I had major back surgery recently and everything was fine until I reached the after care room. The nurses were very neglectful. They failed to give me pain medicine in a timely manner, they failed to correctly measure my blood pressure which had dropped to 61/51. She rarely checked on me. They refused to change up my meds and I was crying. The nurse gave me an Ambien to shut me up. I felt like they had no compassion as they left me in a dirty bed that I had thrown up and sweated in. My IV was falling out and it took a nurse 2 hours just to come in and check it out... she just laughed and left. This place was miserable.

Accepted Insurance

New Vision – Research Medical Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The Day Treatment or Partial Hospital Program provides an effective option for the patient (adult or adolescent) who urgently needs daily treatment without the need for 24-hour care. Outpatient therapy can be helpful in avoiding a crisis situation, such as when an individual is struggling emotionally or battling an addiction but does not require inpatient hospitalization.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

STAR stands for Stress, Trauma, Addictions and Recovery. This separate, distinct inpatient unit or partial hospitalization program is for active duty service members. The program is led by an experienced psychiatrist who works with a team of therapists and caregivers to addresses each soldier’s behavioral health issues. These are commonly trauma, PTSD, substance abuse and addiction, and family issues.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Worst care that I have ever received after a mental health crisis. Was held without receiving any mental health care. When I was released it was at 1 am after I had been given sleep meds and was sleeping for the night.

Mr chance the group theropist in the th phych ward should be fired… he made rude disrespectful remarks about me to other patients during group sessions saying that he was surprised that I was back so soon he was expecting me labour day weekend or time before that… I went to the lead supervisor Ms Shelly I think her name is with the glasses white heavy set lady was completely rude non scencere about the patients well-being. I went to her about Mr chance behavior and she could care less then I went to Ms Cynthia the black lady who’s the phych cordinator I believe and she didn’t want to hear nothing I had to say about Mr chance, she was in denial and didn’t show any empathy. Ms. Cynthia, Ms Shelly, Dr O the black bald head physician made it very clear that they cared more about the Hospitals best interest instead of the patients… Mr. Chance literally triggered everyone in the room twice during his sessions and the fact that he’s also giving theropy to the teens is even worse… His careless, self centered, unprofessional, practices needs to be expose because people are dying and I wouldn’t doubt it if some of there blood was on his hands…

I got transferred here around 4-5 pm due to my congenital heart condition and the fact that I was coughing up blood. Once I got in the room they told me I wouldn’t be able to eat because I have to see the cardiovascular doctor that will establish a diet for me or just in case they have to do “general surgery” on me. Which I honestly never heard of. They kept telling me I will see that doctor in the morning. Well morning came around and I never met the cardiovascular doctor so I wasn’t able to eat then the afternoon came around still wasn’t able to eat then around 5/6pm they let me eat. So they starved me for 24hours no reason. They ran three different tests a CAT scan, MRI, and echocardiogram, took blood, and even took the sample of blood I coughed up, but they never told me what was going on. The CAT scan was done a day before still never got the results on that. Never met the cardiovascular doctor. I was just in there getting tests ran on and given pills nobody really explained to me what was going on I honestly felt like they were just running up my hospital bill which I can’t afford to begin with so I ended up just leaving because at that point I just felt like when the cardiovascular doctor has some time we can set up an appointment and go through all the tests and samples they gotten from and speak on the next moves. I felt like it was pointless to lay in the hospital and watch cartoons if I was never going to see the cardiovascular doctor and they weren’t going to tell me what’s going on. It was one nurse who was really nice and it was because of her I was able to eat so that’s why I gave a 2/5. I appreciate that nurse.

I've been going to this research since I was a young boy, my mother went there, my father went there, my two half Brothers went there, their friends went there, everybody went there, I would say that it was a good hospital. I called 911 on August the 2nd 2025, 905 a.m. and ambulance took me to research, they told me that I was having a heart attack, when I went in there they went to work, they put eight stents in my heart on the right side. I would say that they do a real good job down there, the ambulance people are very friendly and understanding to people that are scared.
