So nonetheless I carved out more time to go up there only to have her appointment cancelled the day of bc the dr called in. And they want me to wait another 5-6 weeks to reschedule. Unacceptable

I went with my 6 year old son (diagnosed with autism/adhd) It took us 2 months to get an appt after being referred there by our neurologist, we were wrongfully scheduled with a psychologist and not a psychiatrist. Our issue specifically required a psychiatrist. We saw Dr. Holly Hunter who prescribed my son Clonidine to manage his ADHD symptoms not caring that we were against this medication & not caring about the side effects it would have. She didnt want to even be in the room as she was obviously non caring and rushed us. Why be in a field where you specifically handle complex children if you don't care? I will never give anymore of my son's time or mines to this doctor.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Clients in addiction recovery typically require robust, ongoing support, which rehab aftercare programs are designed to provide. These programs are premised on the idea that clients' mental, emotional, physical, social, and financial wellbeing is essential to recovery. Clients collaborate with their case managers and addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services they will need to thrive while in recovery. Clients may receive peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Alcoholism (alcohol use disorder) affects a person mentally, physically, and relationally. A person with alcohol dependence craves alcohol and has an impaired ability to control their alcohol consumption. They experience withdrawal symptoms if they stop alcohol use. Individuals with this condition can achieve recovery through treatment. Alcohol rehab in Arkansas offers inpatient and outpatient options that provide counseling, support groups, and medication to help individuals overcome alcohol addiction and maintain recovery.

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with a scheduler here today. She told me several reasons why my child could not be seen and none of them were accurate. She was rude and insensitive. She also refused to let me speak to a supervisor. I have never experienced such rudeness and insensitivity in a health care setting.
