About Turning Point Care Center

Turning Point is an alcohol and drug rehab center located in a private, serene setting in Moultrie, Georgia. They offer detox, inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization program, an intensive outpatient program and aftercare services. You can also enroll in virtual treatment if you’d like to get care from the comfort of home.

You’ll start treatment in an inpatient setting which lets you have round the clock supervision to ensure your safety and comfort as you begin your recovery. There you’ll engage in therapy and learn about your addiction triggers. You’ll also begin working on coping skills and relapse prevention techniques.

It’s also likely that you’ll need to detox when you enter treatment and they’ll manage the process to ease the withdrawal symptoms and prevent possible complications. You could receive FDA-approved medications to make detox easier.

If you are in early recovery and need a lot of support but can’t or don’t want to stay at the treatment facility overnight their partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs might be for you. You can visit the center multiple times a week to get the care you need while you keep working and living at home.

Their dual diagnosis services are great for helping people with both mental health challenges and addiction issues. You’ll likely participate in cognitive behavioral therapy and the 12 Step model to address the unhealthy thought patterns that have contributed to your substance misuse.

Another unique benefit of their program is their virtual outpatient service that allows you to connect remotely with a credentialed therapist. This way, you can get care and support anywhere and anytime you need it.

Their aftercare services are also terrific for ensuring you get a complete continuum of care. You might enroll in any number of alumni groups and services from Facebook groups and texts to Zoom calls and annual events.

For payment, Turning Point accepts Medicare, TRICARE. Caresource, and most major insurances.

My sister recently tried to get help at this place they called her back and done her intake and then told her she needed to go to the ER and get a medical clearance in order for her Tobe accepted because she had attempted suicide already so she went to the ER and faxed them the paperwork that they asked for they then told her that for them to help her she needed to pay them $6000 up front which she don't have so if she does end up committing suicide I guess the blood will be on their hands cuz they refuse to help he even though she cried out to them

Accepted Insurance

Turning Point Care Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Peach State Health Plan

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Turning Point’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a uniquely designed program that provides the knowledge, skills, and support to patients to gradually transition back into everyday life as healthy and productive members of society. The IOP is designed to provide longer term treatment to help patients break the cycle of relapse.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Designed for individuals who don't require round-the-clock care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a form of outpatient care with a higher level of support. PHP treatment can be an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option. With daily sessions lasting 6 to 8 hours, up to 5 days a week, a partial hospitalization program may offer medication management, relapse prevention techniques, and behavioral therapy interventions. PHP treatment can be fully or partially covered by insurance.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Turning Point has expanded its program menu to meet the acute need for trauma stabilization services. This program is designed to deliver highly individualized treatment for patients severely impacted by traumatic experiences. Patients receive a full range of treatment services which includes daily group therapy, recreation therapy, and three individual sessions per week.

The skills you learn in couples therapy are designed to help you successfully address relationship challenges as they arise. These skills can include anger management, conflict resolution, communication, and problem solving.

During rehab in Georgia, you may engage in motivational interviewing. This typically lasts one to two sessions and is designed to address any ambivalence you have toward change. It helps you explore your current situation and motivations and commit to making changes for the future.

Worst place ever and they do not make clients comfortable during detox. If you go there, you will be uncomfortable and they will tell you to suck it up. Worst! Place is very cold and absolutely nothing to do.

i was admitted here back in april/may last year after a suicide attempt. the behavioral techs were probably the best part about this place. very kind & genuinely seem like they want to help people (mr Grant, mr Tim, ms Deb to name a few). the counselors are decent too. however i was discharged too soon in my opinion, i voiced this to my counselor & it seemed there wasnt much they could/wanted to do. i had a mental health episode towards the end of my stay which included self inflicted psychical harm & had the chief of nursing tell my mother there was "nothing they could do" for me & discharged me back to my abusive ex boyfriends home with no plan (at least nothing covered under my insurance). i had also brought to their attention the fact that an elder male patient had sexually assaulted me & they did nothing with that information, claiming it was "too far back" for them to search the cameras & it didnt matter bc he had already discharged. overall i felt pretty unsafe here for a good part of my near month stay in the mental health ward. and on a personal note, if you have extreme self harm wounds prepare to be visibly judged by every nurse on staff when they check them.

Shoddy as it can get! They take all of your electronic devices even devices you depend on for your pain like spinal stimulator. You only get help from outer patients if you are handicap. The place is not for the hearing impaired. The food is not diabetic friendly. If you have an episode with your health that you feel that you need to go to the ER they will absolutely refuse it. The staff are rude, unhelpful with no I’m empathy! If you are used to taking your meds 3x a day get ready for only 2x a day and that is if you get all of your medication! If you enter into their facility with and unsettled mine and are stress get ready for more. It is pure chaos with a skelton staff that is overwhelmed not well managed or trained. They are not forthcoming with any information about what you can expect. I am sure they get a lot of homeless, gangbangers and court order ex cons there but not all people fall into that category. You are treated like a criminal and you are being punished more that helped. It was traumatizing! They burnt me and I will never step foot in another rehab center and that is not fair to the ligaments centers! I could say a whole lot more but I hope I have made my point……

I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff was great. The doctors and phychiatrist knew more than me about my meds. They decreased a couple of them in half the milligram I take at home. I was able to sleep better there, even with the decrease, than I do at home. They took great care of me, especially my first full day there when I was so sick. Big shout out to Teresa who kept a great check on me through the night while I was detoxing. Roberts groups were great as he allowed us to really run the group as in an open discussion forem. I believe this allowed us to share without fear of being judged and made me realize there were others going through the same issues I am. I wish I had stayed a couple more days and extended my detox as I'm having severe anxiety without the medicine I detoxed off of but I'm using the tools I learned there to cope. I would recommend anyone with substance abuse issues come there where they will safety take care of your medical and phychilogical issues. You will be in a safe place where you will meet other great women. There were only a small group of women so we all got close. I give Turning Point a big thumbs up👍. I forgot to mention they will get you there from anywhere in USA.
