I was transferred to Allen from Grinnell Regional hospital as they didn't have gastroenterology and I needed a procedure they could not provide at Grinnell. I was treated with kindness and respect by ALL the staff and they got me treated and sent home promptly with follow up close to home the next day. Night CNA (Terri I believe was her name) was amazing and super attentive to every need. They made sure my parents who stayed the night and drove several hours to be with me were comfortable and well cared for. Doctors and nurses were respectful and kind. I am a nurse.and know I would not have gotten this treatment in Des Moines or Iowa City. Very grateful for the care and answers I received at Allen. Keep up the great work. I am an alcoholic and my detox needs were met beyond expectations and my addiction did not cause me to have poor care that I have experienced elsewhere. I am very grateful for Allen and the care they provided me.

My Fiance is going to be there today, and I was really worried about it. I am in treatment as well in another City. We are both doing this on our own will, but after reading these reviews I fell better. I truly believe that treatment is exactly what you put into it and how much you want to get out of it. So far the staff over the phone has been very helpful to him.

I have a family member going to Horizons soon for the third time. It s always difficult supporting a loved one with addiction. Horizons isn t a fancy place, but they accept medicare and my family member has always been treated with kindness. The nurses from the ER to the Inpatient program treated my family member as a friend and went out of their way to help her and look out for her happiness. That means a lot to me. If you have a loved one going to Horizons, you can feel secure that they will be cared for, even though generally it can be an emotionally challenging experience.
