I go to therapy and my medication is regulated through Unitypoint Health Abbe Center Independence and they are always very open about your plan of treatment and they truly do care and want to help

I was seen at St Luke’s Hospital by attending physician Dr David Dierks for nausea related to my right knee replacement. I found Dr Dierks to be very professional and compassionate and I felt very well taken care of by all the staff there, including Brenda who was the admissions nurse and Lance who also saved me yet another visit the following day. It’s so comforting to know that when it is needed to go to the ED, that St Luke’s is there to help and make you feel comfortable and confident that you will be well taken care of.

I had to go to St. Luke's Hospital. They are the best Hospital I recommend because the nurses was good and so was the doctors and all the staff. I appreciate what you everyone did for me
If it wasn't for this clinic and all the wonderful people there, my life would be in shambles. If it wasn't for Medicaid, I could never afford daily doses and if it wasn't for The Way Shuttle picking me up six days a week for almost 3 years straight, I wouldn't be where I am today. It's been a rough journey but well worth the persistence I put in to get this far. One Day At A Time!

Great people, I couldn't imagine there is a more understanding and accommodating Clinic out there, if your struggling with Opiate addiction and scared or worried it won't work, it does but you have to do your part too, this is the clinic to go to they will have you set up and dosed on your intake day so really what do you have to lose. The people here will take great care of you My counceler Brett is the easiest person to talk for me I imagine the others are great as well. All the nurces are Good people very upbeat and positive. The Receptionist is always nice and has been able to help me with any problems I may have. Just a great place to get and stay clean.

I’m so thankful for ASAC. After wasting 5 weeks at St. Luke’s Chemical Dependency Center (full review on that experience separately), I came here feeling frustrated and discouraged. I explained everything I had gone through, and ASAC immediately made me feel heard and understood.
They were far more knowledgeable about my case and didn’t judge me when my marijuana levels were slightly elevated—even after over a month of quitting—because they actually understood that’s normal. The counselors here are compassionate, supportive, and truly know what they’re doing.
If you’re looking for real help, don’t waste your time and money at St. Luke’s. Go to ASAC instead. They’ll actually help you, rather than tear you down!

This place is what you make it. You can't blame the facility for those who aren't ready to get help and find loopholes by bringing in contraband. Typically, those of whom not coming in with the right mindset are those who are gonna leave bad reviews. But I promise. This is the best program in the state of Iowa. Of course there are things that could use a little more attention in order to make people's stay, less stressful. Un-certified staff can sometimes make bad decisions or push people away..but the clinical team is great. I highly suggest anyone to disregard any negative feedback given on these reviews because there was some type of insubordination on their behalf that as a result..left them with an unsatisfactory comment. For anyone reading this. Don't waste your time coming here if you aren't ready to change. If you're just coming bc you're being forced to. You'll interfere with those who are actually trying to change and not only that..you'll be wasting resources someone really needs and you'll leave a had review because you're all butt hurt about your behavior not being tolerated. Believe me, they give you A TON of leeway...but they can tell when they're getting used. Great facility, saved my life, all the counselors are good people. And remember. It is what you make it.
I was so blessed and beyond grateful to be able to go through The Heart of Iowa! Everyone from the patient support staff, to the counselors, the director, child care providers, and all the amazing people who came and taught groups helped me tremendously! What a gift this program is! I will be forever thankful for everything. I got myself back and my children! RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE!!!

I went through the program in 2001, I loved that I was able to have my son with me. I got the skills I needed and still apply in my daily life to overcome so many things and I am greatful for all of the help I got when I was there.

Had same day surgery for a total knee. Every single person I interacted with was professional, kind, and caring. The CRNA, Derick, was phenomenal. I had an entire team working with me and the experience was exceptional. Surgery went flawless and care was excellent. Highly recommended.

I owe a great portion of my life to this place. If you exhaust all levels of yourself to the program....your life will change!!! My counselor was an ultimate savior. I have the utmost respect and love for those 2 ladies and all the staff that provided me with the necessary tools and feedback. You guys helped me save my life ..You know who you are!!!
One time they were so nice because the office was going to close down due to terrible weather but somehow they manage to reorganize the appointments of that day beforehand! A helpful and resourceful facility

My experience with ABBE has been very positive. Whether I'm dealing with the receptionists, the therapists, the nurses, or my medication manager, I've always been treated with kindness & professionalism. Mental health issues can be difficult to navigate, but the people at ABBE have made things much easier for me.

I started here when i was in 9th grade during civic and ive had nothing but good experiences here everyone is so nice and caring i know that doesn't seem to be most peoples experiences but I've had great experiences and they've all helped me so much

Professional, friendly, helpful, dedicated people work here. All veterans need to register today for possible future problems. Iowa VA Hospital in Iowa City was recently ranked #1 in the nation. Dubuque is likely the number one clinic in Iowa. Both have made my service connected physical and mental injuries and problems better allowing me to function at high levels. They provide the best care to the best 1% of our citizens who stepped up to keep our constitution strong and our nation free. Thanks

This program enabled me to focus on the most important things in my life. I have made many life changes that have made me the best version of myself. I highly recommend the services offered here. The staff is excellent, professional and friendly.
My great grandma has been cared for here the last couple days!! She was in the ER then moved upstairs. Shout out to Rayna/Kylie (ER) and Bella/Rainy (upstairs). They all were amazing and my great grandma absolutely adored them!! There were two other nurses she loved but I didn’t get their names unfortunately. Keep up the amazing work ladies!!

I received the best care from jen/Jenny in triage. she took great care of me. you can tell she's very experienced and very professional and has been taking care of people for a long time. it was very busy in there today, but she proceeded with a smile and the best optimistic attitude a person can have. 10 out 10. thank you Jenny ❤️

I feel this program is very positive with a very nice, experienced staff. The members of the group are very supportive and nice people for the most part. The cost is worth it if you want to change your life and stop using drugs. It has been very positive for me. It is my second time in this program and it will only work if you want to change. Participation is key. Change for yourself not for anyone else.
Toni Bagan is the best counselor I have ever had, she listens and offers advice, and it is very clear she actually cares for the people she see’s. I highly recommend Toni if you are ready to make a positive change in your life….or even if you are just fulfilling a court order.

The Jones County Area Substance Abuse Council is very small but the impact they have is remarkable. I've been familiar with this place for almost 10 years, and they have always been there with welcoming, caring arms.
They are amazing and my counselor has been working with me for years starting back to a brand new addiction and through all my ups and downs. Gen is Amazing!!! Thank you all so much for what you guys do!!💜💜💜

I went to tanager a couple years ago and I may not have seen how much it helped me then but I realize now. I'm positive every staff member would be happy to help any kid as long as they wanted it or asked. Almost every one of the therapists do an excellent job in my opinion and they all are their cus they do genuinely care. Even if y'all don't think so. The only bad part about tanager i would have to say is the kids. Having to live in a cottage with 10 other kids going through possibly similar traumas as yours or completely different and the kids seem to just, clash. But yeah 👍🏻

I interned here when I was in undergrad at University of Iowa and Tanager is truly a well run facility. The staff is well trained and they provide structured, supportive, and comprehensive therapeutic interventions for children with myriad needs. My experience here was exceptional!
