Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment IAM helped me find my strength again. I came in lost, not knowing where to start, and left feeling clear and steady. The care was real, the people were kind, and the change felt deep. I’ll always be grateful for what they did for me.

I came in feeling totally lost, like nothing could pull me out of the mess I was in. But from day one, these folks really made me feel seen. They weren’t just checking boxes—they were listening, guiding, and helping me take real steps forward. What stood out most was how they didn’t try to rush the process. I never felt pressured, just supported. They gave me the space and tools to start figuring things out, one day at a time.

If you’re lookin’ for a real fresh start, IAM is where it’s at 🙌. These folks believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. 💪 Every day felt like a step toward something better — not just clean, but truly alive. They lit that spark in me again 🔥 and I’m holdin’ onto it tight.

To say that I am pleased would hardly be enough to describe the care and compassion shown by the nurses during my sister's time at the hospital. Taylor on the OB unit was absolutely amazing. I'm oddly confused about all the negative reviews. One of the best experiences I've ever had and has changed my entire outlook on life. I think about this place almost everyday since I've left, and I sincerely miss all of the staff. Every single one of them had a positive impact on me that I won't ever forget. I'm even headed back to school to get my bachelor's degree in a similar field, with the credit to my time spent here. I only ever heard positive things while I was there and a lot of people coming in from the outside to volunteer their time for meetings .. the majority of them give a lot of credit to Horizons for helping them as well. Thanks for everything!! ♥️

On behalf of our family, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the care and compassion shown to Gary Foster during his final days. From the helicopter transport team who brought him to St. Luke’s Hospital, to the physicians, nurses, and social workers in the ICU, every person we encountered treated him with dignity, respect, and genuine kindness. We are especially grateful for the way you kept us informed, answered every question with patience, and even took moments to speak to our dad as if he could hear you. That compassion meant more than words can fully express. We are also deeply thankful to the Iowa Donor Network team for their guidance, support, and care throughout the donation process. Knowing that he was able to give to others has brought our family a measure of comfort in an incredibly difficult time. The compassion and humanity shown by everyone involved will stay with us always. Thank you for taking such good care of him and for treating our family with such respect and kindness. If you’re struggling with drug or alcohol addiction you can start your recovery with the ASAC - Area Substance Abuse Council. Their main office is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This office can connect you with any of their more than a dozen rehabs in the area. No matter who you are or what your needs are, they probably have a program for you with ASAC.
I came to ASAC after 15 years of serious substance abuse and it was the first treatment center I had ever been to. I am coming up on my one year anniversary being completely sober. I am happy, healthy, and in control of my life in a way others have prayed I would be for a long time. The staff at ASAC helped me in so many ways I could not list them all, they were nothing short of amazing to my family. These people at ASAC are the most knowledgeable, caring, capable bunch of professionals who have assembled a team that gets results. It is a special place and I want to thank asac from myself and on behalf of my family.

I’ve unfortunately been in recovery several times at ASAC. They really do care. However, they can’t do the work for you. I’ve always been given good advice on how to move forward after treatment, but get sober and think we’re Superman. I learned a lot. Now, how bad do we want sobriety?

Asac has changed my life not once but twice! I had 7 years of real recovery when I left in 2018. When I relapsed I went back and they dug deeper into my trauma with me to find the root cause of my addiction and are helping me thoroughly examine every aspect to prevent another relapse. I am grateful everyday for my new journey into recovery. They took a chance on me when others gave up hope. 💫✨
