I completed the 28 day program twice and spent over 90 days total. At first I didn't like it. They were strict and it was kinda of a tough love thing, I'm sure of that. But, I appreciated that tough love, structure, and accountability, because that is what I needed at the time. After I finished the 28 they found me a job that I really enjoyed and provided transportation to and from work . At the N.A. , C.A. and alumni meetings , I came to realize that the people here really do care about me, you, and each other. They want nothing more than to see everyone succeed. They are truly one big family!

One of the best decisions I ever made was going to Rivendell. I went inpatient first and it helped a lot. Everyone treated me with kindness and care. After about 7 days I started the outpatient program. I looked forward to going every day. I learned so much about myself. Marla is the therapist and she is wonderful. Rachel is the RN. She is also a kind and caring person and Dr. Street the psychiatrist I can't say enough about him. He truly cares about his patients. I wish I could still go but it's time for me to go out in this world and use the tools I have learned in rehab. If I ever feel like I need help again I won't hesitate to go back to Rivendell.

This facility was such a blessing for me! I was very apprehensive at first, some things were scary at first but the staff helped me my making me feel important to them as a patient. I was well taken care of on the east side unit. I was given everything I needed and more. Meds, meals, and breaks on a steady schedule. Plenty of group sessions, music therapy, art therapy, equestrian therapy, recreational therapy, substance abuse therapy, etc. etc. etc. There was never a dull moment throughout the day! Always something to do to help the healing process. The food was absolutely excellent as well. Even a salad bar available at lunchtime everyday. Plenty of options to choose from. My absolute favorite part of my stay was the techs, nurses, and the therapists. 1 tech, Cassandra on day shift! She especially made me so comfortable. She pulled me out of my shell from day one, and until my last day there. She was a godsend. She was so caring of people's' situations and feelings. She also had group sessions and counciling as well. She went out of her way to be nice and caring while still maintaining order as per her directives. She always had something nice so say and was so encouraging to everyone. I will never forget her for all her help and she deserves praise from Parkwood for doing such an awesome job! She easily maintained control of a group full of people in which all were having an array of issues. In my eyes she deserves a medal for her 25 years of service! I have not 1 complaint on my treatment. Also Mrs. Shakira was totally awesome as a therapist. She helped with all my appointments for my aftercare plan. She also led multiple group sessions that were very helpful. And Mr. Brian(t), the nighttime tech was a huge help with ending our days. He monitored all the patients on this unit every night of his work week. He went out of his way to help us with anything we needed, within reason. He was also the one who woke us up in the morning. He was super patient with us all. I will not hesitate to go back if I ever I need to. This place is the best facility I've ever tried. Highly recommended! Ask for the east unit if you go. You won't be disappointed. Its really not that scary. If you need help, get it here!

The communication I experienced was unacceptable. There was no solo therapy or diagnosis provided to us yet in discharge papers was a blanket diagnosis, yet I was immediately threatened with a report to DCS for abandonment if I didn’t pick up my child because I was comfortable. Meanwhile dcs sent us here to get her help. After just 24 hours at home, we're faced with the same troubling behavior. During a session on Saturday, her therapist even mentioned the possibility of my child hearing voices for the second time and I told Parkwood that when we admitted her. It’s clear that their priority is to secure payment before allowing you to check in your child and leave but not actually provide help for a child struggling mentally! This place is garbage. Management should be fired.

I’ve been going to this clinic since 2017. Brenda Crownover is the best counselor I’ve ever had. And having a psychiatrist (Love you Dr Carter!) to prescribe me in the same building is extra convenient. Dr Crownover is the first counselor I’ve been to that made me feel like she was listening and trying to help instead of just saying “chronic depression take some pills” and being done with it. She took my mental health concerns seriously and even researched and helped me find someone willing to test and diagnose me with autism as an adult. The staff at the front desk is always friendly and helpful, going so far as to tell me they’ll be praying for me when I cancel due to illness and saying they’re happy I’m feeling better next time I come in. I cant think of anywhere more deserving of a 5 star review than this counseling clinic.

I absolutely adore my therapist! Ms. Simpson has worked with me for almost two years. We were first linked during the pandemic, so all of my sessions were via Telehealth. The first appointment was my intake appointment; it was not a therapy session. This is standard procedure and was used to provide me with her diagnosis. From there, we have worked on my needs and she has been amazing. I am a completely different person from who I was when I started working with Ms. Simpson. For the first time today, were were able to meet face-to-face and she is just as wonderful! I really do recommend Behavioral Health Services and I definitely recommend Ms. Simpson. :)

I personally have never been to this place but! As an addict who has now been clean for 19 years, notice I still say addict, I can tell who the addicts in denial are that are posting and then who the ones are who wanted to make their life better are. I'm glad this is where my loved one is going! Sounds like the perfect place for him to start his recovery. I'm sure he'll say all these negative things as well, I know I sure did at my recovery program but, that just means they are doing their JOB!! Life is a struggle, addicts don't handle struggle very well, they need to be able to survive the struggles if we want to keep them alive! I'm glad I read these reviews, I'm ready to start trying to save our loved one!! Let the STRUGGLE begin!
