools I needed to succeed in my journey to sobriety.

Zach Nunn (My Congressional District 3 Representative) and our Iowa Legislature has placed emphasis on strengthening Cancer Research through our Iowa Health Care Systems with University of Iowa (A Premier Health Center of the Midwest) leading the way in research, coordination and top notch quality health care that continues to improve the livelihood of most Iowans. My Comprehensive Health Care Cancer Team (according to my experience) — from the Iowa Clinic, Unity Point, and Mercy-One consisting of Dr Kippes, Dr Tanner, Dr Patel, Dr Geetha, Dr Mery, Dr Khoo, Dr Le, Dr Tannebaum and the specialists from the University Iowa Medical Center — Dr Reith, Dr Hsieh, Dr De Andrade and other supporting professional staffers each have rendered top-notch coordinated care from critical surgery, infusions, evaluations, research, to appointments, to charting, to complex monitoring, and to skillful coordination of chronic conditions that has improved the quality of my life. Cedar Rapids is the 211th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $55426. This is lower than the average cost of $60174 for addiction treatment in Iowa and comparable to the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Cedar Rapids vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Cedar Rapids. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Cedar Rapids that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Cedar Rapids.
Wellmark is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Cedar Rapids, with 4 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. UnitedHealth Group is the 2nd most popular with 4 treatment centers accepting it followed by HealthPartners in 3rd accepted by 3 drug rehabs.
Cedar Rapids has the 86th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Linn county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Cedar Rapids or Linn county as a whole.
In 2023, Cedar Rapids had the 118th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 607 reported drug-related incidents that year.
