Just when I thought all hope was last with my child and I felt I had no where left to turn, we got him into Kandela. It was a rough start, he wanted to leave, didn't want to be there, and wanted to be home with us. The staff worked tirelessly to make sure he felt supported through this period and also made sure we felt supported. He worked through the initial uncertainty and ended up doing so well there. He connected with the staff, worked great with his therapist, loved the nurses, and the food! I am eternally thankful Kandela didn't give up on my son. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Accepted Insurance

Kandela Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

When you have a mental health disorder and an addiction, it's known as a co-occurring disorder. Since treating both conditions at the same time is critical, you'll want to seek out a dual diagnosis treatment center. These specialized rehabs offer the care needed to overcome both disorders, which drastically increases your chances of success in long-term recovery. Types of therapies provided tend to include individual and group counseling, relapse prevention education, coping skills training, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

WARNING. Do NOT send anyone here. My wife reached out to this facility after suffering from mental health issues. We spoke to Noah and Austin right away. We are in Ohio and was given advice to take her to Florida. They paid for her flight and made us sign a waiver we’d pay it back in 12 months. This all happened in less than 30 hours. We were assured her diabetes would be taken care of, she would have her own room, they would make store runs for her if needed and pick up her meds for diabetes at the pharmacy down there, they would keep her phone at the nurse station to monitor her glucose as she has a sensor, this was a top facility and that even though they treated ‘patients’ MORE LIKE INMATES, there would be separate wings based on severity of mental health. They also assured there was a small wing for detox patients withdrawing from drugs. Not the truth. They are all in the same place. Once she got to intake, the employees were rude, mean and yelling at me. Calling me a liar, they will send me the recorded call then said it’s against HIPPA which means, they said the wrong thing on the call. Slapped a tracking device on her and put her through lock down. Her ‘safe call’ was 2 seconds to tell me she was there. Luckily prior to that she had me on the phone and I heard it all. The night she got there and asked to leave they said she could but she would be sleeping on the streets and she can’t take her phone, backpack or suitcase with her. They gave her meds that were NOT prescribed to her. She had no access to feminine products unless the employees would give it her. The bathrooms had locks and only 3 employees to give them access. She was never fed. She arrived at 8:30 pm and didn’t get to eat once before I got her out of there around 3:00pm the next day. They lied to her and told her I said she needed to stay, I have calls and text where I very clearly said to let her go the hotel is booked and uber on the way. She finally was able to leave with her belongings and into the uber to the hotel. AFTER multiple calls and texts. Every time I tried to call the number it rang 3 times then went dead. Had to call the original number to get the new ‘main line’ number and every time it was different. They set up multiple Google accounts for calls. She was there from 8:30pm to 3:00 pm the next day. This all happened within that time frame… If you want your loved one safe, this is not it. They said they had reports of open wounds from self harm on her legs from her strip search. A strip search was NEVER done. This was an insurance scam to get the insurance company to make her stay. I will add that Samantha was amazing and the only helpful one through out this entire thing!

Although my initial introduction here wasn’t what was promised to me over the phone I definitely recommend coming here for mental health. I’m a mom with two young boys that couldn’t get my medication down with my diagnosis', but I’ve grown and learned so much since being here!

Their price for self pay is $8400 per week. When I questioned that the “workers” response was to ask me if I had insurance since I didn’t have the “finances” to pay for it. Apparently I am poor because I can’t afford $8400 per week. This isn’t about helping people, it’s robbery.

Do NOT come here. I was in a very bad place mentally and they got me on a plane from wisconsin to florida to attend this "successful" program- this all happened under 24 hours. You get told all these amazing things like theres a work out room, pool, talk to your loved ones everyday, etc. but theres NOTHING. There is NOTHING to do. When I arrived, there was an employee who was supposed to be doing activities with clients but she was sleeping with a client and got fired. After that, nobody would do anything with us so we sat and talked and talked and talked and talked. You get threatened if you want to leave because youll be AMA, I have witnessed employees not give individuals their belongings if they wanted to walk. If they got lucky and received their things and left, they will call your family and tell them to "show tough love" and drain the clients bank account so they have no choice but to come back to the program. I have witnessed this situation happen myself. Another thing, they will let actual predators into the program and let them scare all the women in the facility and do nothing about it until I had to speak to my therapist directly (who was amazing, by the way). Rumors also started that I had an inappropriate relationship with another peer- this caused me great anxiety because I got talked to about it when NOTHING was happening. I saw actual inappropriate behavior happen, but those instances didnt matter apparently. At the end of my time here, I decided I wanted to go home instead of PHP and they didn't like that. The staff asked me multiple times each day leading up to me going home, but I stood my ground and I'm beyond grateful I chose home. I will give some shout outs though to those who DESERVE it: Jose, Alivia, Andrew, Destiny, Marcia, Terry (though I heard he quit, good for him honestly). Changes to be made? EVERYTHING needs to change. I know how the job market is currently but the individuals at the top of this program need to be replaced as well as T.
