About Therapeutic Associates Bend Physical Therapy

Therapeutic Associates Central Oregon is a physical therapy facility that treats people recovering from injuries or surgery. It’s located in Bend, Oregon.

While it’s not a substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facility, its staff is trained in understanding pain management and they’re aware of warning signs that a person might be struggling with opioid addiction as a result of prescription medications given after surgery or during the rehabilitation period. This facility specifically works with athletes, individuals recovering from surgery, and those suffering from chronic pain.

Bend, Oregon, like many places in the Pacific Northwest, is surrounded by natural beauty thanks to its location. It is in Oregon’s medical corridor, and is not far from the St. Charles Medical Center. It’s near Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint, and Pine Nursery Park both of which offer plenty of nature based excursions for people to enjoy.

Orthopedic Recovery

Therapeutic Associates is really focused on supporting people who are recovering from physical injuries. This care is provided on an outpatient basis, and in some cases can be accessed through telehealth appointments for people who are further along in their recovery journey.

Most treatment here blends both physical therapy treatment such as stretching and physical activities, with helpful instruction on injury prevention to avoid further physical damage to joints, muscles, or bones. Self management strategies may also be employed to help people continue their recovery journey independently when they’re not at the facility.

Pain Management Support

Because this facility is focused on rehabilitation and care, pain management is part of that level of care. However, pain management can also include education on the dangers of opioid addiction, and prioritize shifting down to weaker prescriptions as mobility improves. Therapeutic Associates Central Oregon accepts most major insurance, as well as self payment options.

I found Laura Cooper at Therapeutic Associates when I was dealing with persistent mastitis. After several rounds of antibiotics and feeling terrible for weeks, I was feeling extremely defeated and was ready to give up on breastfeeding. However, after learning Laura provided physical therapy services for breast inflammation, I decided to schedule an appointment as a last ditch effort. I am so thankful that I did. Laura is not only an intelligent and skilled PT practitioner, but also a wonderful human who provides holistic care. She is a shining example to healthcare practitioners everywhere. She consistently went above and beyond to help and advocate for me, such as rearranging her schedule to squeeze me in for appointments, communicating concerns to my OB and lactation consultant, and even holding my fussy baby while concurrently providing my therapy. The entire team of assistants and front desk staff are also great. I am so thankful to all of them for helping me through a truly difficult time. The women of Central Oregon are so lucky to have Laura and her skillset.

My therapist was Laura Cooper. She was very professional and explained things very well. Only took two sessions to get the job done. Office staff was very friendly and very patient and helpfull. You wont be disapointed if you choose them.

I can't say enough about Laura and the rest of the staff at Therapeutic Associates! I was referred to them after having hernia surgery and found so much more than just Physical Therapy. I got stronger, healed faster, and gained a better understanding of my body overall. Laura and her team are incredibly professional, always spending the time to talk and understand how I was doing, and giving reasonable exercises as "homework". I'm incredibly grateful to have worked with Laura.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
