They were short-staffed when I came, but they were still able to pull it off and gave me a great experience. Great food, too! The owner even comes in multiple times a week and runs a group on Thursdays. He shares his personal life story. You do not get that very often. The nursing staff is very caring as well. I could not sleep for several nights, so the nurse practitioner tweaked my medication several times until we found the right combination. If you’re contemplating going or returning to treatment, you are going to find a better place, in my opinion. I feel that I am ready and finally capable of staying sober long term. My son was only four days old when I brought him in after being told that he had infant jaundice and needed to be evaluated. As a new mother who was only four days postpartum, I was already overwhelmed and anxious. I expected clear communication and a thorough evaluation of my newborn. Unfortunately, I did not feel that my son received a thorough evaluation. During the visit, his height and weight were taken, and Dr. Ohm visually looked at him and had very limited physical contact with him. I did not feel that a comprehensive newborn examination was performed. There was little explanation of what she was assessing or what specifically she was looking for regarding his jaundice. This became even more concerning to me after I switched pediatricians. At his new pediatrician’s office, his doctor performed a much more thorough physical examination, including examining his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, penis, and rectum, in addition to checking his overall health. That experience made me realize just how limited I felt my son’s previous evaluation had been. I was also extremely disappointed with how my breastfeeding plan was handled. I was exclusively breastfeeding and had never agreed to supplement with formula. Despite this, Dr. Ohm documented in my son’s chart that I was supplementing with formula. I had not made that decision or given consent to document that as his feeding plan. I was then sent home with a bottle and samples of formula. As a new breastfeeding mother, this was incredibly discouraging and negatively affected my confidence. I understand that supplementation can sometimes be medically necessary, and if my son genuinely needed it, I would have wanted that explained to me. My concern is that this was not presented to me as a decision that we needed to discuss, and my wishes as his mother were not properly communicated or respected. My son was 8 lbs 14 oz at birth and had lost approximately 8% of his birth weight, but he was already gaining weight back. By three weeks old, he weighed 9 lbs 5 oz. Again, my concern is not simply that formula was offered. It is the combination of the lack of communication, the limited evaluation I observed, and documentation in his chart that did not reflect the feeding plan I had chosen. When you are a new mother with a four-day-old baby who has been told that her newborn has jaundice and needs to be evaluated, you should be able to trust that your concerns will be taken seriously, that your baby will receive an appropriate examination, and that you will be clearly informed about what is happening. Unfortunately, I left this experience feeling confused, overwhelmed, unheard, and less confident as a new mother. I ultimately decided to switch pediatricians, and I am much more comfortable with the level of communication and care my son is receiving now. I hope Dr. Ohm and the office take this feedback seriously, because new parents deserve to feel informed, respected, and confident in the care their newborn is receiving. kenda walker 1 month ago

It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. I started the MRC program around February 2026 for severe anxiety and depression. I was in a dark place, with no support from family or friends, and honestly I didn't think anything was going to help me at that point. The first day I arrived the staff were very welcoming but my anxiety was through the roof. I pretty much stayed in my room and only came out for meds and food too scared to really talk to anyone. As the weeks went by, I started getting comfortable then realized my peers were literally going through the same thing I was same with the staff, some of whom had gone through the same program themselves It gave me motivation if they could do it I could do it too. One of the things I struggled with was my schedule. It got so bad it started bleeding into everything like one day I'd sleep at 9pm, the next at 1pm, then I wouldn't sleep at all for three days straight. When I got there I kept missing classes because I was oversleeping or straight up refusing to wake up, so I got a warning that my phone would be taken away. That scared me straight that's when I finally got my shit together lol. Now 5 months later I had lost my job, totaled my car and pretty much everything I owned. A year ago that would've completely broken me. But I was okay. And that was the part that surprised me the most all this time I'd been chasing something that never had any real value to me in the first place. The job was good money sure but it brought me zero happiness. Working 90 hours a week was actively making my depression worse and I didn't even see it happening until I was already in here fighting to get my mind back. So when the termination letter came yesterday there was sadness but there was relief too. That job had become my whole identity a false one built on something that was quietly destroying me. Now today at 8am instead of frantically getting ready for a job that only made me miserable I'm sitting outside bird watching and reading a magazine like I'm 70 years old lol. And that's the lesson that took me almost losing everything to learn chasing something that has no real value to you personally will wear you down piece by piece until there's nothing left. Their shelter is nice, as well as welcoming, and comforting. I have been here 3 times- the staff here are phenomenal. They're kind, they joke with me, and they help me when I need it. They're there for you, and if they're busy, they'll get to you when they can. There's home cooked meals every day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snack time every night, where they make something for the youth. If you have an allergy, they accommodate for you. My first time here, I was taken by my mentor from school. I had been kicked out the house by my abusive grandfather 5 days after my birthday. Synergy staff welcomed me, and made me feel like I mattered. Each time I was here, I was cared for. I'm now in a different shelter, but I can't recommend this shelter enough to people living in Kansas City, especially in the north east area. The 238 takes you straight to synergy from the east village bay metro area. I've made friends here that I am still in contact with to this day. I still call up here occasionally to speak to staff. Even though I struggled a lot mentally, and struggled with sh, staff didn't treat me any different than any other kid. They made sure I was kept safe, even if it meant Dante fussing at me for wanting to cut my own apples (what a chud). I'd never regret coming here, and I'm so happy I did. Even if I'm not living on my own yet, Synergy has helped me so, so much. I'm grateful to not live with my family, who I know won't support me or give me the help I need with my own mental health. I'm so so grateful, and I can't express it enough. Having been to and having worked at multiple treatment centers, I have to say that Sana Lake is the best one I have been to. The staff cares and work their butts off. They were short-staffed when I came, but they were still able to pull it off and gave me a great experience. Great food, too! The owner even comes in multiple times a week and runs a group on Thursdays. He shares his personal life story. You do not get that very often. The nursing staff is very caring as well. I could not sleep for several nights, so the nurse practitioner tweaked my medication several times until we found the right combination. If you’re contemplating going or returning to treatment, you are going to find a better place, in my opinion. I feel that I am ready and finally capable of staying sober long term. Thank you to ALL the staff at Sana Lake.

I was very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Luisa Ohm and the care my newborn received during his visit. My son was only four days old when I brought him in after being told that he had infant jaundice and needed to be evaluated. As a new mother who was only four days postpartum, I was already overwhelmed and anxious. I expected clear communication and a thorough evaluation of my newborn. Unfortunately, I did not feel that my son received a thorough evaluation. During the visit, his height and weight were taken, and Dr. Ohm visually looked at him and had very limited physical contact with him. I did not feel that a comprehensive newborn examination was performed. There was little explanation of what she was assessing or what specifically she was looking for regarding his jaundice. This became even more concerning to me after I switched pediatricians. At his new pediatrician’s office, his doctor performed a much more thorough physical examination, including examining his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, penis, and rectum, in addition to checking his overall health. That experience made me realize just how limited I felt my son’s previous evaluation had been. I was also extremely disappointed with how my breastfeeding plan was handled. I was exclusively breastfeeding and had never agreed to supplement with formula. Despite this, Dr. Ohm documented in my son’s chart that I was supplementing with formula. I had not made that decision or given consent to document that as his feeding plan. I was then sent home with a bottle and samples of formula. As a new breastfeeding mother, this was incredibly discouraging and negatively affected my confidence. I understand that supplementation can sometimes be medically necessary, and if my son genuinely needed it, I would have wanted that explained to me. My concern is that this was not presented to me as a decision that we needed to discuss, and my wishes as his mother were not properly communicated or respected. My son was 8 lbs 14 oz at birth and had lost approximately 8% of his birth weight, but he was already gaining weight back. By three weeks old, he weighed 9 lbs 5 oz. Again, my concern is not simply that formula was offered. It is the combination of the lack of communication, the limited evaluation I observed, and documentation in his chart that did not reflect the feeding plan I had chosen. When you are a new mother with a four-day-old baby who has been told that her newborn has jaundice and needs to be evaluated, you should be able to trust that your concerns will be taken seriously, that your baby will receive an appropriate examination, and that you will be clearly informed about what is happening. Unfortunately, I left this experience feeling confused, overwhelmed, unheard, and less confident as a new mother. I ultimately decided to switch pediatricians, and I am much more comfortable with the level of communication and care my son is receiving now. I hope Dr. Ohm and the office take this feedback seriously, because new parents deserve to feel informed, respected, and confident in the care their newborn is receiving.

I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

Every staff member I've met has been helpful, lovely, and smiling. Yes, the campus has some bumps and dings, even kids from the most stable backgrounds are careless. It makes sense, but people are working as hard as possible behind the scenes to fix those bumps and dings. The fact that there's a full size gym, a swimming pool that the kids have the opportunity to get into everyday in the summer and as many accoutrements of a family house as possible really makes what looks to me like the best out of a tough situation for some kids.

I was in their IOP. The staff and our group therapist were amazing. The group therapist was so kind and encouraging and was really good at including the entire group in conversation. I am forever grateful to them for everything I have learned. Also Heartland is a wonderful team to work with on the medical side. I did TMS for depression with them and I have to say this is the first time in a long time I don’t feel that constant heaviness and hopelessness anymore. Thank you MRC for all you have done for me. This place has truly changed my life, and it just dawned on me 5 months after completing the program. Sorry in advance for the long post. I started the MRC program around February 2026 for severe anxiety and depression. I was in a dark place, with no support from family or friends, and honestly I didn't think anything was going to help me at that point. The first day I arrived the staff were very welcoming but my anxiety was through the roof. I pretty much stayed in my room and only came out for meds and food too scared to really talk to anyone. As the weeks went by, I started getting comfortable then realized my peers were literally going through the same thing I was same with the staff, some of whom had gone through the same program themselves It gave me motivation if they could do it I could do it too. One of the things I struggled with was my schedule. It got so bad it started bleeding into everything like one day I'd sleep at 9pm, the next at 1pm, then I wouldn't sleep at all for three days straight. When I got there I kept missing classes because I was oversleeping or straight up refusing to wake up, so I got a warning that my phone would be taken away. That scared me straight that's when I finally got my shit together lol. Now 5 months later I had lost my job, totaled my car and pretty much everything I owned. A year ago that would've completely broken me. But I was okay. And that was the part that surprised me the most all this time I'd been chasing something that never had any real value to me in the first place. The job was good money sure but it brought me zero happiness. Working 90 hours a week was actively making my depression worse and I didn't even see it happening until I was already in here fighting to get my mind back. So when the termination letter came yesterday there was sadness but there was relief too. That job had become my whole identity a false one built on something that was quietly destroying me. Now today at 8am instead of frantically getting ready for a job that only made me miserable I'm sitting outside bird watching and reading a magazine like I'm 70 years old lol. And that's the lesson that took me almost losing everything to learn chasing something that has no real value to you personally will wear you down piece by piece until there's nothing left. I'm just grateful I got to learn that here instead of losing myself completely over it. Thank you MRC ❤️

There is a button next to the front door you have to press to get buzzed into the building. It’s on the right side of the door. I hope this is helpful because past reviewers have said they couldn’t get access the building. I had a really great experience here. The process does take some time and you have to be patient. But they were truly amazing and helped me so much. I was assigned an emergency case worker, Phil, who has been amazing. He continuously checks up on me and has helped me every step of the way. Phil helped me sign up for all of my appointments (mental, dental and primary care), as well get Medicaid coverage within a week of leaving the crisis center. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough. They are the net.

I've been a client here since 2011, and I'm so grateful. It's a life saver, but like all recovery clinics you can only get out of it what you put into it. It's easy to blame others when things go wrong, but it's almost always our fault! I had a very hard time, until I stopped arguing and followed direction! They know about recovery, all I knew was self destruction, but thought I was so smart! Now I'm doing really good. This place is great. Update: It's now called Rediscover Transitions, staff is great, doctors great! Give it a shot if you need it!

The Belton VA Clinic is exceptional! The reception staff is always kind, even when they have people being hateful toward them. I’ve never had to wait more than a couple of days for an appointment or labs whenever I need them. I am a big fan in general of VA healthcare. The VA really is the best healthcare system in the country. Some people haven’t dealt with private healthcare in a long time and it shows. I will say if you aren’t the best with technology then scheduling and things might be a little frustrating. If you can manage to use Facebook on your cell phone, watch Fox News on your phone at full volume in the waiting room, or figure out how to leave nasty Google reviews, you should be able to manage using the VA health app to schedule appointments and request meds.

I cannot explain how much i love synergy. Their shelter is nice, as well as welcoming, and comforting. I have been here 3 times- the staff here are phenomenal. They're kind, they joke with me, and they help me when I need it. They're there for you, and if they're busy, they'll get to you when they can. There's home cooked meals every day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snack time every night, where they make something for the youth. If you have an allergy, they accommodate for you. My first time here, I was taken by my mentor from school. I had been kicked out the house by my abusive grandfather 5 days after my birthday. Synergy staff welcomed me, and made me feel like I mattered. Each time I was here, I was cared for. I'm now in a different shelter, but I can't recommend this shelter enough to people living in Kansas City, especially in the north east area. The 238 takes you straight to synergy from the east village bay metro area. I've made friends here that I am still in contact with to this day. I still call up here occasionally to speak to staff. Even though I struggled a lot mentally, and struggled with sh, staff didn't treat me any different than any other kid. They made sure I was kept safe, even if it meant Dante fussing at me for wanting to cut my own apples (what a chud). I'd never regret coming here, and I'm so happy I did. Even if I'm not living on my own yet, Synergy has helped me so, so much. I'm grateful to not live with my family, who I know won't support me or give me the help I need with my own mental health. I'm so so grateful, and I can't express it enough.

this is going to be a very long message i have for everyone doubting this place my name is amelia stone and i am 16 years old, i lived in a very toxic abusive situation until i gave up and ran away, i went to a quick trip in blue springs missouri and the lady took me back to the back had me sit down and called synergy, it was 20 degrees outside i barley had any clothes on and i was not dressed according to the weather, the nicest human being i have ever met, his name is ellis, he came and talked to me and did everything in his power (even broke a few rules) just to get me somewhere safe, i will forever be greatful for that man. when i arrived at synergy, i met lexi and kelsey, they treated me like their own, i never felt like i couldn't be who i was, now onto my person, blayne. blayne was one of the weekday evening workers, they are the best person to have ever walked into my life and they treated me like i was worth something, like i had a future, like i had something to look forward to, they made sure i never gave up no matter what it was my dad did, the people you meet at synergy will be your family for life, your REAL family, family don't have to be blood, just someone you feel at home with, and that's exactly what this place meant to me.
