I have had a family member addicted to fentanyl for years. I have taken them to many places only to be sent away with a script of suboxone. This DID NOT WORK. it was only abused. Then I made the phone call that is saving my sons life and he wad on detox within 4 hours of that call. 5 days later he entered their 90 day program and is doing great. He is 7 days in that program today, my grandson and I were able to have a short visit with him and he looks a thousand times better.. he looks healthy and his mind is clear and there is hope. FINALLY. They didn't just write him a script and send him away like everyone else listed below Research Rediscover(the absolute worst) Truman hospital Centerpoint All the above failed where Heartland is succeeding. Make that call to them they know what they are doing.

This amazing caring staff IS the difference at heartland. This is an underrated community resource in independence and Jackson county. It's not the abundance of resources, or judgements free environment of learning the art of new patterns and behaviors as tools to combat a variety of epidemics that affect every family. It is the HUMAN compassion, patience, counseling and tools for accountability. This place is a lifeline for those who have and have not other options or resources. Walk in and ask for help. It's that easy. First step.

I have worked with this organization and have several contacts enroll and receive services here. They are one of the best around if you are struggling with alcohol or substance use disorder. Very compassionate and genuinely want to help those that are wanting and needing to make positive changes in their lives. BECKY PELLEHAM IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. MAKE SURE YOU ASK TO MEET HER WHEN YOU ARE ON SITE. SHE IS EXTREMELY RESOURCEFUL, AND IF SHE SEES THAT YOU ARE TAKING YOUR RECOVERY SERIOUS AND TRYING TO BETTER YOUR LIFE THEN THE SKYS THE LIMIT AS FAR AS WHAT SHE CAN DO FOR YOU. I wouldn't mislead or try to benefit from someone seeking recovery as so many people and places do. This is the best place around especially if you dont have private health insurance.

My son has made huge progress in his daily living skills. He has had life coaches with whom he can talk to at any time. He is learning how to deal with a complex addiction. His therapist,Casey Kapple, is the absolute best at what he does. Not just for our son but also in leading the parents group. I could not ask for better results

My visit included an in-depth look at the residential hall, the impressive indoor gym, and the welcoming dining area, giving me a comprehensive understanding of their program and facilities. From the moment I stepped onto the campus, it was clear that Embark places a high priority on creating a well-maintained and therapeutic environment. The grounds were immaculate, and the buildings themselves gave a sense of calm and care, which is so crucial for individuals in residential treatment. The residential hall felt genuinely comfortable and safe, with spaces designed to promote both individual reflection and community building. The indoor gym was particularly noteworthy. It's clear they understand the vital role physical activity plays in mental well-being, and having such a well-equipped, accessible space indoors is a significant asset, especially during inclement weather. Their well-maintained campus, dedicated and knowledgeable staff, and comprehensive program truly set a high standard for residential care.

Activities were good, I would like to have 2 family sessions. Just found that in day 2 we were able to open more and would have liked more family therapy. Food was great. Emotional couple of days which is exhausting, thank you staff.

The people here are great, understanding and genuinely want to help you! Lindsey in scheduling is very nice and knowledgeable. The receptionist is as sweet as she can be. My doctor is wonderful! So glad I found this place. It has saved my life.

I've been a client here since 2011, and I'm so grateful. It's a life saver, but like all recovery clinics you can only get out of it what you put into it. It's easy to blame others when things go wrong, but it's almost always our fault! I had a very hard time, until I stopped arguing and followed direction! They know about recovery, all I knew was self destruction, but thought I was so smart! Now I'm doing really good. This place is great. Update: It's now called Rediscover Transitions, staff is great, doctors great! Give it a shot if you need it!

The staff is friendly and the other patients are generally kind and supportive. Good sense of community here. The doctor I had seemed to really know what he's doing, as the medication he added not only stabilized my mood pretty well, but it also seems to be helping with my extremely debilitating ME/CFS. This is so unexpected and life altering. Thank you; I finally have hope again. Bonus points for amazing food!

It's been 21 days at this chaotic place!! But for real, it saved my life!!!!!!! If you need to get sober this is the place to be....

Susan is a wonderful woman with a heart for helping others. She is compassionate, genuinely cares, and is very intelligent. She stays updated on current medical journals to provide the best care possible. My experience with her was life changing. She helped me unpack my unbearable shame. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be in a healthy place mentally today. She's the best!!
