Don't recommend for mental health! I got maybe one 20 minute therapy session a week and more often than not, I had to go to the therapist instead of them coming to get me like they were supposed to. Some techs had no clue what they were doing and some just didn't care. There were very little amount of techs who actually did their job, and did it correctly! Nurses had no clue what they were doing, I'm pretty sure only three of them did. Two people had a seizure during my time there, me being one of them, and my peers were doing more than the nurses were to help!! Kitchen staff did amazing! Food was great, so shout out to them!! Shout out to the techs that knew what they were doing and handling certain situations wonderfully. SO to techs, Drew, Marcia, Alivia, Marvin, Destiny, Melissa, and Terry (I may have missed one). All together, if you plan on going to a recovery center, I'd choose a different place and do your research carefully!! P.S. there is no pool or gym or massage therapist, etc.

Accepted Insurance

Kandela Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

SCAM ALERT! Bluecrossing the nation scam and I'm a victim too now. I was falling apart as a human being just to be exploited by salesmen in my time of need. There's a Facebook profile about the scam. You will leave the facility even more broken, in super debt, and all of your family angry at you and even them being scammed and double charged. The picture is what I'm charged for a blood test I was too sick to even agree to, was just told I have to do it. A tech was even in bed with a patient and I caught them. Disgusting loud and horrible place. They go behind your back and call your emergency contacts and extort them out of their $ making you feel they'd be kicked out for not paying. Your virtually only allowed to walk in circles inside or outside which is like ten yards 10 feet wide to walk back and forth. Boredom will kill you they only have coloring books and every 4 days a walk outside. They will make it sound special. It's not, it's exactly like a state ran facility you'd get committed to and they lack the experience in withdrawal symptoms, you can die there in that terrible place. I watched a staff member make fun of somebody's ptsd and claustrophobia, I filed a grievance, they were off a week and allowed to come back to work and then she'd still break in to people's showers and aggressively scan your bracelet every 7 minutes even though the minimum is 15 minutes, so you'll never be able to catch your breath there and get away from people pray or meditate. I'd rather relapse and * than ever go there for one more second. Even the employees ALL talked about how bad the place is.

Scam! I was scammed by patient brokers. They contacted my emergency contact (my dying mom) and hustled her out of money who had no idea I was even there and for what. Then a lead tech broke hippa laws and told her over my phone call I was detoxing and throwing up in bed. They made my mother believe I'd be on the streets and stuck in florida so they offered a small payment plan and then double charged her. It's an insurance scam. I left there the same and I'm wondering right now how I'm supposed to take care of myself, I did 25 days there and I feel broken. No tablets allowed, a fight to use your phone, one therapist visit in a month, screams, fights, evwey 15 minutes all day and night they scan your wire bracelet and then slam your door shut, one tech did it to me every 8 minutes. Zero peace. Poorly ran classes like a state ran facility. They have like 6 Teslas parked outside yet the inside is like a jail. Super cramped. I feel like I'm going to relapse and I'm so upset I was exploited during my time of need. I came back home feeling worthless. No real aftercare plan. Nurse tried to give me some other patients meds until I showed her the mistake. One tech made fun of another woman's claustrophobia. One tech was caught in bed with a client, I watched it. To keep my fmla and that case took me nearly two weeks as I was trying to detox and just stay alive. I feel I could relapse and overdose accidentally at any second. Several classes were "you tell us what you think we should talk about". Zero water pressure. You can only walk in parking lot twice a week. You'll NEVER see the beach. I've seen jails, this is pretty close to it but it has okay food. You can only have sugar free fake juice or milk or coffee that's it to drink. They took me off subutex way too soon. A week after being off it I had 150/100 b.p. and h.r. of 145bpm with paws being a 7/10 and they said just ride it out as I tried to leave. They say you'll be stuck in florida if you leave early. I was sure I was going to die there. I still need help and it is not there. I've contacted the right places to report crimes and scams and even better business, this place will get someone or multiple people killed from the lack of appropriate care. I watched about 20 people almost start yelling when we had a complaint time meeting with all the patients. I can't believe whats happened to me like I really need help but now fmla is over and it's back to the work environment. This has been a recipe for failure for me and now my life is on the line.

I called them to inquire about their in-patient program and reiterated that my husband and I are simply gathering information about each facility to make an informed decision. I get a call back from one of the representatives the next day, and explained that I will be seeking local treatment before jumping to a service that's 13 hours away from us. The representative, some female who couldn't take no for an answer when met with a reasonable explanation for why we will not be moving forward at this time, became immediately hostile and tried to pressure and shame me into continuing with their services. Congratulations to the clown you hired that represents your facility, will never consider this place now and will tell others not to either❤️

Where do I start? They lied and coerced our daughter to go. Sent videos and pics of how it was a luxury rehab etc. Kandela is NOT. Paid for her airfare and picked her up in a Tesla. Really? Must be making a lot of money on your victims. There was mold in the sink and shower and the men techs were allowed to pop in her bedroom at any time, even if showering. We were told by con man Michael in recruiting that she had met her deductible and that we were set and insurance would cover it. 🐍 The day after her arrival we received a call from financial services requiring us to pay $2200.00 or they could not move forward with treatment. We did not and will not pay a dime! There are fights every day and patients walking around in psychosis. Way too many people there that the staff didn’t have time to see patients one on one. Our daughter went for help with depression and anxiety. Absolutely no reason she should have been mixed with others whose issues were extreme and so vastly different let alone combined in living quarters with men! So we made a call to say Kandela is not what we expected and that she wants to leave and she is told that, “We wanted to go ahead and get you here and that you are supposed to be transferred to a different facility after the first week” NEVER was that said. They allowed 💨 smoking and vaping Inside the building and in group sessions where others had the Breathe it! 😡 They did not follow up with medical tests and results. Medication was not given properly or on time. She had to ask for it and they tried to add more medication!!! They hover over you during phone calls so you cannot tell anyone the bad stuff going on there. Trust me, you are just a number there and there is no sincere concern for you. Emily, Olivia were kind. That’s the only thing good we have to say. Do NOT go here or send your child to this horrendous place. Kandela you get a zero 0️⃣

Kandela saved my life. If I didn’t come to the recovery center. I would not still be alive. The staff was amazing. Ja’mya and Mr. Marvin were integral in keeping me sane. Sophie and Christina were so very helpful on my FMLA and helping me sort out some feeling. Todd and Caesar, in the kitchen were amazing and the food was great.
