About Medical City Green Oaks Hospital – Integrated Outpatient Clinic

Medical City Green Oaks Hospital offers outpatient care for those struggling with substance abuse, opioid addiction, and dual diagnosis conditions in the Dallas, Texas, area. They help anyone 18 and older by providing medication assisted treatment (MAT) and therapy programs modeled after the philosophy of the 12-Step program. For more intensive care, clients may be referred to their inpatient clinics in order to receive drug rehab services.

The outpatient clinic at Medical City Green Oaks Hospital gives patients a chance to attend different styles of therapy to fit their needs. This can range from their intensive outpatient program (IOP) to more intensive approaches, like their partial hospitalization program (PHP). IOP typically takes eight weeks to complete and involves individual and family therapy sessions.

Medical City Green Oaks Hospital may accept Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Humana, United Healthcare, and others. Contact your provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary.

I had an excellent stay at this facility. At first, I was very unsure, but the nurses and techs made me feel very safe and welcome. They took great care of me, and this place truly saved my life. I want to express my gratitude to Mr. Martine, Lyndon, Avery, Angela, Nurse Deliah, and Tasia each one of them was incredibly patient and considerate. The food was great, and the facility was nice and clean. I stayed in A7, and the experience exceeded my expectations. Thank you all for everything!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Texas may be necessary if your loved one is in denial about a substance use disorder. You can partner with intervention services to plan and execute an effective intervention that educates your loved one about addiction and encourages them to get the treatment they need. Many rehab centers offer intervention specialists who can facilitate the intervention and help with a seamless transition to inpatient rehab for treatment.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

When used as recommended, nicotine replacement therapy in Texas provides enough nicotine to help you avoid severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms after quitting smoking. This increases comfort so you're less likely to relapse into your smoking habit.

Honestly not my favorite place in the world. A lot of the staff is rude do not know how to deescalate a situation. They honestly egging clients on and they leave everyone in one big room all day. The groups are a joke, the food is terrible. If you love your loved ones don’t send them here. Getting released takes forever. They don’t take people outside. They won’t send all your prescriptions to the pharmacy you have to call to get them to get it right.

Green Oaks Hospital is a joke along with their staff. I was a patient here. All I had dealt with was ALOT of miscommunication, bad attitudes, staff cursing at the patients and they talk down to you like you're a child, and so on. If there is a limited amount of beds, they will stick you in ANY unit available, versus a unit that is fit for you. Horrible food, uncomfortable beds, etc. I was given a discharge date by the doctor and when that day came, they decided to keep me another day and wouldn't give me a good reason why. My advice is please find another place to go to because this one is NOT it.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for writing to us. We apologize you feel your experience with us did meet your expectations. We want all of our patients to know they can contact our Patient Advocate Stephanie Haynes during their stay. We'd like to hear more. Please call Stephanie at (972)991-9504 so she can learn more about your stay. Again, thanks for sharing and hope you are feeling better.

I was brought here after having the police called on me after having told a friend that I was suicidal, they told me I either had to come willingly or they would arrest me. While there Dr. Roach, who processed my intake took the week off for vacation, and other doctors refused to discharge me, so I was forced to stay there for a week against my will. This made my feelings of depression worse.

Our Medical City Green Oaks Hospital truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our patient advocate, Stephanie at 972-770-0853 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.

I had good experiences at green oaks just not spectacular ones one of the patients one time I was there she faked a seizure when it was time for me to be discharged I hated that thanks still got discharged that day plus that patient was evil to most of the minorities that didn’t pass for white or light skin Hispanic. She ignored me which I liked. A group of nursing staff that was there one day I was there didn’t speak to anyone that didn’t pass for white. I hate prejudice and colorism from anyone. Some of the staff were jerks too to me for no reason. Room for improvement.

Don't use this facility for anything. do-not allow yourself to be taken here. They give no information about your loved one, They endlessly transfer the phone half the time no one answers. You be given a patient code by someone who identifies themselves as a doctor and then the code is good for nothing and no one will give any information and surprise there is no doctor on staff by the name of the person you just spoke to. They promised to have a work note ready and when I arrived no one knew anything about it. I physically saw an older woman put outside the door with a garbage bag of her belongings and told to leave, she could barely stand. I fully believe they would have held my loved one hostage had I not made noise. To be fair my loved one said it was clean but he was given no bed, blankets, personal supplies, it was stated that some of the food was fairly ok. patient was forced medication even after they told me he would not be forced. no type of help or resources were provided. This is not a safe facility for mental healthcare this is a city of Dallas holding tank for people that right care and the city do not know what to do with.
