The staff were nice and good about communication. I made good friends and i ended up leaving with a good state of mind. The bad parts of it is I only did group therapy once and seen my therapist twice the whole time. The food isn’t the best but if you let them know they can put you on a special diet. The rooms can get super hot at night. That was the worst part for sure. When I was 12 I was having bad anger issues and suicidal thoughts to the point I was scared of the harm I was causing to not only myself but others. I came here and I asked a staff member the fastest way to get out of there cuz I was scared. He told me to just cooperate with the doctors and therapists and tell them exactly how I feel so they could help me. I seen and did some crazy shit while in there, but all in all I came out as a complete bettered version of myself and I wish I could tell the kids in there the same thing I was told. I was having a lot of trouble or with withdrawal symptoms and wanted to make sure I was tapering the correct way. I met with Brian a couple times and he was very nice. The only negative I have is he did a drug test on me without disclosing that I would get a bill. Now I have a $180 bill to test for drugs that I was prescribed. It would have been nice if the fact that I would have to pay so much for a drug test was disclosed before taking it, and if I had been given an option to opt out. Meagan Jackson 1 year ago I would just like to share my experience about Natural State and the guy Michael who manages the sober living houses. If it was not for him my son would be dead. He told me from the beginning that if my son was willing to go to any lengths to change his life then he would have a chance. I almost enabled my son to his grave by not listening to Michael and taking his suggestions. Today my son has a little over a year sober and is a new person. He also suggested that I go to Alanon meetings which I have been for a year and the relief that I get from these meetings are priceless. Your first 30 days you got to remember ,Maintaining abstinence from drugs and alcohol Paying rent and other fees Participating in house chores Attending house meetings Following curfews Respecting other residents and staff Being a team player Agreeing to random drug and alcohol tests. the lot rules to go by . I watched people get kicked out and that might sound bad but it not . Let me explaine . they start shooting crooked , lying , going behind staff back and thinking they are being slick . no cell phone till you go Block House then you got ask to have one . you got work CQ answering phone and other things ,sighn in and out of bathroom . you get 10 minute shower no longer . write up comes with extra duty ,washing dishes ,cleaning bathrooms floors , meeting room ,washing cars . when you leave you be diffrent person but it fresh start for you so never take it hard and think you being punished . Classes are also good Josh 8 months ago This rehab is very affective in establishing long term sobriety if a person desires it. The negative reviews here are not accurate and the staff very much care for the clients, with most being former addicts and alcoholics themselves. I participated in residential treatment, PHP, and IOP. A client will be paired with a counselor, therapist, and a psychiatrist. Toward the end of treatment a client can be paired with a sponsor of a 12 step program like AA. There are too many resources to list that Oasis and Recovery Centers of Arkansas have to offer, but a person has to desire to be clean/sober and want to change their lifestyle. No one can make an individual stay sober so the staff cannot be blamed especially when they let it be known that the client must put in the effort to rise above their addiction. The doctor I had was condescending and stated that a NP should not be treating me and didn’t know what she was doing, however my NP has never dangerously overmedicated me as he did. I was in the ER the day after leaving with lithium toxicity. I could barely talk or walk. Zero coordination. Shaking. Blurred vision. Near syncope, nausea/vomiting, hot flashes. I was in the Autumn unit. All of the staff, nurses, and techs did everything in their power to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. The doctors came to do wellness checks everyday. I was able to fully open up and be completely honest without fear of being judged or ridiculed. The first morning I was there I had a panic attack and Laila held my hands and walked me through it. She even cut up my food into small pieces so I could eat since I had recently had a dental surgery. Nurse Brooke came and sat in my room with me when I said I was scared to be alone and tried to redirect my brain from the anxiety by talking to me about family and offering to play whatever music I wanted. Carol was bubbly and positive with a smile on her face while trying to take care of all the patients requests and needs. Tyrek was incredible each and everyday, making me laugh with his positive and funny attitude even after a 13 hour shift. Stephen was amazing and busted his butt everyday, staying late when other staff didn't show up for shifts while keeping a smile on his face along with making everyone around him smile. I don't think I even saw Stephen sit down at all. Destiny was amazing and held a music therapy group for the clients that was so much fun. The dietician Rebekah was so helpful with any questions I had even when she was overwhelmed with the workload she had. Rhonda and Griselda are two of the sweetest women I've ever met, being patient, caring and kind while gathering and administering each patient's medications. Shi'nez and Iesha were so sweet and supportive. Abby was amazing and so great at showing the patients new coping skills. Shaq and Derek were awesome and hilarious, making the days more enjoyable. Dr. Downes checked in on me everyday, along with Nurse Reid, and they both made me feel heard, validated, and valued. I could feel how much they understood the battle that was going on in my brain and that they genuinely cared and worked fast and hard to help correct the chemical imbalance from the medications I was on. If I could give a 6th star, I absolutely would. I 1000% recommend Conway wellness center if you are struggling and need help.
